Well, some progress. I disabled automatic updates on a few of my sites after 4.2.3, and following today’s 4.2.4 update, I noticed that the readme file did not return on the sites I manually updated. It still returned on the sites that updated automatically. At least now we know where exactly things are going wrong, so hopefully someone can figure out how to fix it…

]]>The only file left is the readme.html file. Checked five different sites, all of them had it after the update ran. One site is using a translation (en_ca). I would really love to get this issue resolved — please help!
The same thing happened after the last automatic update, but I got no reply to this thread.

]]>Surely somewhere in the /wp-admin/includes/class-wp-upgrader.php there’s an option to disable the RE-installation of 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015.
I’m learning as quick as I can, but isn’t there a hook / filter in there somewhere so that I don’t have to delete 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 themes?

]]>Hi there,
First of all, thank you very much for this plugin! It looks like it’s new — I hope a lot of people discover it! This plugin solves the problem of repeatedly performing the same basic actions, which is both annoying and time-consuming.
I installed the plugin very recently, so I just got the chance to test how it works following last night’s 4.2.2 automatic update. Of all the files I had previously removed, the only one that’s back is the readme.html file. That’s an improvement over the default behaviour, but it’s still not quite perfect (or perfectly useful, since the plugin doesn’t currently end up saving that much time after all).
I’ve removed the file for now, but I hope this issue is fixed before the next automatic update… Thanks, and cheers!!

wp-admin/install.php
as well.
