This plugin wraps up a load of functionality very neatly:

* Search widget (which is easy to copy and embed within a page as well as the side bar)

* Custom post types with Region subcategory

* Pop up map on the results page

I needed to be able to search for / display nearest locations without a map. While this plugin does have a map functionality, it was easy for me to remove it for my purposes.

A couple of things that would be nice:
? The ability to display results in the content of a custom post instead of a page.
? It would be nice to have the results formatted as a ul with each result wrapped in an li. (It would be a lot easier to style.)
