Since today the Facebook Connect plugin suddenly is giving errors in the Facebook Activity Feed Widget. Normally activity is showing up, but now you see an attempt is made to show activity and then this message occurs: Invalid action type
Something changed in the Facebook API ??

and even before upgrading.. FB Connect used to work only for a month at max….
I’m using it with Buddypress and my database is clean and neat, as well that I didn’t modify anything in the Scripts.
I tried a clean install with wordpress the lastest version.. the FB Connect button still didn’t respond!!! so I concluded it just doesn’t work with the new wordpress anymore..
Please look into it on my site https://groops.cu.cc
I’ll give you administrator access by email [email protected]

It was working, I think – the first time you use it. But after that you can’t login anymore with the button.
Is there a fix for this, and for 3.3 ?
Thanks!

]]>I was using Facebook connect plugin by Valentinas and everything went fine.
https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/wp-facebook-connect/
As from yesterday, it stopped functioning. No action appears when clicked on fb login button. Just this javascript error appears:
OAuth2 specification states that ‘perms’ should now be called ‘scope’. Please update.
[Break On This Error] FB.provide(”,{getLoginStatus:function…signed_request,code’});return a;}}});
After some googling I discovered that some changes are needed to support Oauth 2. It’s been mandatory since Oct 1st but the SDKs were only forced onto Oauth 2 yesterday.
See this thread here:

So does anybody faced the same problem and maybe know what cahnges could be made in order to make him work again?
Thanks a lot.
]]>Hi, I know that the author does not provide any support to this plugin anymore but big thanks to him. My issues with this plugin are following:
a. Facebook logged in users are redirected to error page (404);
b. Facebook logged in users even when logged out unsuccessfully as above given issue, they still remain logged in the web.
c. When a user registers through FB, they get a user ID and with a number added to their userlogin, mainly number 1.
d. When a user is first registered, it shows right registration time until they post a comment. When a comment is posted, user’s reg time becomes 01/01/70 which is as I know default Mr Word Press login’s registration date.
How do I fix those issues? Any idea?

I have put a query time counter on the footer of the pages and it increases to 2 seconds when this plugin is activated. It was 0,3 seconds before this plugin.I think there’s something wrong with my installatin. What could it be?

]]>Hi,
I am using your plungin and he his well coded, but you don’t localize the facebook script, you can do it by using :
function facebook_header(){
global $locale;
wp_enqueue_script( 'facebook_connect_js_functions', 'https://connect.facebook.net/'.$locale.'/all.js', array('jquery') );
}
In you file, WordPress and facebook seems to use the same locale string, so it’s perfect !
You have missed some strings for the internationalization like in widget, don’t forget to add your translate slug in the _e and __ functions.
Also you add the shortcode 2 times in your fb-connect.php file at line 48
I have translated the plugin french, so i you want i can give you the po and mo files.
And a warning to the other users that using wp_logout_url function, don’t use single quotes for your href but double quotes, if you do the link would not work !

Rahe

]]>Hi,
Plugin doesn’t work with WP 3.2 for me, it only shows text ‘Logout’ (even tho i’m not logged in) and it is not a link that I can follow. I made sure I logged off my facebook session and all other session that could possibly give false impression.
]]>I’m using the Facebook Connect login, it functions properly in rendering on the site, when clicked, etc.
The only problem is it is double-loading the site. If I go to one of my sites at https://naturalwellnessgirl.com, it loads the site completely, then reloads it. Disabling the plug-in fixes the issue.
I went systematically through all of the plug-ins on my site and have confirmed this is only seen with FB Connect.
Thanks for your help.

]]>I run a multisite with sub-folder installed and have the plugin activated sitewide, all pointing to the same app, and it works perfect except for one issue. When people who haven’t registered on the site before are connecting via facebook they are only being registered for that site.
Normally if they were to register via wordpress for my site they would be registered for the entire network and would see the global dashboard when they login. Now they are only being registered for the specific site and seing only that sites dashboard when they log in.
Here is my wp-signups table from myphpadmin, the ones with a:0:{} are those who registered through wordpress and are registered to the entire network of sites, the others are those signed up via the plugin and are only registered for that one site. Any advice on how to change this?
Thanks

So I put the shortcode in the comment section. If the user click the “Connect” button, Facebook will prompt user and the page will refresh a few times. After that, nothing happens. The user still show up as unregistered.
Users will only show up as registered if they manually refresh the page.

]]>Hallo everybody,
is there a way to prevent the page of being reloaded after authentication? Our users don’t like it very much cause it seems like a bug. Or perhaps it would be cool to add al loading spinner instead of just deleting the whole DOM…
Another (bigger) problem has something to do with the feature of Facebook “Use Facebook as …”.
If one does that the page ends in the “die()” in the code… Have not tested that with 1.5 but when I look at the change log there is no change concerning that…

While we all pray for the day IE is banned from the internet, I’m having an IE specific issue with this plugin.
Using this plugin to connect and create an account for the first time returns a blank white page in IE. If you hit refresh it then loads the page and everything is fine.
It seems to be fine in all other browsers.
Has anyone seen this problem?

There has to be a fix for this error. Either I’m missing something obvious about using the plugin or it has a pretty serious bug.
Connect to the website
Go to Facebook.com and logout of Facebook there
Return to the website
All you get is a blank page with the message:
“Error: failed to get your email from Facebook!”
Is there a way to prevent this error, or at the very least, stop it from killing the entire website?
This is the page I’m using the plugin on:
https://www.plush.us/us-lounge/
Even logging back into Facebook doesn’t fix the issue. Clearing the cookies is the only way to fix the problem, but obviously users can’t be expected to do that.
Any help would be appreciated.

I’m not sure if this is a feature or a bug, but no matter where inside a post or page I place the shortcode for the fb connect button, the button always appears at the very top, right underneath the post/page title.
I’d really like to be able to place the button at the bottom of the post or in some specific location. Is this possible?
I’ve tried inserting the HTML manually in the WP editor, but the button doesn’t display properly when I do that.
If it’s possible to place the button freely, I’d love to know how.
Thanks!

]]>I love this plugin ??
I was wondering though if these couple of things could be possible (automatically)…
– Could we have it so that the connect button comes up on the wp-login.php below or above the login box?
– And if you have it set so only logged in people can comment, instead of just “You must be logged in to post a comment.” – if it could say “or connect with fb” and have a button.
I did these things myself but it involved editing the files themselves as I don’t know how to do it any other way… but those are just some ideas. ??
