User Story: As a logged in user I’d appreciate the possibility in frontend (read) mode to trigger actions from the menu bar by hotkey in order to be very efficient when doing many consecutive micro edits over various pages.
I.e. “E” to “Edit Page”. I.e. Atlasssian’s Confluence Wiki does the same.
Ofc single letter hotkeys must be paused while focus is in elements which recieve text input, such as text input fields, dropdown-menus, etc.
Quite conflict free hotkeys shall be possible to achieve when using modifier keys. Maybe for frontend hotkeys the use of modifier could be even enforced, if this reduces the complexity in the plugin code for all the focus exception handling.
Related: This my request duplicates https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/hotkeys-in-frontend/ which in essence asks for the same. But to conform to this particular forum policy I created my own request.
]]>Hi,
Can I use this plugin to enable hotkeys for my end-users that access my site through the public interface (not the wp-admin).
Thanks,
Alejandro
And option to hide the key shortcuts would be ideal, ideally show them when hold down key combination, though not sure if this would mess with admin.
Just my 2c!

]]>Hello,
is there any plugin or tutorial to make the menu of the website to be used with hotkeys?
Or is it possible to configure this one for the front end menu? (main navigation of the site).
Thanks in advance.
]]>I have to disable the plugin because the performance issue, checking page load time using Chrome Development Tools:
(Before) average 8xx ms for WP admin pages
(After WP HotKeys activated) average 2.4s
]]>Hey!
I am most likely to install this but what I am really looking for is a hotkey for Update and/or Publish. I’m editing a site that is one long page and having to scroll up and down all the time is getting really tedious! Do you have anything, or know of anything, that would allow me to use a hot key to save my page?
Thanks!
Eric
Very nice plugin, can be better by supporting more admin pages.
]]>On the front end I’m wanting to create a shortcut hotkey that toggles the wordpress admin bar. Quite often the admin bar messes with fixed menus or fullscreen layouts.
Would be a killer feature if it’s not currently possible!

]]>Hi
Keys like a, t, and g don’t work in search fields in Woocommerce. If I disable your superb pluging they work again. Started perhaps when 4.3 was released?
Also it takes over the F5 key for refreshing the browser.
Cheers

]]>Very interesting plugin – I plan to make a review on it – but a little frustrating too.
Example: to write a new post, I have to use too shortcuts (p > n). But with one click, I have the same result. So, what’s the best ? One click or two shortcodes… Hard to decide.
Second “problem”: when arriving on edit post page, there is no way to use the shortcuts.
