I upgraded to Media Recovery Pro and initiated a recovery of all files in the uploads directory.
The background task ran and then stopped with about 500 files remaining after recovering about 2200 files.
I tried restarting the recovery as advised using the “Start Over” button but nothing happened.
Now the message ” 0 found in library, 0 oversized, 0 hidden, 0 selected, and 0 files left for recovery page 1 of 0 with total 0 files” shows, although images can be seen in the media library. I have no options for recovery since no files are shown.
I disables Pro version and reloaded the free version. Scrolling through pages (with the “Next” button) shows images in the library but eventually comes across images which need to be recovered (red eye).
I eventually had to finish recovery by using the free version and recovering 10 files at a time.
]]>I use the free version of Media Library Recovery without issue. I am NOT interested in upgrading to the PRO version at this time. The upgrade banner continues to display after repeatedly clicking “Don’t show this notice again! button. This is poor practice you should discontinue.
I will NOT upgrade to PRO due to this nagging process of not being able to remove the upgrade banner.

]]>Hi, we use LsCache with the Image Optimization feature enabled, which creates duplicates in WEBP format (with file extension .jpg.webp) and backups of the original unoptimized images with file extension .bk.jpg in the library folder. When trying Media Library Recovery to recover older images, we find that the plugin will detect all .webp and .bk files as well and proposes to “recover” them.
Is there any way to filter out specific file extensions before running a recovery?
]]>After installing the plugin clicking the link under the plugin name on the plugin page the page wont load. It even causes an unusually high php-load on the server and I get an 503 if I let it load to long.
Had this on wordpress 6.4.2 and php 8.2 and 8.3. We don’t support any other php anymore so can’t test on 8.1 or 8.
Also no errors are logged in the logs. And also no console errors.
]]>Somehow plugin can not scan symlink.
I imported two quite a big wordpress sites (10 years of posts). These sites have different domains and post language but shares images (580M) via symlink. All old images are visible in new installation (apache2 follows symlinks) and symlinks are working for all users (owner, root, www-data). I put symlink in wp-content/upload/2022/11 folder and everything is fine…. only not for worpress and this media library plugin- images are invisible. If I copy files directly, magically your plugin can see them. It will be additional 1G of storage?? No way.
The only good news is that sites are working and showing old images (the symlink mimics old site structure and post have “/stuff/images/file.gif” inside.
And how about new posts? Duplicate all images?
]]>I Installed Media Library Recovery but it isn’t working. I can see the files I want to restore but when I click on the files it does nothing though I know I should be able to restore and manipulate them.
]]>my blog resides in domain.com/blog and the uploads in domain.com/uploads, so in the wp media settings i set ../uploads as the media folder but now a image from 2013 is recovered with url https://www.domain.com/uploads//srv/home/domaincom/domains/domain.com/htdocs/domain/blog/uploads/2014/02/image.jpg – where it does not reside….
]]>So does this create duplicate files or simply duplicate db entries?
]]>Plugin displays blue-eye icon for all images, but none appear in the media library except two manually added yesterday. Upload files do contain all images.
Running WP 6.2, Template is Twenty Twenty-two.
]]>Hi,
It looks like this great tool is not scanning all the years and months.
Some images which are from 2020 are not showing in the recovery tool.
Can you help me out?
]]>Whenever I click “Library Recovery” the browser seems to load then throws an HTTP 500 error.
]]>After selecting 10 images and clicking the ‘Recover Media’ button the icon on the selected images remains a green check mark.
Upon page refresh the green check mark returns to red eye hidden icon. Paging back and forth same thing. The seemingly just recovered images are still there.
The images are being recovered.
They just never get the marked with the blue eye ‘files already recovered icon’ making it hard to tell/keep track of what has been restored and what has not.
]]>I do not know why mu images do not appear visible in the media library or anywhere else. I tried using the recovery plugin but with no luck.
