Could you update the plugin, so it doesn’t appear abandoned?
The Plugin “WP Google Search” appears to be abandoned (updated August 3, 2022, tested to WP 6.0.9).

]]>Hello,
A few days ago my GCSE changed, I noticed that the uri which is supposed to be used for the results page is ignored:
instead of freefullpdf.com/search_gcse/gsc.tab… there is no longer search_gcse/ in the url.
However, the page exists, is active as requested in the plugin settings, there is no redirection.
The display is then completely different, since it “stays” with that of the home page.
Is there a solution to restore this tool?
Hi,
I added Hebrew support to the plugin
]]>Hello and thank you for this really useful plugin!
I have been having a problem since yesterday if I trust my GCSE statistics reports. There are no search pages edited since yesterday, while my site usually has over 5,000 a day. When we do a search, we get a 404 error. I checked in the search engine settings https://google.com/cse, it works fine. I’m not sure if it’s coming from the plugin, and I’ve read old support requests on the same subject, but I can’t find a solution (I cleared the cache, I tried several browsers, devices, with the same problem). Do you have any leads?
PS: everything is up to date.

Any tips on installing the search on the Newspaper theme using the tagdiv composer? Ideally, I’d like to replace the search box on Newspaper with WP Google Search. Anyone have any success doing that?
]]>Is it possible to have Cloudflare Rocket Loader ignore the WP Google Search from its optimization (it breaks the functionality often).
This is Cloudflare’s general Rocket Loader info on removing scripts from optimization:
https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200168056-Understanding-Rocket-Loader
Can something like that be added to a plugin update code (data-cfasync=”false” src=”/…)?
Or is there an idiot-friendly tutorial on how to fix this “manually”?
Currently, I’ve disabled the Rocket Loader, and this is my complete setup for the custom search and the plugin:

Firstly, we love this plugin! Thank you Webshoplogic ??
On 9th May 2022 the widget disappeared. I tried rolling back Elementor and Astra Theme by several versions; also rolled-back/disabled Astra Pro. Nothing helped, but then magically the following day the widget just reappeared.
Today, 13th July 2022, the widget has disappeared again. This time I’ve only rolled back Astra Pro because that was the only plugin that updated this morning. Also tried deactivating/reactivating WP Google Search plugin. No luck.
But also this morning, the site updated to WordPress 6.0.1 – I don’t know if that is just coincidental, and for the time being I haven’t tried reinstalling it.
When working, the widget should be in the header, top-right, to the left of the two social icons.
Can anyone kindly suggest the likely cause and remedy?
]]>Greetings!
Our security plugin WordFence is reporting this plugin as abandoned as of May 2020 as it hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. Is this plugin truly abandoned? Will there be any further updates to confirm it has been tested and working with the latest version of WordPress?
Thanks.
]]>Added this plugin, and removed it after five minutes.
Added a Google Programmable Search Engine via the supplied code and removed it after five minutes.
I could ask on Google about this, but people on there tend to dodge solutions, probably because none of them has a clue.
And so to the problem:
The plugin and the supplied code work well – I was using it on my homepage inside a WP Bakery text box, using the ‘compact view’ option.
‘Works well’ that is until you’ve used it once to do a search.
If you then decide to go back to the homepage and scroll down a little, the URL changes from ‘myhomepage(dot)com’ into ‘myhomepage(dot)com/?gpsrc’ or ‘#gsc.tab=0’
How would I prevent Google from stealing my homepage, or any other page where I installed the widget or code?
]]>Hello! Thanks for this good plugin. I would like to ask you two questions.
Is it possible that the search results do not show the date when the post was indexed in Google Search, but the date when the post was published on our site? Screenshot: https://ibb.co/v4JNK6D
Also, how do I exclude categories and tags from search results?

]]>How can I change the slug so it will show the search term in the URL.
For example: when I search now for the term URL the URL structure look like that:
https://example.com/search/?q=jdn#gsc.tab=0&gsc.q=url&gsc.sort=
But I need it to show like that:
https://example.com/search/url
Like on www.ads-software.com search page.
And I want it also to be indexed by google so when user search on google the term “URL” my website will be anywhere in the search result pages.
]]>hi there ,
i am having a display issue with the search bar when its in a mobile menu when displayed in Chrome. Mobile firefox displays the search bar properly. the issue is harder to troubleshoot as the preview in Chrome desktop at responsive/ mobile screen size displays the search bar properly.
would really appreciate some pointers to fix it.
We had seemingly deactivated this plugin by mistake a few days ago, not sure when. When I reactivated today we are now getting this notice or error above the search bar:
“Notice: Undefined index: hide_title in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/wp-google-search/wgs-widget.php on line 26”
“Notice: Undefined index: title in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/wp-google-search/wgs-widget.php on line 28”
Any thoughts on what could be causing this and how to resolve? Should I contact our theme support? Thankfully the font is dark and blends in with our header

Will it replace the normal wordpress search feature? so instead of WP search results page it shows google search page.
]]>Hi, is there any way of using this plugin to create a menu item, rather than a widget that has to be placed in a sidebar?
]]>I changed the default search for this site to Google Search using WP Google Search. It seems to be working but I noticed that when I click on the search icon on the top menu it does not use Google Search.
I am getting emails that state Search Console has identified that your site is affected by 1 Sitelinks search box issues:
I’m currently validating my fix but am concerned that while the search box itself is fixed that I may still get the error because the icon in the menu does not use the right search.

]]>Hi,
Per Google, their search results show ads at the top by default.
See at https://support.google.com/programmable-search/thread/45809503?hl=en
There they state there is an option to remove these ads if the results are yanked using their API
https://developers.google.com/custom-search/v1/overview
I see there are limits and pricing using this system when there are over 100 queries a day, but I think many smaller to medium sites can stay in this limit and gain from non-ads results – so please look into adding this option, to have results without ads.
Thanks.
]]>Hello,
This plugin works just fine when I’m logged-in. But when I’m logged-out I have an 404 Error and there is nothing shown on the page.
Check the page. Check also the console, there are some errors there but they also are when logged-in.
