We have been using the plugin successfully for files up to 200MB and all has been well. Recently however files over around 20MB have started to fail – has there been a change that we need to be aware of. All host settings are as before.

Is a file that’s uploaded/stored on one of the pages ABSOLUTELY SAFE and unreachable for others?
I don’t want my files to be accessable trough a direct (uploads/image.jpg) link at all, is that possible with the lates version?
Thanks a lot for the work!

]]>hi, after the last upgrade of wordpress core, if this plugin is enabled, my theme options will not update, but if it’s deactivated, then I can update my theme options.
I really need this plugin to be on and operational, as it is at the core functionality of the site. Any ideas what I can do to fix this? or is there an upgrade coming out?

]]>I’m using the WP Client File Share plugin and am wondering how the user can log out once they are logged in? For example, if they are on a shared or public computer they would want to log out so no one else would see their files when accessing the website. How can this be done? Can this be added to their client page?
Right now, as I’m building a site, I can’t (myself) figure out how to now log in as the admin since I’ve logged in as a client for testing. I do not have a log out button on the site so I don’t see how to log out.
Also, it would be great to display the client name at the top of the client page so they know they are looking at their page. (Would be helpful in admin interface also, so admins know which client page they are adding files for.)
Looking forward to your response.
Thanks!

]]>Hi there,
I’m about to install this, but hesitating due to some issues and lack of support here.
I have “WP-Members” and “Private! WordPress Access Control Manager” installed.
I use WP-Members for clients to login on restricted sites. That means the user generates his profile himself, not the admin. The admin then has to approve the registration and everything’s set…
I use Private! WordPress Access Control Manager only for limited time acces in user profile and some security stuff it brings with it.
Will this work properly in friendly coexistance?
Any experience somebody?

]]>Hi,
Just thought I would post another bug:
If you go to the page that has been created when you add a user, and press update (feel free to add some content), the parent page will no longer be WP Client File Share and you won’t be able to select this from the parent drop down list.
This is a WordPress bug, not a plugin bug, however to get around it, make the page WP Client File Share public (not private). You could then either add some content to this page, or add a redirect to a login page.
While I’m posting here, I would like to add a feature request:
Move everything into a custom post type.
Stop creating a new ‘Page’ and make a custom post type. This will be much easier to manage / nicer in the admin / you won’t need a parent page.

Sam

I am sitting since morning in front of this plugin to see it working. I installed, uninstalled it a million times but the new user pages are not created once a user is registered(File Sharer Role). Anything special I need to do? Please help.

]]>Hi, great plugin.. exactly what I was looking for. Simple and effective.
Only one question… From the regular wp-admin login page when a file sharer logs-in it pushes them directly to their private file share page. With all the login widgets I’ve tried so far they get redirected to the main home page..
Anyone know of a sidebar login widget that will redirect to the correct private share page based on the username/password combo? I’m looking for something that’s an actual login/logout widget, not just a link to the standard login page.
Thanks for any suggestions!

]]>well, I was very excited when I found this plugin, I thought it was everything I need. But when I made couple of testings, I doubt I can give this to my client:
1. When creating new user you will find his page in “Pages >” but you should NEVER change anything. The moment you press Update, the WP Client File Share page will no longer be a parent and Client’s page will be broken. Even if you try to re-assign the page to her parent, it will not work. So, what are the chances that the administartors in the company that ordered the site don’t do the same thing?
2. There is no way you can change the headline if you are unhappy with “‘s File Share Page” – the moment you change that in index.php, the “WP Client File Share > File Share Users > View Page” link will not work.
3. I am using a rather simple theme and no additional plugins, but the comments form is missing on File Share pages. I am now checking if that is a theme issue

When using this plugin you should never deactivate the comments/trackbanck function on a clients page, otherwise the hole page will get deleted.
In some cases the plugin is very nice, but you can’t seriously work with that….

Your plugin could be perfect for my needs.. but it can’t create users pages..

]]>I user User Role Editor to set up different layers of membership access to my site.
For example I have 4 tiers of membership, each with increasing levels of admin access, e.g. Developer, TechLead, ProjectManager, ProductOwner.
To be forced to use one specific role defined by your plug-in isn’t very clever (sorry, but that’s how I feel about it right now).
So my question is, can the WP Client File Share plug-in be made to work with one or more different roles witin my WP setup? I can see how to change it to work with ONE role of my choice, but not with multiple roles as described above.
Before anyone shouts me down for not knowing my PHP, I’m a content manager, not a developer ??

]]>Hey Aaron – I’ve been testing your WP Client File Share plugin, which is quite cool. I have a question. Is it possible to allow the different sharers to allow selected other sharers to see their files, meaning besides the admin? I’m looking to allow a group of users to share certain files among themselves rather than just with the Admin user. Let me know if I missed something. They are currently using just one user account but can’t tell who uploaded/owns what files. So it’s not quite there for their purpose.
