Has anyone found a way to export the data in this plugin from my database? I need to move the plug in and its content to another website. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

First of all: I love this plugin. It is helping me out a lot helping our website visitors to explain certain terminology in an easy, comprehensive way.
Hence I was wondering, if the author can provide an update to ensure compatibility with future WordPress versions and stop Wordfence and other security plugins from shouting “plugin abandoned”. Probably there is not a lot of effort needed, to submit an update – as I did not see any compatibility problems with 5.3.2.
In case it really is abandoned, question to the community: Are there any other plugins similar to this one, where I can export / import all the terms?

Only the link to “S” terms not working. I see one post about this and in the discussion talks about of temporary solution, modify the plugin with the editor and change the link from “s” to “ss”, but I do not locate the file that must be modified. I would appreciate indication in this regard.

Now I have a small “problem” and want to request a new feature:
I need a possibility to control the content, which should be excluded from the linkify function.
At the moment, there is only the possibility to exclude ALL pages or ALL topic for example.
Maybe it is possible to enable an option (eg checkbox) in the setup options of the categories and/or pages which tells the linkify function to skip the specific page.
Why do I need this?
I am using a “Quiz Plugin”. The Quiz itself is a shortcode on a normal page so it is not possible to remove this from the Linkify.
My problem is, I am asking a question about anything and the linkify puts a tooltip to the corresponding glossary entry (which typicly includes most of the answer)
So I want to disable the linkify for all my pages which are used for the quiz plugin.

]]>I really like your tool, and have recommended it to others. Someone has asked me to share my complete glossary with them so they can use it on their site. I can find how to display all the items, but not a way to send it so they don’t have to enter each one into their own glossary.
Does such a function exist?
It would be great if I could create a CSV or other file of all my Glossary Terms and then use it to automatically create all the Glossary Pages.

discovered a problem with terms. The bottom line is that all published glossary links do not open in separate pages.

The adjustmenst that I’m making all invole the wp-glossary/class/wpg-shortcode-glossary-list.class.php
I want to use this view as a total and complete list (no further linking) but a massiv lexicon view of all my glossay terms.
Problem 1:
The code calls the “get_the_content”. This is the content of the Glossary Term but stripped of all the HTML… and that is just what I want. Should I call another function? I tried the “the_conent” but that destroys my page completly…
Problem 2 (nah: more a : i can’t find it):
In a Glossary Item there is a option to enter Glossary Term Reference (title & link). Since I use a lot of information of others I want to use these en display them in my list. But what function can/must I use to get them into my list?

]]>When I set “Tooltip Content” to “Excerpt” it still displays the entire term definition when hovering over the term. I was hoping it would tooltip an excerpt, requiring a click to go to the full definition.
ALSO the glossary page is placing P between C and D, rather than where it belongs between O and Q. Can this be fixed?
]]>This is very strange: Only the “S” link does nothing when selected. However, if either the “S” glyph is selected directly to left or right, it works. All other letters work fine.

This seems to be a theme related issue though there’s nothing in the theme that seems suspect. I’m using latest Divi Version: 3.0.23 by Elegant Themes (the problem doesn’t happen on WP Twentysixteen default theme). I deactivated all plugins and striped down the content to just the [glossary_atoz /] shortcode on a plain WP Page with the same wrong behavior (when in Divi). Also, played with the few settings in the plugin’s options area without success.
I looked for an name=”s” anchor attribute or other #s link in case there is a conflict, but cannot find anything in the code. There is a search input field in the header that has name=”s” attribute and I manually removed it from the Divi theme header, but it did not fix the problem.
Anyone have a clue what’s happening and how to fix? Obviously this is a complete show stopper and I can’t go live with this issue.

the mouse-hover tool-tip function doesn’t work for my WP Glossary.
In https://probaum-muenchen.de/leistungen/baumpflege/pflegemassnahmen I tested all the three ways of tool-tipping [glossary]Lebensphase[/glossary], [glossary slug=’vitalitaet’]vitalen[/glossary] and [glossary slug=’ZTV-Baumpflege’ /].
All of them would only show the title of the slug, not the except or the full text.
What’s wrong?

I just have a quick suggestion for the plugin. On our site, we have our permalinks to show as /blog/%%postname%%. This means that when we set up a glossary, each item had /blog/glossary/ in the URL.
Our solution was to add the following to the post type registry in wpg-post-types.class.php:
‘rewrite’ => array( ‘slug’ => sanitize_title( _x( ‘glossary’, ‘rewrite slug’, ‘wp-glossary’ ) ), ‘with_front’ => false ),) );
Basically just added ‘with_front’ => false.
Would it be possible to add that to the next update? Or make it an option in settings for people that may want to keep the permalinks?

I’m using Aesop Story Engine and when placing a glossary tag at the beginning of a line, the line except for the tagged term disappears. If I put a space before the [ or if the glossary tag is not at the beginning of the line, it seems to work.
Since ASE is using [aseop_ …] tags at the beginning of line, I think, this causes the problem.
Examples:
“[glossary]This[/glossary] should appear.” -> “This”
” [glossary]This[/glossary] should appear.” -> “This should appear.” (No leading space)

]]>Hi there, we just launched a new website: edventureslab.com and reinstalled wp-glossary and imported the glossary via xml.
In the back-end we can view all the content and groups but on the front-end all we see is “hello”. We flushed the permalinks (which did change from old site), still our content doesn’t come up where expected: edventureslab.com/glossary/
Any ideas how to fix this?

The page shows a list of terms with description but “one after the other one” and no such as in the command [glossary_atoz /].
If I try ti change with other command nothing is happening.

I’m using shortcodes which look like this: [glossary slug=’national-industrial-recovery-act-1933′]National Recovery Act of 1933[/glossary] and have tried setting tooltips to either excerpt or full. In both cases, the tooltips appear on hover showing the title but below that the initial message “loading glossary term” and then the area goes blank and what remains is only the title.
