I couldn’t find a way to contact the plugin’s developer, so I updated the plugin to make it compatible with WordPress 6.1.1, PHP 8.1+ and HTTPS.

In order to make the plugin HTTPS compatible you have to replace in file /wp-exclude-from-homepage/wp-exclude-from-homepage.php

Ready to use it but the directory doesn’t say your 1.1.3 is compatible with WordPress 4.1 or 4.1.1. Is it compatible?

Hi,

The category exclusion works without any apparent issues, but when I exclude specific posts (without excluding the category), the homepage layout is screwed up. The first post of that category appears within the top-level menu container for some reason.

Finally I found this plugin, many other were promising to do the same thing or similar.

But this seems to be the only one that is working and doing the job I was looking for. So many thanks for sharing your work!

Of course I have some feature requests.

1. Would it be possible to exclude the posts not only from the homepage but also from any feeds?

2. Would it be possible to make excluding posts a bit user friendly? Like having a box on the edit page of a post where you can simply check mark the post to be excluded, instead of having the need to note down the post id and go into the settings of WP Exclude from Homepage?

Hi, Thank you so much for a wonderfully simple and highly effective plugin. Genius! I have been using your plugin and have come across a situation with which I hope you can help me. I would like to create a “phantom” category which is the only category that appears on the homepage, separate from the main post’s categories. So, each post will have its placement within its category and only those with the additional “phantom” category (i.e. Homepage) will appear on the homepage.

I have tried doing this by excluding ALL categories except the ‘Homepage’ phantom category, then tagging only the posts I want on the home page with the additional ‘Homepage’ category, but then nothing at all is appearing on my home page.

Is there a way to exclude only one of two categories a post is in?

An error in the plugin menu in the admin setting right here needs awarding user_level “8” to “Editor” is to be replaced as a role.

Looks like when I have category that hasn’t got any published posts – it’s missing from the list of categories to hide.
