On that site the city fields are supposed to autocomplete but something in the code below is not allowing it. I have WP GeoNames v1.8 installed and US MX and CA are loaded.

I’m trying to add the Geo data as instructed from the instalation tutorial but the number of data imported are always 0.
I asked my server to enable reading the gzip files and said that is by default enabled.

Hello everyone,
I am trying to import data into geonames.
I select the country and click on add.
Then it pretends to import data but the database remains empty.
Display is Number of data in this database : 0
When I look in the database, I see that geonames and geonamesPostal are empty.

Am I doing something wrong or what is going wrong?It’s such a nice plugin the only things that’s missing is the possibility to search buddypress Profiles by distance / proximity. I hope this might be included in a follow up version or a pro version.

When you import the US.zip file West Virginia is not being imported as state ( feature_class = ‘A’ and feature_code = ‘ADM1’ )
You will get only 50 ‘states’ instead of 51 (DC being actually accounted as a state because feature_class = ‘A’ and feature_code = ‘ADM1’, and no WV)
The main concern here is that if there is a problem for that row (WV) it may be more problems that I haven’t noticed yet and ending up with an incomplete dataset.

I am plying with the shortcode function you have – https://travelmy.city/geo/, but I don’t understand how to get that either into ACF, or Taxonomies with the relationship in tact.
I have several custom post types, and want to link it all to a main geo structure.

After installing WP GeoNames and updating the database with US cities etc, the wp-admin page is not loading but is redirecting to the homepage instead.
I use the latest WP version with plugins: Rencentre, Yoast, Jetpack, Responsive notification bar, Widget importer/exporter, WordPress importer.
I deactivated all plugins. After activating one by one, in the following order: Jetpack, Rencentre, Yoast, WP Geonames, the admin site redirected me again to the homepage.
Disabling WP Geonames again fixed it.
So, there is a bug.. ??

this theme creates a “Locations” taxonomy(?) for users to add their listing to my site
this “Locations” list is not the same as their full street address
rather, these “Locations” are added manually by admin and can be hierarchical, for example:
Country > State > City
on the Locations page, first you would display a table of Countries
then click the desired country
then on the next page you would see a list of States within that country
then click the desired State
then you would see a list of Cities within that State
would it be possible to add a Country/State/City set of data to the tables that this directory theme uses to display “Locations” ?
this would be more than unbelievably helpful if possible, how could it be done?
