I ended up hiding the toolbar from non-contributors thus:-
/* hide toolbar from subscribers */

}
}but I still need Kim’s plugin to ensure that subscribers looking for my admin area can only see a minimal profile page. Good stuff ??

Perfect for my Blog site whose users need just the MINIMUM of technical interaction, and were very confused by seeing all the WordPress related technical links when they went to simply change their passwords. My poor users now will not accidentally click on a link that takes them to www.ads-software.com !!! Thanks for this excellent PlugIn !

I downloaded and installed it on a beta site and it doesn’t hide anything in the subscriber dashboard. You see Jetpack and a taxonomy reorder plugin….
IT DOES hide the word “Dashboard.” Is it suppose to hide “Posts” from the navigation? If you have Jetpack installed, subscribers can deactivate and change your site for everyone. How do you hide plugins???

On my e-commerce site I allow users (subscribers) to register & create a profile so they can shop often & easily. This plug-in doesn’t allow them access to the back-end of my WordPress dashboard. I was horrified that subscribers could see orders that had been placed & the amount of each order. No more!

Works just like how I want it – WP Admin Dashboard is gone for ‘subscribers’. Although, I don’t see how to further configure this plugin via the dash, settings, or anywhere for that matter.

I just installed the plugin, but now I can’t see how to configure it. I looked at the screenshots but right under my Dashboard there’s no option Profiles. So it doesn’t work so far. What am I doing wrong?
