I cannot get this to work at all. I installed it and it shows up as installed in the dashboard. I followed all your instructions up to:
tail -f /var/log/wp_f2b.log
…but after creating that file it remains at a size of zero even though I can see lots of other attacks -including failed login attempts- coming in on my server (via the apache log “access.log”). My server is running Ubuntu Linux.
I restarted rsyslog (and even fail2ban) but the log is still empty. Also tried adding the line in /etc/rsyslog.conf and /etc/rsyslog.d/50-default.conf …still the log is empty.
]]>I love the idea of this plugin, it’s very close to being what I was looking for – I’d love to see an option added to simply export a text file /, csv, or whatever – with servers that do not meet the root level requirements, this data could still be very valuable for use in other ways.
