Right now, one person only votes an idea once. He doesn’t change his vote. Is it possible to change the policy?

We are using Wp idea stream (great plugin!!!) and the user role editor. Our colleagues have all rights belonging to wp idea stream:

Delete ideas
Delete others ideas
Delete private ideas
Delete published ideas
Edit ideas
Edit others ideas
Edit private ideas
Edit published ideas
Publish ideas
Read private ideas

They can add a new idea, but they cannot vote! No error is show, but the information, that person have to wait until the saving is finished.

What can I do?

I am curious of which db table holds the users’ ratings.

I can see the result data in a ideas type post editor page in the admin panel, but I can not find it in the database.

I installed WP idea stream. Great tool! Our authors don’t have access to the wordpress backend. Therefore I am looking for plugins with frontend editing only. It seems to be that authors can write new ideas via frontend. But for editing the plugin switches to the wordpress backend. Any ideas how we allow authors to use frontend editing of their own ideas?

I have a suggestion about the Archive status, it would be nice to be able to display for the users the Archive articles but they should not be able to comment or rate those articles. Is it possible ?

No matter what I do, I keep receiving an error message after trying to add a idea: “Something went wrong while trying to save your idea”.

I disabled the plugins, the themes, and nothing solved the problem. I even tried to set the WordPress WP_DEBUG to true, but nothing about any error was printed.

Any ideas?

• GET an idea category at wp-json/wp/v2/category-ideas/{term_id}

A new status for Ideas: Archive

This new status allows you to archive ideas so that they are not listed anymore on the front-end but are always available from the “Archived” view of the Ideas Administration screen.

You can always change your mind and unarchive any archived ideas. They will be restored to their previous status.

List Ideas on your site’s static front page.

When you choose a static front page for your home page from the General Options Administration screen, you can now override this page’s content with the list of shared ideas.

Once you have set the static front page simply activate the “List the ideas on the static front page” WP Idea Stream’s setting.

WP Idea Stream’s menu items.

It’s now a lot more easier to add links to WP Idea Stream’s areas within your navigation menus.

From the Menu section of the customizer or the Menus Administration screen, you will be able to add the WP Idea Stream’s menu items of your choice inside your navigation parts.

Featured images are finally prettifying loops.

Featured images were introduced in WP Idea Stream 2.3.0 but there were only used in the single view of the idea regarding the active theme’s support.

2.4.0 finally brings them into WP Idea Stream loops and they are really looking much more prettier now!

If you prefer more classic idea loops, you can of course disable featured images from the WP Idea Stream settings’ Administration screen.

A tabbed UI for the WP Idea Stream’s Settings screen.

Settings sections are now organized into tabs to improve their readability and avoid a never ending options page!

This UI is ready to house all existing and future WP Idea Stream’s addons’ settings in this central place.

Something like a checkbox, post as “Username” or “Anonymous” for example

I need to include Add an Idea functionality to my webpage. I am currently trying to display the plugin’s template parts by creating ideastream.php template, such that the plugin does not use page.php of my theme. I have also created and included a folder that contains all the template parts.

I have referred to this document on Github and followed it : https://github.com/imath/wp-idea-stream/wiki/Ways-to-customize-the-plugin-from-your-theme

However, I am still unable to see the Add Idea section on the page.

Any suggestion would be helpful.

I am trying to use this plugin on my Ideation webpage. I need to use the shortcode of this plugin instead of using the WP Idea Stream root slug.
The root slug lets the Idea Stream content to be displayed on the whole web page and I unable to add any other content such as Image Slider and Light box on the same page. I am currently using WordPress version 4.7 and Avada themes (Version 5.0.6).
I have tried finding in the Settings of the plugin, but no luck.

Is there an existing shortcode for using this plugin, if so where can I find it?
Can anyone please help?

Great work.
I know there is a category widget, but there is no short code to build a ideas list page, and the only way to use widget is putting it into sidebar.

It would be great if there is an add-on to create a category widget above ideas list and idea content in achieve pages, so that users can easily get involved in idea activities.

Is it possible for auto email notification to the user who post comment without log in? i found that currently is manually approval while the user’s comment is awaiting moderations if they never log in.

1) Widget title colour and font size? Eg. Change the title from “New idea” to “submit idea”

2) Widget title colour and font size – Popular ideas, Top contributor and etc.

3) Menu bar and Menu Title colour and font size?

Can the public view the idea stream(all ideas) with out log in or sign up? They only need to log in or sign up if they want to rate the ideas and comment? Possible to provide some code to fix this?

i have read in a previous post that the editing time of Ideas for Users is limited to around 60 minutes. My Question is now, can i extend the time or even completely remove the time limit?

I’m going to add some other points so that we can save us some precious time and check the issue really belongs to WP Idea Stream :

• If you use a premium theme, deactivate it and activate any of the default themes that WordPress bundles (e.g.: twentyseventeen, twenty sixteen..). If the issue has magically disappeared, do not waste your time and mine posting into this forum. Post directly into the support tool of your premium theme, as you paid for it!
• If the issue is still there after you activated a WordPress default theme. Deactivate all active plugins except WP Idea Stream. If the issue has disappeared, reactivate plugins one by one to see which one is conflicting with WP Idea Stream and post a support topic here and on the conflicting Plugin support forum.
• If the issue is still there once all plugins except WP Idea Stream has been deactivated. Post a support topic into this forum making sure to describe your configuration in a full detailed way. (PHP version, Server Software, Multisite or not, specific constants in used into your wp-config.php file, etc..)

If these points are not there, i’ll guess you don’t request for my help but for the help of any other forum users.

This is a great idea for making it easy for users to share an idea.

I have tried to set it up on my site, and everything is fine, except the rating doesn’t work: The vote will not save to db, it seems.

This could be a plugin conflict. I have tried to deactivate WP Ulike, but it still doesn’t work.

Is anyone else seeing this?

It has all the function we need other than “ability to designate a request in stages (things like under consideration, in process, denied)”

I guess I could allow tagging for ideas so we can use the tags (under consideration, in process, denied).

Is there something I’m missing?
