It will be great for us that use other plugins to handle our content. Unless you go into the post editor and re save, it does not auto share. Its one of the best mastodon autoshare plugins i’ve seen so far, but its there a way to modify the plugin to auto share posts made by other plugins without having to edit and re save post before it toot?
Thanks for the great plugin!
]]>publishing a post creates a post on my mastodon instance, but it never loads. https://www.stevenstern.me/2022/12/wordpress-to-mastdon-sharing-test/
]]>I’m having the same problem another user reported 4 years ago: In the “Toot Editor” control panel, the message “Loading, please wait…” appears in the editing area, but nothing ever takes its place.
I assume that what’s supposed to happen here is that a Mastodon message begins to form as I type, using the title, permalink, and other items based upon my configuration of Mastodon Auto Share. But that never happens.
However, I have discovered that I can delete the “Loading, please wait…” message and replace it with any custom text I want, including a permalink (or wp.me shortlink) and this text will be sent to Mastodon.
If I attempt to enter the shortcodes used in the “Advanced Configuration” tab of the Mastodon Auto Share settings, the shortcodes are sent to Mastodon instead of the text from the post. (For example, [title] displays “[title]” and not the post title.)
So I can make this plugin work for my needs, but I have to do extra work that I’d hoped would be done automatically.
]]>The test post works fine in my account at mastodon.xyz, however the widget shown on the sidebar of the article editor always shows “Loading, please wait …” and posting like that doesn’t post the actual article.
I thought some of my Javascript / filtering extensions were interferring (using Firefox in Debian) but was able to reproduce this in Chromium too.

Toots published by the plugin when using brand new Gutenberg post editor don’t display a text but “Loading wait…”.

Using Mastodon Share 1.3 on WordPress 4.9.5.
Anyone else has this problem?
I enter the instance (mastodon.social) and click the “Obtain access key” button. All that happpens is that I see a blank frame next to the admin menu. I’m using the latest chromium on linux with Ublock Origin installed but nothing else that should block data as suspected malware. I disabled Ublock but the same failure occurs.
