It seems that your WP Realtime Sitemap plugin has been abandoned or you don’t have time to maintain it, since it was last updated 6 years ago. There are deprecated functions that need updating and also Notices/Warnings/Errors that should be resolved to make it compatible with the latest WordPress and PHP versions.
Since there are still many of people using it, I would be willing to help maintain or adopt it to continue development where you left off.
Would you be willing to add me as a committer as explained here? I will then be responsible for future development, maintenance, updates and to ensure the plugin complies with all WP plugin guidelines.

Hi, if this plugin is still supported, are you able to do a mini update so it’s not shown as out of date. My Wordfence scan keeps telling me:

I would like to be able to show some custom post types, but not others. I am reading the above to mean that I should be able to use the following shortcode, for example, to show only those items of custom post type clg_speechoutline:

However, when I try to use that as a shortcode, it doesn’t work. Indeed, nothing in that list seems to work as a shortcode. Am I misreading the instructions? Is there some other code I could use to show only that custom post type?

But the problem is it’s not showing the pages in hierarchy. It’s just listing all the pages as against to hierarchy.

I have just installed your plug in and I am trying to get it to work with a Menu that i have created. I know the “Menu Name” but when I put that in your “Menu ID” field it comes back with an error message of “Menu Settings > Menu ID: This must be alpha-numeric for it to be valid, please try again.”.
Can you please tell me where do I find/look for menu ID. I don’t see it where I created the menu and I researched online to try to find the answer and am having no luck.

Your plugin have a compatibility issue with last version of php.
You use dynamic variables names like this :
$$all_options['first_order']
but it is ambigous like explained here : https://php.net/manual/en/language.variables.variable.php
In order to use variable variables with arrays, you have to resolve an ambiguity problem. That is, if you write $$a[1] then the parser needs to know if you meant to use $a[1] as a variable, or if you wanted $$a as the variable and then the [1] index from that variable. The syntax for resolving this ambiguity is: ${$a[1]} for the first case and ${$a}[1] for the second.
Consequence : sitemap is not displayed and a lot of notices are displayed on frontend and backend settings page.
The solution is to replace the code by :
${$all_options['first_order']}
I’m trying to exclude certain custom post types from the sitemap. I don’t know how to find the numerical ID of the custom post types to exclude. Any tips?
]]>WP Realtime Sitemap does not work any more on my site.
I have used the German version with PHP version 7.
The following behaviour occurs:
1. When I enter values in the sitemap administration panel, the values are mostly not saved or do not show up after I have saved them. The affected fields are the “Limit” fields in the English version.
2. When I enter the menu ID (which I got from the URL in the menu administration panel), this value is also not saved in the realtime sitemap administration panel. Maybe I would have to use another ID, but this is what I had found on some forum.
3. Whichever configuration I use, the realtime sitemap does not show up on my site.
My site only has shown a message that this sitemap has been created with WP realtime sitemap, so it seems to me, that the realtime sitemap plugin does show some behavior. I have just used [wp-realtime-sitemap]. You can see the current behaviour on “https://www.lions-club-aschheim.eu/sitemap/”. I have taken the sitemap from the main menu.

If you have enabled (and used) HTML in the category descriptions on your site, it messes up the WP Realtime Sitemap formatting. The sitemap uses the category description as the link “title” attribute and the title attribute can’t deal with any HTML (in our case, a href links) – it ends up displaying part of the category description on the page.
The simple solution is to strip out html tags for the category description by modifing “wp-realtime-sitemap/wp-realtime-sitemap.php” changing:
$posts .= '<li><a href="' . get_category_link($category->term_id) . '" title="' . $category->category_description . '">' . $category->name . '</a><ul>';
To
$posts .= '<li><a href="' . get_category_link($category->term_id) . '" title="' . strip_tags($category->category_description) . '">' . $category->name . '</a><ul>';
