]]>We were having an issue a while back where a lot of our site’s visitors would see the results without getting to vote, so we changed the logging method from “Logged by Cookie and IP” to “Logged by Cookie” so that users with the same IP address that were geographically close wouldn’t run into this issue.
A ways down the road, we had a user question our data from a recent poll, and when I went to check the log for that poll, it said “No poll logs available for this poll.” I checked the database and see that the last entry in the wp_pollsip table was about the time we changed the logging method.
If the plugin isn’t storing the votes in this table if I have this logging method selected, where can I access the vote data? It really be a much more accurate feature to just log everything in the database but have the admin option instead be about selecting the method to limit votes per IP or cookie or both.

]]>My polls haven’t been working for some time because no one can vote. It shows people that they have already voted in the poll even though they have not voted. Only I (admin) voted and then the survey seems to be blocked. As if everyone had the same cookies? Please provide some contact details as I don’t want to post my website here.

The question was asked a few months ago and closed without reply, I am asking the same one: How to give access to polls (creation etc) to editors?
I modified the “Set ‘manage_polls’ Capabilities To Administrator” (2016 of wp-polls.php) to
$role = get_role( ‘editor’ );
But editor accounts still have no access to the polls menu… And that would be reversed to next update, so it isn’t that good…

]]>im wanting to recreate a service like what ranker. com does… but the key is that I would want to have some sort of auto fill in type data file that if someone wants to add another option they would start typing it in and it would ‘try to guess’ what they were saying.
Basically I would preload in the top 20 answers I would expect people to be voting for but when they go to add more entries they could but they may be choosing really from around 500 more that was in a text file backing that answer block.
So each poll would need on the admin side an extra field where a comma delimited list of additional choices could be pasted.

For example, 200 are from country X, 5 are from country Y, 300 are from an unknown location.

I am helping a client and need to migrate from an older WP install to a new clean install. I have searched here in the support forum for any information regarding export and import and found this but I hope it’s possible anyway.
I have tried to find where and what I need to extract from the old db. So far I have found these tables wp_pollsa, wp_pollsq, wp_pollsip and some settings in wp_options. Is there anything else I should bring with me to the new setup?

And then i saw the a note :If your logging method is by IP and Cookie or by Cookie, users may still be unable to vote if they have voted before as the cookie is still stored in their computer.

]]>Hello, sorry for my beginner question. I have a question about the log of votes of a poll. If I set only with cookies (without Ip) and someone has turned off cookies, what is then entered in the log file. Do I see for any single vote, a unique computer ID, Ip, time, date etc. I started a test run on Xamp and in the php admin I only see the total number of votes no details (with only cookies set). Can someone explain to me where I can find a detailled log of the votes or show me a log when only cookies are set. Thx in advance
]]>I tend to only do very rare polls using WP-Polls on specific posts, but otherwise all of my posts still load the polls-js.js file and that’s wasteful. I’m wondering, does anybody know an automated way in which I can just load the javascript file, but only on posts that actually include a poll?
]]>I put the same poll on a page as well as the sidebar of a website. When I click to see votes in the sidebar or even to vote, nothing happens, but all changes occur on the one on the page which comes earlier in the html code. Can this little problem be fixed so that wherever I vote or check results, the change happens right there?
