Hello,
I tried https://sonarwhal.com which showed some errors on my website. One of them is called:
'<a href="https://www.twitter.com/blackseals" targ … "wp-links-icon" data-slimstat="5">@blackseals' is missing 'rel' values 'noopener', 'noreferrer'
It mean, I should also add “noopener” and “noreferrer” to external links. I use “Easy External Links” and enabled “Add rel=”external nofollow” to external links?”.
Therefore my question if it is possible to add both missing ‘rel’ values to this options.
Please for response.
regards Andyt
I can’t figure out how to whitelist this Url https://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/tools/cordless-power-tools/cordless-screwdrivers/. Please help. I’ve tried a lot of combinations.

Hello,

Hello,
I just installed and tested the plugin, and got very positive impression.
Thanks a lot for creating it.
I used this
Add title attribute to external links – Custom Structure
external link – %TITLE% – opens in a new tab
And then I noticed that opening to new tab work good for external links (and not for internals – which is good) but the title template is used not just for external links.
(Setting up it’s own domain to whitelist did not solved the issue)
May you please take a look on it?
Regards Michal
Hello,
I just installed the plugin, and got very positive 1st impression.
1. It just works.
2. No noticeable performance impact.
For my test, I had an image loaded from the same domain. The image was wrapped in an anchor tag with target="_blank"
to open the full size image in a new tab.
I noticed that this stopped working. It seems as if the plugin found the link is internal, and stripped out the target
attribute.
Can we disable that? And/or have a setting option to configure it?
P.S.
This is an awesome plugin. Thanks a lot for creating it.
Recently downloaded the plugin at the advice of another blogger, was told it would also correct previous external links. It’s doing neither. I have it set to add nofollow to every external link and it does zip. What gives?
It seems the plugin only works in the regular content part. Is that true?
Hi
I see that your plugin adds a “class” element to the link `txt /a>
`
But when the link reference has already a “class” element in it (eg for layout with CSS) then there is a conflict – your plugin deletes this “class” element.
How to solve?
Hi Jorge,
strange behaviour of your plugin. Just installed it, but when I want to enter the settings-page to configure it (mydomain/../wp-admin/options-general.php?page=WPLINKS_menu), I get a blank page within wordpress-backend.
Here’s the list of my installed plugins (maybe there’s a problem, with one of them): https://www.lifechange.at/easy-external-links.jpg
Thx for your help, Hannes
First, thank you for a great plugin ??
Just wondering, has it been tested compatible with WordPress 4.5 RC yet?

Kind regards,
Bjarne
The plugin works great, except it doesn’t work on bbPress links.
Am I missing a setting somewhere maybe?
Or does the plugin not support bbPress?
Hey,
the Plugin removes the _blank value in the target attribute of existing links (e.g. in post content). Beside removing the value (leaving target=””) it adds the rel attribute.
Before (in post content):
test
After:
test
Any ideas?
Thanks for a nice plugin Jorge!.. One request, could you elaborate on the changes you are making? – There seems to be no description of update 2.2.3. I’d like to keep an eye on whats going on before installing updates to plugins and themes (thinks DO break sometimes ;))
Best regards
Bjarne
I use links in Menu. Would be great that those links would open in new tab just as any other external link.
Can you please add this option?
Thanks in advance.
I use Jetpack suite including Jetpack comments module.
Users that add comments on my site, sometimes, have links in their names, links to their social profiles such as Facebook.
Would be great that those links would open in new tab just as any other external link.
Can you please add this option?
Thanks in advance.
Warning: strpos(): Empty needle in /home/wp_XXX/mylearningspringboard.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-links/wp-links.php on line 140
It’s public on many posts. I like that it adds nofollow to the external links and works really well unlike other similar plugins, but what is this and what should I do to get rid of it. Anyone else is getting the same message?
(I camouflaged the user, obviously )
Hi,
with V2.1 of this plugin my own CSS attribute to text links are simply deleted:
My code in a post:
Neu hier?
(Screenshot: https://screencloud.net/v/Q19
Here the class=”ghost-button” is:
deleted from text links
(orange marked in the following screenshot),
not from normal text,
(green marked in the following screenshot)
when I check it with Firebug (Firefox/WIN7):
https://screencloud.net/v/6v5p
Could you please fix this?
Thank you!
Problem with latest version: if no icon option is set, link still includes icon (broken) with wp-link-css style active. That CSS has margin settings, so the result is extra space where the icon should not be.
Code in plugin
if ( defined('WPLINKS_IMAGE') ) {
add_action('wp_head','WPLINKS_add_css');
$style = ' class="wp-links-icon"';
}
appears to add the CSS all the time, because you are using ‘defined’, and that variable is defined at the top of the code, so it will always be true.
Code needs to be changed to check the setting of the variable, not if the variable has been defined.
See this page for example of extra spacing after the external link: https://www.jerrypournelle.com/chaosmanor/harried-but-still-going/
Hi WP Links,
I am using WP Links since a few years from now and a few days ago I noticed an issue with a recent update.
My current settings for the app are simple : no box is ticked in the admin except the option to open external links into another tab. But since the last update, all external links on my site are tagged with “external nofollow” and a wp-link-icon class, even if those two options are not activated in my admin.
Is this a problem you noticed?
Thanks
Hi,
i have this Problem with the newest Version (2.0):
“Warning: strpos(): Empty needle in /…/wp-links/wp-links.php on line 142”
So i had to switch to 1.9.5. WP is 4.4 and PHP is 5.6.

Hello,
I am a user: “Plugin WP Links”. I see no functional Plugin “Options page for Domain Exclude nofollow”. Authors may wish to add that feature.
I hope that the author can add the “Exclude Options page for Domain”.
Thanks!
Is it possible to open external links in an iframe ??
Hi,
I have de-activated the option
Add title attribute to external links?
because I would like to show my own link title, not just the link text.
But when I use then this code – just an example:
GOOGLE
then the link title is not shown at all.
However, when I activate the plugin’s option
Add title attribute to external links?
then just the link text is shown and not my own link title.
The same problem occurs by the way, if you use plugins like “Restore Link Title Field” – with WP LINKS active, the link title added with “Restore Link Title Field” is simply ignored, too.
Could you please fix this, so that it is possbile with WP LINKS to add an own link title, too?
Thank you.
The core feature of “open link in new tab” does not works as the links just open in the same tab when wp links is activated on my website https://exampariksha.com . Everything used to work just perfect earlier :p
Hi,
I’ve tried an external link to Google, it opens correctly in a new window, but the icon is not shown at all:
https://screencloud.net/v/ncpE
Any idea why it is not shown?
My site is still in maintenance mode, hope the screenshot helps as well.
Maybe a path problem to the CSS inside the plugin?
I use WP 4.1 as a multisite. WP-Links is only enabled at one of the sub-blogs.
Thanks.
I installed WP Links on a wordpress site which was also running the Digg Digg plugin and I noticed that part of my content was cut at the beginning of an article
Here is the html code rendered in the browser without WP Links activated :

Parce que les Cara?bes et l’Amérique Latine sont des destinations idéales pour immortaliser son voyage à l’aide d’une GoPro (on pense tout de suite à la plongée sous marine), le groupe Marriott et GoPro se sont rapprochés pour proposer aux clients de 17 h?tels Marriott de tester la nouvelle GoPro 4 sur simple demande à la réception durant leur séjour .

and here is the code rendered in the browser with WP Links activated :
GoPro 4 sur simple demande à la réception durant leur séjour .

When I deactivate the Digg Digg plugin it’s working fine, and the link is not added at the beginning of the article.
Hope we can find a way to have both Digg Digg and WP Links running on a WordPress blog, as both are really useful plugins.
Thanks
I couldn’t reply to the last support question but I wanted to let everyone know that if you link an image in a post it will spawn a new tab.
Dear Jorge, thank you for making a wonderful plugin. Would you be able to help me out:
The WP Links plugin will work if the visitor clicks on [Read entire post] but it won’t work if they click on the image or title. In other words, a new window will not open if they click on the image or title.
Can you try visiting my site at https://www.mentrends.net and scroll to the bottom until the word (Loading…) appears and click on any external links at the newly generated pins?
Thanks and warm regards,
Peter
