Hello,
The plugin was working great for me for several years. For the last few months (since June or July), my list has not been able to connect to the inbox with a “SSL negotiation failed” message.
I have tried using all of the settings provided by my mail host but none of them work with WP Mailster. I tried Thunderbird as a test, and I have had no trouble retrieving the emails (using the same settings), so it seems I am having trouble with the plugin.
Any idea what could be causing this?
]]>Our ISP address at Bluehost was recently on a UCEPROTECTL3 blacklist, and I am wondering if our listserv may have done this. The reason is that people on this list like to respond with “Thanks” and that leads to many emails from the same sender. Also I do not have an unsubscribe link in the emails. We have 20 people on this list. Am I possibly the culprit, or someone else at my shared hosting provider? Can I improve my compliance with CAN-SPAM?
]]>Dear Mailster support team,
I am using your plugin since a while now with quite good success.
However, since a couple of days (weeks?), I am getting these error messages:
Sending of mail 498 failed! Last error: Could not instantiate mail function. Error No: 0, Message: MstMailer::Send failed: “MstMailer::Send failed: “Could not instantiate mail function.”.”.
With a smaller mailing list (3 recipients), everything works fine.
With a larger mailing list (39 recipients), I constantly get this error and the mails will sit in the “Queued Emails” list.
I tried to use BCC or not to use BCC: no influence.
I am using POST SMTP as a plugin and have checked “WP Mail” with the Mailster mailing list setup. Could this generate the conflict?
However, when sending as an admin of the mailing list, it seems to work. But sending from within the recipients will obviously generate this error. I checked all settings but they seem correct!
What could generate the above error?
Thanks for your support!
Kind regards
Michael

]]>Hello WP Mailster support ??
For two weeks, our WordPress site has been generating a warning regarding a problem with the “WP Mailster Society” extension.
The error message (sorry for the French text) is the following “An error of type E_ERROR was caused on line 187 of the file /home/fxtbmyb/www/prod/wp-content/plugins/wp-mailster/ classes/mst_archived .php Error message: Uncaught ArgumentCountError: 4 arguments are required, 3 given in /home/fxtbmyb/www/prod/wp-content/plugins/wp-mailster/classes/mst_archived.php:187

After some research, I can’t find where or why this error occurs. At the same time, we encountered problems with mail delivery.
Our versioning platform is:
Do you have any idea if this error is so serious and is there any solution to fix it?
Thank you in advance for your answers ?? .
Good evening Brandtoss
I hope you’re doing well.
In the global configuration of WPMailster, a “Log file warning size limit” option should warn the WP site administrator that a certain limit has been exceeded. In what form is the alert made to the administrator that this limit has been exceeded?
Vincent.
]]>There’s one setup I haven’t managed to get working exactly like I want it to, and I’d like to know if there’s some way to do this.
I have a website that runs many mailing lists, one general and many subgroups. I want each subgroup to get the send-outs from the general list.
The solution I have thus far is that when someone signs up to any subgroup, they get put into a user group with a suitable name, which the general list sends too.
This works just fine until someone unsubscribes. Because if someone, who is only subscribed to a subgroup gets a general email and follows the unsubscribe link, they get removed from the user group but stay in the subgroup email list. What I would like is that if a user tries to unsubscribe from the general group, they instead get unsubscribed from the subgroup (if they are not subscribed to the general list). Is this possible?
]]>When I tested the forms using Firefox, it worked fine without bugs nor delays. However, when submitting the forms using Safari, nothing happens. A small rotating wheel appears and then nothing.
When testing this also seems to be the case with Chrome, but only sometimes. I cannot reproduce this consistently.
This is the shortcode I use:
[mst_subscribe id=”1″ hideList hideName buttonTxt=”Subscribe” emailLabel=”Your email: ” thankTxt=”You are now on the mailing list. You should have received a confirmation email in your inbox.”]
I hope this is fixable, since this plugin provides almost everything we need, but without usable forms we unfortunately have to look elsewhere.

I had similar issues a couple years ago with installing Mailster and your response was that for some reason it didn’t correctly install the databases correctly and that you could not recreate the issue on your end. Well, I gave up then but now nearly 2 years later I thought I’d try again, only to receive these errors. I have installed a lot of plugins and never had an issue with database tables not being able to be created. I’d likely be a paying customer if it would just install correctly!

Everything works, except for the submitTxt and headerTxt. The header is simply missing, and the submit text is the default “Thank you for subscribing”. How do I fix this?

]]>upgrading from 1.8.6 to 1.8.7 emails stop being sent.
Curiously they are added to the queue, with (No Subject).. and then are added again each time the CRON runs. 9,000 emails in the queue before I noticed.
Downgrading to v1.8.6 and everything returned to normal
]]>About 10 days ago after the update to 1.8.4, all email sending stopped working – everything was stuck in the queue. I came here and saw others with the same issue, with the recommendation to upload the 1.8.4 development version linked in the other thread. I tried that – and it empied out all of my configuration settings for the plugin – my email sending settings, lists were wiped out, subscribers, etc. My only option was to restore a backup of the full site from a prior to the update on 1/16/23, to get things back up and running.
Fast forward a week, I thought I had removed this plugin from auto-updates so that email sending would not be interrupted, but then once again I’m notified that someone is trying to send an email and nothing is going out. Turns out it updated again back to 1.8.4 – and all sending has stopped. This time I went i and restored just the plugin files from a backup pre-dating 1/16, with version 1.8.3.
I can’t be the only one having this issue, are there any plans to address thee root problem and get an updated version rolled out? This plugin has worked great for 4 years prior to this, I’m really hoping I don’t have to look for an alternative, but I do need to be able to reliably send emails…
]]>Dear support team,
while you are solving the current issue with version 1.8.4.0, you should as well have a look to the {Date} variable, which should reflect the correct date AND time of the WordPress time zone.
In my area (Germany), the email date/time indicated in the emails is one hour ahead of the real sending date…
Kind regards
Michael

Suggested improvement: It would be great if site administrator/developer can add to the contents of the unsubscribe email.
Instead of the one sentence “You unsubscribed from LIST with the email address [email protected]” that this message could be extended.
I edited your Plugin code (the ultimate WordPress developer’s sin) to extend the message with custom text.
]]>I have purchased WP Mailster Enterprise version 1.8.3.3 invoice #16421.
@brandtoss could you please direct me to the priority ticketing support system that comes with this purchase.

A remark on the header
List-Subscribe: <mailto:[email protected]?subject=subscribe>
List-Unsubscribe: <mailto:[email protected]?subject=unsubscribe>
would be more useful as
List-Subscribe: <mailto:[email protected]?subject=subscribe LIST NAME>
List- Unsubscribe: <mailto:[email protected]?subject=unsubscribe LIST NAME>
because now we know which list the recipient wants to unsubscribe from.
My email client, if it finds the unsubscribe header, inserts a unsubscribe message as the first line and if clicked and confirmed sends an empty email to [email protected] with the subject line as defined above.
Are these List-headers really necessary? They seem to be a legacy of Mailman.
Who looks at the mail headers for List-Post and List-Help?
I am evaluating WP Mailster, and the following warning is logged every minute or so
[13-Oct-2022 11:02:02 UTC] PHP Warning: session_start(): Session cannot be started after headers have already been sent in /home/np/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-mailster/wp-mailster.php on line 1791
accumulating about 200K of these messages every 24 hours
Would
if (!session_id()) {
if(!headers_sent()) session_start();
}
resolve this?

For example, they all have a string of 32 zero’s (00000000000000000000000000000000) in them, which is not unique and could be removed, right? Can you fix this, please? My emails are not getting through and this is the ONLY negative mark I’ve seen in Mail Genius scoring.
]]>Goodnight all
I’m using WP Mailster version 1.8.1 on a WordPress 6.0.1. I have a notification when displaying the list of List Members interface.
This notification appears as many times as there are members in this list and it is displayed in this form:
Notice: Undefined offset: 0 in /home/username/www/prod/wp-content/plugins/wp-mailster/models/MailsterModelUser.php on line 84
Is it due to a PHP conf problem on the server where my WordPress site is installed? A problem with the creation/configuration of users for this site?
NB: I specify that these lists function completely correctly.
Thank you in advance for your answers.
