This plugin provides – almost – exactly what I need. Some more features would make it perfect:

• Set the permissions to view the menu. Particularly, I need to show the page to Subscribers.
• Set the location of the menu. E.g. something different than Dashboard like Profile.
• Possibly (but not a priority for me) the option to create more than one menu.
