I have a site hosted with Flywheel. I don’t know if this is an issue with the latest WPEngine/Flywheel and WordPress/Automattic drama, but I do not have the link in the plugins to rollback if I need to.

Hello,
After I upgraded a plugin on the website, the wp-rollback plugin started to throw errors:
PHP Recoverable Error: Uncaught exception 'TypeError' with message 'strpos(): Argument #1 ($haystack) must be of type string, stdClass given' in /app/web/wp-content/plugins/wp-rollback/wp-rollback.php on line 484, request: GET /wp-admin/plugins.php, request_id: b89a274f8c5c34a42774f7bc4f1d2b5a
Thanks,

]]>Hello,
I currently have an old installation of WordPress v4.7.29. I tried downloading your plugin to rollback a certain theme, but it says it’s only compatible with v6.0+. I’m trying to find out which is the latest version of your plugin compatible with my WordPress. Is there somewhere where I could find this information?
Thanks!
]]>I cannot upgrade WP beyond 5.8 at the moment and it is exceedingly ANNOYING for plugins to keep “notifying” there is an upgrade when the upgrade is NOT compatible with your core WP version – so the suggestion is the following:
Remove update notifications from the plugins that are not current releases if the new release is NOT compatible with the version of WordPress installed. Maybe change the text color of the version info in the plugins page but pull all the “Notices” out of the dashboard and menus… so frustrating!!!
Also, I CANNOT USE WP for ecommerce purposes because it is CONSTANTLY being broken by updates – which is why I had to FREEZE the version – otherwise I might as well go back to static pages for my information websites because WP is simply NOT useable if a stable version (and plugins) cannot be frozen!
]]>Hello,
I installed rollback plugin and tried to rollback elementor plugin from its current 3.21.5 version to 3.21.4 but this is the message I am getting:
Downloading update from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/elementor_old.3.21.4.zip…
Download failed. Not Found.
Could you please advise what I should do? I tried to rollback to more outdated versions but I still get the same message.
Thank you
]]>I have installed the WP Rollback plugin today to solve an issue I am having with the Jetpack plugin.
When I click on “rollback” from the Jetpack plugin menu (and all other plugins too), the “loading” circle goes endless and I cannot get any further.
I have cleared cache of the site several times too but it does not seem to work.
Is there any troubleshooting info to help solve this?
]]>So I got in touch with my Hosting company at Krystal to confirm a few things:
Regarding the sub-directory issue:
Hi there DeeVeeArr, many thanks for reaching out.
No, that is the primary domain on your account and as such will be served from the public_html directory:
and:
I am not sure I am afraid, what were they asking about the subdirectory for, do you know? Ideally they would know best on how to resolve an issue with their plugin.
(On a sidenote here, I also run a one-page website with WP Rollback version 2 enabled, using the same hosting company, which seems to work fine).
Going back to the previous issue:
Yeah there’s nothing server-wise that would limit that on one site and not the other – it could be a plugin incompatibility if that particular site uses different plugins than the others, but I’d expect them to be able to see that if they are investigating.
and:
Yeah that will not be server related then I am afraid, if there were PHP conflicts for instance that would reflect across your whole cPanel account, not just that one domain.
So then, I decided to try the error logs and asked if they could see anything in there:
Yeah I’ve also had a look and I’m not seeing anything related to that plugin I am afraid.
And finally:
I do apologize there isn’t more we could do there, however as mentioned if they want us to check anything again please do let us know.
So that’s where we stand at present.

Thanks for your plugin! It’s been working great for me for a long time, until I upgraded from v1.7.3 to v2.0.6.

Hi there,
I’ve ver 2.0.3 installed. This is just to inform you, that I see the following query monitor alert when editing posts:
Message Function register_rest_route was called incorrectly. The REST API route definition for wp-rollback/v1/fetch-info is missing the required permission_callback argument. For REST API routes that are intended to be public, use __return_true as the permission callback. (This message was added in version 5.5.0.)
Caller register_rest_route()
Just like another visitor of this supportforum i can not rollback any plugin. It results i a white screen with the text ‘no permission to rollback.’ However in my case the wp-config file was not hacked. I really have no idea what the reason behind this error can be. Is there a way you can help out?
]]>Every version of WP Rollback after version 2.0 just hangs and never completes, even after making numerous coffees.
I found a version 1.7.2 version after seeing that other users were having this problem, but managed to upgrade to version 1.7.3 and it still worked.
I suppose then that the question is:
Will I need to find a new ‘rollback’ plugin (to stop Wordfence nagging that there is a newer version available) as version 2 and onwards of this rollback plugin just does not work anymore?
