Hi!
Please add a reminder function where you can set the date and time. The administrator or the person to whom the note belongs will receive a push notification in the admin panel.
There is still a missing function – Completed. To mark the notes that are completed and they will go to some archive where they can be viewed when they are completed and by whom.
Thanks
]]>I’m not sure wether it used to be working before but when I add links inside a note they are not left-clickable. Only right-click and choose “open link in a new tab”
Thanks and congrats for the work done ??
]]>Hey Notes
Change request:
I think add note placed next to Howdy is a very very bad idea, since everyone tries to kill “Howdy” since WP does not, and somehow they are in the same string.
If notes in Dashboard Vanish as in my case ad it is removed from admin bar there is no way to get to it.
I will propose to place Add Note inside the Add drop down, together with posts/pages etc.
Maybe, just maybe that sorts this bug. Yes after 2 times broken Notes it’s a bug.
Did you release my Daish Translation?
]]>WordPress: 6.6.1

Suggestion to fix?
]]>Hi @jeroen
I read that this great plugin is a safety risk – is there at patch on its way?
I really hope there is ??
Read warning from SolidWP
https://solidwp.com/blog/wordpress-vulnerability-report-august-14-2024
After recent update, all lists with check boxes are gone. converting to regular note and back to list does nothing
]]>Hey Jeroen
I have translated this plug-in to Danish. They are submitted as suggestions. I am not sure how to push them further and release.
]]>Hey
I found this code in your faq:
add_filter( 'wpdn_colors', 'wpdn_add_purple' );
function wpdn_add_purple( $colors ) {
$colors['purple'] = '#5236A0';
return $colors;
}
In case I wish to add more than one colour, how do I do that? Do I add a colour line or repeat the entire code block?
I assume changing purple everywhere according to the color is ok?
]]>My notes are gone. Any plans for update and support for Multisite?
]]>Hello
I just wanted to give you a heads up that there’s been a report of an XSS vulnerability in the WP Dashboard Notes plugin (version 1.0.11 and earlier).
Are you aware of this issue and do you have any plans to release an update with a fix?
Thanks!
Jules
I have more than one WordPress website and sometimes this plugin works and sometimes it does not. I have not figured out what it is, but on one test site lately it worked, then I deleted the site to start over and re-installed this plugin and now it doesn’t work. Does it need some other plugin to work?
]]>Hi
I saw this other post (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/deleting-is-too-easy/) and I agree with the OP. It’s too easy to delete a note.
Hope you don’t mind me being too “straight forward” about this next opinion, but I always find it that developers have this very weird idea that users need to be some kind of “computer savvy” people in order to do something that a simple button (or warning) would solve.
You (the developer) said that the post is in the database. Why would a user need to know what a database is, how to find it, how to retrieve a note, etc, when this can be done in the frontend? Remember that users of a WordPress website are not necessarily the ones who installed it. And even if they are, like myself, the whole process of opening my cPanel page, going to the database, finding where the notes are, etc, etc, etc, just to retrieve a deleted note, seems very convoluted. Especially for a plugin that’s clearly not aimed at “computer savvy” people. It’s just a notes plugin. A simple warning as the OP suggested would be a good first step, but also a way to access the deleted notes and restore them, would be a huge improvement. For all these years that the plugin exists, I find it weird that this is still not implemented.
Again, don’t take this personally. I’m just very straight forward and I think that some things are so obvious, that I’m always amazed at how developers don’t think about them, or suggest these very complex workflows expecting the user to be “computer savvy” or even have the energy to go through it.
Anyway, I appreciate your work, regardless.
Hope you can take this opinion as a step towards the improvement of an already great plugin.
Best,
Tiago
]]>Hi
I’ve been using this plugin for years (I don’t use the plugin itself every day, as I don’t go on my website every day either), but every time I install it on a new website, since I don’t use it all the time, it’s always a pain to know where to find the option to add the first note. From there it’s a “breeze”, because with one note in the dashboard, it’s easy to add more notes.
I think that having that tiny, hidden “Add Note” on the corner, behind the username, is a very bad UI/UX decision. Please add it to the Screen Options (if this is even possible), or at least add an option under “Tools” or some other option in the sidebar. Make it easy for people to find what they need.
Thanks!
Tiago

Hey Notes
My post-its are gone from admin dashboard and they are my entire project management… Any ideas?
I think it happened after wp 6.5. Worked fine before in theme TT4 multisite. Who knows something?
]]>For me it only shows the Add Note if I am on the “home” page of the dashboard. By the time I have got there I have forgotten what the note was about!
It would also be useful to attach the note to a page or post.
]]>Is it possible to set the notes to only be readable by admin users, not customers?
]]>I just installed this plugin on a website. I saw no add note button in the top admin bar or on the screen. But when I switched my dashboard settings to the default dashboard (hyperlink bottom left) the + button appeared in the top admin bar. So for everyone who might run in to the same thing, maybe this will help.
]]>Dear, just a simple feature request.
Could you foresee the option whether to include a sort of timestamp on each note?
It would be really useful.
Thanks!
]]>Hi. How can I full uninstall the plugin? Looks like simple uninstall leaves data in DB and after re-installing everything is back.
Thank you
]]>@sormano
Howdy Jeroen.
I was coming here to ask about “updates.”
In my case there is no problem with the functionality of the plugin as far as I know.
I am just getting nagged by a couple of security plugins stating that this plugin is abandoned.
I’m guessing it just hasn’t needed any updates.
I am not a WordPress Plugin developer, so I don’t know if this is possible, but is there some way to do a teeny tiny minor update so that WordPress “tests” with the current version and shows as updated?
Right on the plugin page here in the repository there is a banner that says “This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.”
Is it possible to force www.ads-software.com to “test” it? Or is that something you need to do?
Or is it only triggered when a change is made?
I do not know how to do this but it would be nice to make those NAGS go away haha.
Anyways, I do appreciate this free and very simple plugin that makes my life easier by being able to put notes right on my dashboard.
Hi,
Looks like a very nice, useful and must needed plugin!
Unfornatly I’m not able to see in my (new WordPress installation) admin bar ”Add note” ??
]]>Any chance you could add support for HTML and possibly CSS option in all notes?
]]>1st at all: Great little tool, very helpfull!
But how to make a list-element over more then one line?
I need a [CRLF] inside a list-element e.g.
1st first-element-name
2nd second-element-name-line1 [CRLF]
……..second-element-name-line2
3rd thrid-element-name
Is [CRLF] and 2nd-line-shifting possible?
Great plugin! Just a suggestion: I would expect the plugin to ask me “are you sure?” before deleting my todo-list or a customer note forever.
A recycle bin or any kind of undo option would be nice.
]]>problem solved i just edited title to avoid confusing people
I sent my topic in wrong support forum because there was another plugin with similar name.
I’m Sorry about that as long as i can not delete topic i just mark it as solved

]]>Hi, I have a series of notes on my own dashboard and use them to notify of website action. I had assumed that if another WP User with full ‘administrator’ access signed into their dashboard, they also would see the notes.
I have now found this is not the case, the ‘colourful notes’ I create are hidden from the other Administrator on their dashboard, is there a way to fix this, so they can visually see the notes displayed as they sign in?
I know they can go to the Dashboard/Notes menu, then see all BUT it isn’t the same as having that vibrant colour note immediately seen on the login dashboard display.
Although I have searched settings I cannot find a solution if it’s available. Would appreciate your advice?
Thanks Dennis
Hello @sormano
Hope you are fine.
When I add new note after the 5th note which are shown in the dashboard, the new note doesn’t come up.
I mean for the new note, I have to delete or unpublish one of the previous notes to see the new note.
Regards,
Rahim
Does this plugin support multisite network? I installed in multisite network, but nothing appear at admin bar.
