It’s amazing that even after 8 years with no updates, the plugin has been working. However the one problem I’m having is I get an error “Publish Failed” if my post includes any images. Posts with only a featured image don’t seem to be affected as those post normally. It’s just the in-post images that generate the error.
I did try saving the post before publishing because I read your note about images do not get synced to the media gallery of the WordPress blog until it’s saved first, but that doesn’t appear to be working either. I click “Save Draft” before publishing and I still get the “Publish Failed” error.
I am publishing from my self-hosted blog shaunie.nyc so that’s where the addon is installed, and the target WordPress blog is shaunienyc.wordpress.com.
Are you able to help with this? Thanks.
]]>Hi
it seems that this plugin requires a lot of memory (RAM). In fact, when loading, my site used more than 2GB RAM with 98% by this plugin alone. This is unusual. I wonder, did I do anything wrong when installing? Any known bugs or settings? Any adcvise or suggestions?
Just curious if this also copies meta data along with the post that is stored in custom fields and those made with other custom field plugins such as Advanced Custom Fields.
The last response to this feature was over 6 years ago. Hoping it was added sometime after.
]]>Hi thank you for this work
I’m not able to make it work in local website in my PC
Hi, I’m trying to write posts on one site (Site A) and have them automatically post on another (Site B). From what I understand, this plugin is exactly what I’m looking for, however I’m having a little trouble with it actually connecting/posting to Site B.
Both sites are self hosted and both are connected with WordPress.com via Jetpack, each with their own WordPress.com account.
I have installed the plugin on Site A. However in any configuration of connecting sites and WordPress.com accounts, it fails to crosspost. The debug simply reads
array(0) {
}
And after a little digging, I believe it’s because in the plugin settings, the “Default WordPress blog for crossposts” is blank. There are no blogs to choose from in the dropdown menu.
I imagine I’ve simply got things the wrong way around with the ClientID side of things, so I wondered whether you might be able to guide me through the process a little and help me figure out where I’m going wrong?
Clicking the link to create a ClientID, I am taken to a WordPress.com developer page.
Once I have made the application, I can input the WordPress Client ID and OAuth consumer secret in the plugin settings and connect. I’m then prompted with an authorisation page.
I am then redirected back to the plugin settings which says successfully connected – albeit without any blog listed in the dropdown list.
Thanks in advance for your help.
]]>Hi. I will close this until I get a better clue…
Seemed to work now…but it is publishing or trying to publish every page I save – including edit Menu page.
At first, I got the plug-in failure and error message, so I enabled Debug setting in the plug-in. With nothing else changed: When plug-in Debug is enabled, the crosspost is successful.
So, I disabled/enabled plugins and I thought I had it figured out.
But now publishes every admin side save – any screen with a Save or Update button I press.
Thank you
]]>@meitar Hi.
Do you plan to update the plug-in sometime in the future?
Thanks for the continued forum support!
I just started using the plug-in again. I have donated before. If it works on any of my sites I will donate again shortly. If it will help an update to happen sooner, I will donate period. I don’t give much, but I give something periodically for plug-ins that I depend on or use long-term, like yours.
Thanks!

What about seo issues?

]]>Hello. The plugin works very well and each post I write on “mypersonalsite.com” site is published on “mypersonal.wordpress.com” site correctly, thanks!
Now I’d like to add some adsense advertisements on “mypersonalsite.com” site (I’d put on footer and at the end of each post, and this is possible without problem) but WordPress.com don’t want adsense ads on its platform so : Can I keep active crosspost between the sites blocking only the crosspost of adsense ads (that are published at the end of each posts? (At moment adsense is not active yet). I could publish ads only on pages that I don’t crosspost but pages are about 27 and posts are beyond 800 and I’d like to monetize them ??
Thanks in advance

Crosspost creates excerpts by default when a post is made from my development platform to wordpress.com. This duplicates the initial portion of the post and is not the desired format. The original post does have an excerpt and neither do the original posts on wordpress.com. It only happens with crosspost. Is there a way to disable it in the plugin?

]]>Hi! I just got on to www.ads-software.com and was trying to crosspost with my wordpress.com site. 4 uploaded, but then I messed up when I was trying to organize the posts. So I tried to do it over again. Now there are only 3 posts (of 60) and no photos. It’s been over 24 hours, and no other post has uploaded on the www.ads-software.com site. The website is https://stopmakingmefat.com/blog/
Is there something I’m missing? Should I try it over again? Or can it just not do that many posts?
]]>Same issue as with wordpress version 4.3.5.
About 6 months ago crosspost no longer functioned correctly. Images show broken links on the blog, the source image addresses are not carrying over correctly.
Was using crosspost to post only my posts, now every time a post goes to the wordpress blog it also adds the post to the menu.
Also getting 12+ notifications every time I update my local menus, or pages. (Which never happened before)
I recently removed the menu from the wordpress blog that showed all my posts, because they all appeared with broken images. (here is an example how one of the posts appear on wordpress) atlanticcitynightclubs.wordpress.com
After inspecting the image, it seems the image sources are being changed to (https://atlanticcitynightclubs.files.wordpress.com) and removing the original website source.
Hopefully this is enough information for you to diagnose.
Thank you,

I had just started using it a few months back, and I really liked how it worked. Then, probably because of WP updates, it stopped working.
Thanks.

]]>Hi-
Do you have plans to have this plugin post to several blogs? We have a few different wordpress sites and it would be nice to pick and choose which blogs we’d like to send out to different websites.
]]>I have a MultiSite. CrossPost in NOT network activated. I have used CrossPost for a very long time – without issue.
The function is working – crossposting.
PROBLEM: I open any page in the admin of a site or my network for the first time in a sesion I get an entire page of one error warning repeated a dozen times.
a). It happens one time for each site and network admin. I mean: New visit by me…open any page to access site admin, get a wall of errors. Go to a different site and access admin, get a wall of errors. Go to network admin, get a wall of errors. But not all sites, not always.
b). I turned on debugging. I didn’t see any errors or messages.
c). Crossposting is working. (It is not network activted. The sites that have it activated, it works.)
d). Everything else, sites, network, and admins, work fine.
e).I have been ignoring it and working as usual.
Error Message:
“Crossposting to WordPress.com failed. Unfortunately, I have no idea what WordPress.com is talking about. Consider asking WordPress.com Support for help. Tell them you are using WordPress Crosspost, that you got the error shown above, and ask them to please support this tool. ‘Cause, y’know, it’s not like you don’t already have a WordPress blog, and don’t they want you to use theirs, too?
Additionally, you may want to turn on WordPress Crosspost’s “Enable detailed debugging information?” option to get more information about this error the next time it happens.”
Thank you

]]>Hi!
I just started playing with this very useful plugin and it worked like a charm, quickly and without any problems. Basically, I only miss one feature: make the crossposting work when posting using the wp XML rpc o rest api. Is it planned suporting XML/rest crossposting? Is there any workaround to be able of crossposting without using the wp admin graphical interface?
Congratulations for your great work and thanks in advance!

]]>Hi! I’m having trouble getting the plugin to connect to my WordPress.com blog. After I enter the Client ID and OAuth Consumer Secret, I click the button to connect to the WordPress.com blog, and the page opens where I can select to Deny or Approve. But when I click Approve, it goes back to the settings page, and it looks like nothing connected because the “Click here to connect to WordPress.com” button is still there, and nothing is set up. ]]>Hello,
I downloaded and installed the plugin and it makes it all the way to the connection sections. When I try to connect the accounts through the created app, it looks like it is trying to work but never gives me the option to authorize. Will there be an updated version of the plugin to run on the newer version of WordPress? Thank you for your time. =)
The post https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/self-hosted-to-self-hosted-crossposting?replies=4 indicated two self-hosted WordPress sites can crosspost. I want to post from websiteA.com to websiteB.com; WordPress Crosspost is installed in websiteA and the info for WordPress Client ID and OAuth consumer secret uess the info from websiteA.
Selecting Connect to WordPress generates the following:
Invalid request, please go back and try again.
Error Code: invalid_request
Error Message: Mismatch in redirect_uri.
So, which client id and client secret should the info come from in this case- websiteA.com or websiteB.com? If this was set up properly, then any help would be appreciated.
]]>Hey, nice plugin, just what I was looking for!
I was wondering, if there’s a way to sync posts to the destination blog, when they are updated in the source blog? I figured they are being crossposted to the destination blog, even if they are not new, but only being updated. But what I’m looking for is to sync the changes.
Examples:
– I change the title or content of the post in the source blog: I’d like the changes to be synced to the destination blog.
– I add the no-crosspost category (“Do not crosspost entries in these categories”) to the post: I’d like the post to be deleted (or marked as not published) on the destination blog.
Any help appreciated!
Thanks,
Fabian
I’m crossposting from self-hosted to self-hosted blogs, both registered in wordpress.com, When I update in the blog where wordpress crossposts is installed I get this message:
object(stdClass)#443 (2) {
["error"]=>
string(12) "unknown_blog"
["message"]=>
string(12) "Unknown blog"
}
Do you know what could be wrong?.
