When I edit a new comment, WP ECP is loaded. But after saving the comment, if I want to edit and modify it, it’s the WP default editor that is loaded. Which ID must I add in WP ECP configuration, regarding to my theme?
Hi, the owner of the site above wants to have some editor features for comments. Actually he would love to just be able to use mce in the backend comment editing area. But I cannot find any code or plugin for this. Anyway, this plugin works great in the frontend except for one little thing. He would like to restrict the options for formatselect. Actually the select ends after heading 4 so somehow the plugin seems to change the content already. But he wants just to have paragraph and heading 3/heading 4 as options. Is there any way to do it? Thanks a lot.
Hi
Is there a way to use inside another text control inside a form ?
The TinyMCE toolbar is great for posting comments, however, it does not work when someone tries to reply to a comment. In fact, it break the ‘reply’ feature completely.
My “reply to a comment” works when the plugin is deactivated, and the lin kstops working when the plugin is activates.
Any suggestions?
The link you have on the wp plugin page does not go to a list of buttons for the toolbar.
It would be nice if there was a list of buttons somewhere, preferably in the plugin settings panel.
Alternatively, the list you have superimposed in the toolbar input field could be made permanent, so that the user can just delete which ones they didn’t want.
Thanks!
I have an odd bug. If I am not the admin, I cannot post comments with color, size, or basically any formatting that uses the span tag. But, I see in the code this plugin allows the span tag. And, when editing a post I can add color text even if logged in as a regular user.
It is only when creating the original comment, and only if I am not the admin. The comment just never posts. So it’s a silent error going on.
I tried disabling all other extensions to troubleshoot but that didn’t help. Still I know there could be something wrong with my particular installation.
I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced this with this plugin and if anyone has any suggestions?
Edit: I fixed this for now by adding an extra php function which allows the span tag. It all boiled down to the html span tag not being allowed. I think this plugin is supposed to do this by default, but there’s something about my installation it doesn’t like.
Hi, Firstly thanks for your awesome plugin, that solved tons of our requires …
but now we’ve met one issue is this plugin did make the change of default comment module for whole WP site (include woocommerce’s comment feature …)
but it also removes the star rating part… which we really need …
so is that anyway to take the star rating feature back …?
or just make the plugin won’t affect woocommerce’s comment feature …?
thanks a lot.
Hi Kentaro,
I just noticed another small detail that I hope you can fix.
Before posting a comment, the visual editor box looks normal like this:
https://ibb.co/fLSbj8
After posting a comment, the visual editor box changes and looks like this, losing some of the formatting options:
https://ibb.co/exBDWo
Can it be fixed so the box looks the same after posting?
(It would also be great if in a future plugin update there could be a popup/message that says “Your comment has been successfully posted!”)
Hi Kentaro,
Firstly, this is an amazing plugin, thank you!
I notice one small issue which I hope you have some time to look into, please… I found that with threaded (nested) comments enabled (Settings>Discussion), when clicking to Reply to a comment, some options are missing from the visual editor menu such as the icons for lists, insert img, read-more, link, unlink, special characters, font color.
However,if I have already made a comment on the thread and click to Edit comment, all the icons are visible. And then, if I cancel editing that and go back to Reply to a comment instead as initially intended, the missing icons are now visible too.
Something seems to prevent the comment reply from showing all icons/options in visual editor to begin with.
Best regards,
MBV
Hello,
I have encountered edit comment not being saved issue. There is no any error message and the process seems completed.
I’m use of Twenty Fourteen theme. Tried turn off all other plugins also not able to figure it out, is that any suggestion for me.
Seems as some conflict and problem between your plugin and above mentioned one.
When option for (backend) support for editors, in Advanced TinyMce is activated your plugin refuse to show cookie bar, if text is changed.
I need some help to start with. Non-english language has non-english letters wrong encoded and displayed. (Mouse over buttons info, and “pastetext” sentences Info)
Dont know where to start.
Can use for instance Advanced TinyMce plugin. It encodes letters right way. So I know language files and strings for TinyMce are OK.
Seems as you have leftovers from your testing directly in code (several places).
://localhost:8000/
wp_register_script( $this->plugin_slug . '-admin-script', 'https://localhost:8000/assets/wpEditorCommentsPlus.js', array( 'jquery', 'backbone' ), $this->version, false );
Hi there! Thank you for your plugin!
Can you please tell me how to get rid of this “P” character in the lower part of the edit box?
Thanks!
How can I upload Image in Comments ?
Hi,
I installed this earlier but it wasn’t compatible with my theme, a bit of a cheeky ask but I would really appreciate it if you could give any hints on how to find the classes and ID’s on my theme I tried looking in firefox developer tools but tried what I thought was right but it still had two reply boxes the comment plus box which I could enter text, etc. into but couldn’t submit. and the plain one below it which I could still use and submit.
I know it’s something that I’m doing wrong but it has me stumped so I’ve had to disable it for now unfortunately.
My website is https://maxzi.co.uk if you would be kind enough to take a look to tell me what I need to put into the custom ID & class fields to get it working I would be very grateful.
Regards
Gary
First congratulations for the plugin.
Question: Is it possible to include the button “delete” the comment (only for logged in users)?
Hello
I was making a website in my production server (siteground hosting) and i was using your plugin last version without any problem. I migrated the site to my clients hosting, but then i couldnt activate your plugin.
This is the error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-editor-comments-plus/WPEditorCommentsPlus.php on line 655
I rollbacked the plugin version to 1.0.1 and it works.. but i cannot update it to a newer version, because the same error shows up.
I hope you can help.
Thanks!
Hello,
Your plugin appears to be the most feature rich comment editor I have tested and combining the comment editing feature is great.
1) When the modal box for inserting an image opens, I cannot get it to close no matter what I do.
2) Unfortunately, I cannot get comments to post. They just disappear quickly when the post button is clicked.
I am also using Comment Attachments and Simple Comment Editing.
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/comment-attachment/
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/simple-comment-editing/
I deactivated both to see if it made any difference in the issue and it does. There appears to be a conflict with Comment Attachments that causes the issue.
Deactivating Comment Attachments solves the issue, but I need it for our application. Unfortunately it has not been updated for over 2 years, but it has worked fine for us on a WP 4.5.3 multisite network on multiple subsites.
Is it possible that you may be able to make your plugin work with the Comment Attachments plugin? OR incorporate a comment attachments upload feature into your plugin asan additional feature, thus making your plugin WP Editor Comments SUPER PLUS. ?? ??
Any assistance will be appreciated.
Thanks!

Would it be possible to add support for oembed?
I tried using this plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/oembed-in-comments/
However, there are some issues:
Firstly, all pasted URLs get wrapped in
tags so oembed just doesn’t work (I’m guessing this is to do with the wpautop setting).
Also, I believe when loading comments through ajax you need to have the global $post variable set, which may not be the case currently.
Thanks.

Hello,
I have made my own custom theme and I tried to install this plugin. Everything works, only editing the comment itself doesnt work. I really dont know whats the problem.

I would like to use your plugin and love the fact that buttons can be added, removed, etc.
However, I don’t see an option to remove the menubar / toolbar.
How do I remove tinymce toolbar?
Thank you!
