Today I turned on the WP log viewer because the media cleaner program is constantly sending an error message. “The server sent an error.”

I tried to run the media cleaner program again but the screen remains blank and the program cannot load.

Please check that you are not at fault.

Hi I love this plgin but I use it on multisite and only want super admins to be able to access the error log.

There is a simple change/fix that would enable this

Eiher change the capability check in the check_if_authorized function to “update_plugins” or a similar multisite safe capability OR add a filter so this can be changed via code (without editiing the core plugin.

Sorry to say but this doesn’t work anymore with WP 5.5 update. DOM errors and other…

Is it possible tyto make this support multisite better. At the moment the plugin boots up and is visible to admins but this is pretty pointless as the information is only really useful to those with super admin access (as those are the only people who can make changes to the code).

Can I suggest you change the capability check hen displaying this plugins output to update_plugins?

When I deactivate the WP Log Viewer the error message is gone.

From Yoast SEO version 9.4 and higher, the Yoast SEO “Snipplet Preview” goes blank when WP Log Viewer v1.2.1 is activated. This issue is described here:

I activated the plugin, when I try to view the log I get this:
Debugging is enabled. However, the debug.log file does not exist or was not found.
Any idea?

1. Admin > Plugins > View version details
2. Admin > Plugins > View plugin details

Clicking either link in Admin > Plugins results in a popup (good) and error in your main.min.js file (bad).

Hi guys,

I’ve been editing a post using Gutenberg 3.3.0 and if I have WP Log Viewer enabled, the image block displays an error “This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed.” This is both when trying to upload or select a media image, but also viewing images that have already been inserted in the post and previously saved.

I do have a bunch of other plugins installed, but I’ve done a plugin conflict test and it seems to be WP Log Viewer is the only plugin causing the issue. Keen to help debug this, let me know if I can be of any further help.

Due to the slow internet while traveling this plugin often reports weird WordPress wp-includes related errors and I have to clear those again and again.

Wish there was a way to ignore such errors once in for all.

I have a huge debug log file and would be able to toggle Auto Refresh as by the time it refreshes the log, it starts the auto refresh again, so the tab ends up crashing and I don’t get to see my log

what are types of errors to create on custom and even their error keys?

I just installed this plugin and have made the changes in wp-config.php as described. The plugin seems to work, except for this message:

Debugging is enabled. However, the debug.log file does not exist or was not found.

Where should the log file reside?

I followed the directions and added the wplv-config file to my root directory and modified wp-config to enable the error toggle feature of this plugin and it seems that the log is actually working, despite it saying that it is “disabled” as it is registering errors. However, there doesn’t appear to be a way to turn the feature on or off.

I noticed that the search facility doesn’t look into file names (originating the log line).

I think that would be a useful addition. And while we’re at it, why not search in the line number?
I understand it could mean to reverse the search/parse logic, but maybe not, so I suggest.

Hey. This plugin is great.

There appears to be a conflict with Gutenberg. My guess would be that the problem is related to the fact that both projects load React (also different versions). Gutenberg is going to be merged into the WordPress core soon. Thanks.

The plugin is installed and activated.
I have added the 3 lines to my config.php OK
define(‘WP_DEBUG’, true);
define(‘WP_DEBUG_LOG’, true);
define(‘WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY’, false);

…but the plugin says “debugging is currently disabled”.

What have I missed?

Hi! I want to report that if you use print_r command with option TRUE to get the content of an array in the log like this:
$output = print_r($data, TRUE);

The log viewer only shows this:

Can the plug-in be changed that it displays the whole string?

Hello!

The plugin Debug Bar uses the following CSS:
.debug-status {
float: left;
margin-right: 40px;
}

This causes the status in the admin bar to be disaligned. Is it possible to change the class name or to add some CSS to correct this?

I have a small feature request: please add a filter to the log_file location in the init() method of the Log class. This is usefull for developers who have a custom log file location. Example below:

Installed the plugin on 4.7.2 and on activation received this error:
