When I activate the plug-in it causes pages to continuously refresh so they flicker all the v time on the website. Any ideas why this is happening?
I have decided to retire this plug-in due to not having the time to develop it further. I am working to have it removed from the plug-in catalog. Thanks to those who gave useful feedback and supported the plug-in. Sorry it can no longer be maintained.
For an alternative, check out https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/gallery-custom-links/ I haven’t personally used this plug-in but the developer seems very proud of it.
Hi,
I was a bit saddened to see that this plugin was not moving forward anymore and by looking at the support threads I realized that it will probably never ever be fixed. Also, it was not meant to work with anything else than the standard gallery, which is quite an issue as WordPress is moving forward with Gutenberg.
My clients really needed something that works, and quick, so I started a fresh new plugin with almost the same name, here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/gallery-custom-links/. It does basically the same thing, but with a totally different codebase, adapted to modern WordPress and PHP. More importantly, it supports any modern gallery (using WP 4.4 Responsive Images), Gutenberg, but of course also the standard gallery.
As it covers everything, it can’t have as many options as this plugin here, as this one was specifically made to only support the standard gallery.
If the developers of the WP Gallery Custom Links are not willing to pursue the development of it, I am willing to fix the issues with this one to make sure it continues to work with the standard gallery and with all its current options.
For support of all the other galleries, I suggest trying the new plugin here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/gallery-custom-links/.
That way, I think we can make everyone satisfied ?? It’s not so good to let this plugin to rust, so let’s save it.
Hey, I’m trying to use your plugin but I couldn’t get it to work.
I’m working with Colorlib template. And when I activate the plugin this is shown before the gallery.

Hello
I try to show link in the part of title on Masonry gallery but is not possible!
Have you any suggestions?

Hello,
I’m trying to create a gallery in a widget but the custom links are not working. I’ve gone through all the trouble shooting tips I could find but no luck.
The only settings that seem to work in the gallery creation are changing from the attachment page or the media file. However when I provide a custom link it just opens the original images link. Also the field if it should open the link in a new window or keep the original one doesn’t seem to work as well.
This plugin is working on another page I have where the gallery is inserted into the page and not a widget.
Any suggestions on where I should go from here would be extremely helpful. Even if its just a workaround.
Hi John,
I was using the plugin for quite some time now my website is not functional without it. I made a copy of my website and uploaded it to a server. Since then the plugin stopped working. I reinstalled it, tried some solutions I found here but it’s not working. The thing is: whether activated or not it is not making much difference in terms of functionality. The js file is loaded, the textareas in the wp-admin are showing but nothing is working.
P.S. Weird but I have the same identical copy running on my local apache server and have no problems with the plugin so far?
If you would tell me what kind of information you need to help me resolve the issue I’ll be really happy.
Hi
I have seen many websites using

Title

Before the caption so the gallery image gets a nice Title displayed with a link.
I wonder how is this possible cause I can’t get the title to shown.
I read in other posts that by default WP takes the caption text instead of the title so from where is that class=”gallery-item-title”> comming?
You can see an example here of what i mean https://decalaveras.com/

I installed the plug-in and the boxes show where I can insert the link and state whether I want the link to open in a new window. Unfortunately, after I have saved and published the page, there is still no link when I try to click on the gallery images. Can someone please help me?

Hey, it works all fine until I decide to create a website using Gutenberg. Now all the links are broken.
Is there any fast solution?
I have created a gallery of images and need them to link to external pages. It is different recommendations of products but when I go to link it to the website it can be purchased at and click the image, it links to just a larger photo no webpage. I have downloaded the plugin and added the website so I am confused as to why it isnt linking when all of the information is present. PLEASE HELP!
Hi!
Plugin seems to work great ??
One question please…
Is there a way make the hover-on text that is shown on mouse hover be visible on all images in the gallery ALL the time?
I thought this might address that:
[gallery preserve_click_events="true"]
but I’m no sure how to use it in the context of the gallery code:
[gallery ids="77,83,79,1854,2045"]
THANK YOU for your time helping out and coding this plugin ??

I just walked into repairing this site and have spent more time than I probably should have looking for the ‘View All Projects’ link. It needs to be completely removed, but I cannot find it in the code located in Appearance/Editor. I have literally looked through every file. It looked like the code should be in the single post file from what I read in other forums and Google, but I am just not seeing it. There are also page forward and backward arrows that work– but when you hover over them, the language is incorrect (forward says previous, previous says forward). I see where those are located, but cannot find the code to reverse the hover function.

Hi! I love the way the plugin works on my page with link-outs (https://www.vickiray.net/recordings/) but the plugin has also affected my regular gallery page. Photos do not enlarge when clicked, and gallery can’t be scrolled through.
I tried setting photos to [none] but, no results.
Thank you
I’ve got the error:

The fastest way I’ve found to fix it is changing the line 205 and 216 to:
if ( is_array( $attr['ids'] ) ) {
$attachment_ids = array_merge( $attachment_ids, $attr['ids'] );
} else {
$attachment_ids = array_merge( $attachment_ids, explode( ',', $attr['ids'] ) );
}
if ( is_array( $attr['include'] ) ) {
$attachment_ids = array_merge( $attachment_ids, $attr['include'] );
} else {
$attachment_ids = array_merge( $attachment_ids, explode( ',', $attr['include'] ) );
}

I am creating a web page through Page Builder on WordPress. We have a gallery of photos that we wanted to link each individual photo to a different website. I downloaded this plugin and added the information to the images in the gallery, but when I publish the page the images are not linkable. Any advice or suggestions to help link the pictures in this gallery are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I also tried a few solutions mentioned in the forum but while some warnings might be resolved some would still stay. Could you advise what to do?
Many thanks!
Thanks for providing this plugin!
The site listed above uses both BuddyPress and WooCommerce. (Note – I am not the developer – I am helping to maintain/tweak the site. Note further that this is a clone of the live site used for testing.)
I would like to show a limited number of images in the sidebar and have them linked to external URLs. To achieve this I: 1) added a WP Gallery widget to the sidebar, 2) installed and activated this plugin, 3) added external URLs to the three media files shown, and 4) updated the sidebar gallery.
Sadly, the custom URLs are not showing up in the gallery. I tried all settings for ‘Link to’ and both settings for ‘Gallery Link OnClick Effects’ all to no avail.
Any suggestions?
Hi. Thanks for the great plugin friend. I have a few errors on one of my pages that I added a gallery to. I’ve added an image gallery to the front/home page as well but that seems to be working fine. I deactivated all my plugins and that doesn’t seem to fix it. So there doesn’t seem to be a plugin issue. The plugin work great on the home page so it doesn’t seem like there is an issue with the theme. So what else could be the problem and how to fix it? Thank you.

Hello
when I accessed the page for the first time the links were there, but after I’ve refreshed they changed back to carousel. My Support from WordPress tried to help me with this problem, but he could not see, where the failure is. I makes the following suggestion:
“Ok so I had to deactivate the gallery option from Jetpack to enable the custom links, but I’m not 100% sure if that’s the best way if you want to keep the galleries as well”
Is this the right way? (on the site /music/: the second, the third and the fourth picture have a links to igroove/itunes for example)
Thank you for helping
I am interested in using this plugin. But see that it has not been updated in a year. Is this plugin still being actively maintained?
Thanks
