Thanks for the great plugin.
I’m sad to report after the latest upgrade all the posts disappeared from the timeline.
I turned on debugging and saw:

Unfortunately I don’t have time right now to debug your code, but hopefully this gets you started.

Hi
very happy to see that somebody has developed a plugin to insert Simile Timelines in a post. Thanks a lot. I have several general newbnie questions:
— I am developing a multisite setting, with 4 (subdomain) sites. I wish to insert a Timeline within a single post of a single site. However, the plugin connects to the Simile’s repository even when a page from a different site is called, doesn’t it? Is there a way to avoid that?
— May I configure the plugin somehow as to avoid connection to an external repository?
— I would like very much to use the plugin to show my own timelines, with data from a dedicated db table (or xml file). Is there any way to use it so?
Thanks
Cheers
mario

]]>Hey,
I was wondering if it is possible for the Entrys in the Timeline to show only a kind of “preview” like, i don’t know, 200 characters or something like that and then “cut” it out and show a -read more- link to the entry on wordpress. I′m working with a lot of text and this is really bugging me. Is there a solution to this ?
Thanks in advance ??
BTW:
Your plugin is really cool and saved me a lot of time ??
I’d like to use several timelines with WP SIMILE Timeline but I can’t find the way to do it.
Is it possible to generate severam timelines? And if it is, how can I do !
Thank you very much !
See topic title.
I’ve installed the plugin and set up all my posts with start and end times but the timeline will only scroll backwards in time not forwards.
]]>I’m running a wordpress (multi)site on a Windows IIS server. With the WP SIMILE Timeline plugin installed, I’m not able to enter post dates prior to 1902. I’ve had a look through the adodb-time.inc.php file, but don’t know enough about PHP to see what might be causing the problem. It does look like pre 1901/1902 could be a different class of date, but that’s about as much as I can figure out.
Is there a known solution to this? Just want to make sure I’m not missing something obvious.
Thanks!

Any movement on this issue?
Hi.
I am a teacher and this program is great for having students contribute to a timeline. I used it in the past but had to host it on my own server. Now it is compatible with WordPress. Here is my question:
How can I have the timeline pull data from a google spreadsheet?
Thanks for the help.
]]>This plugin does come with a sweet admin interface but some informations are not being saved.
For example i cannot change a thing in Design,(even if i did, after save it becomes the default value). I can use post categories but i cannot seem to use custom taxonomies.
I’ve uninstalled deleted few times before coming here . So that didnt change ??
Any help is appriciated

]]>Hi Tim,
I love this plugin but it seems to have stopped displaying events for me.
I checked the xml file mentioned in the readme and nothing is in there. I checked that my settings are correct for the section and that post were set to display and they are right.
Something is going on as when Simile Timeline loads is does so for the right date (of the first post). It just doesn’t show anything.
The page concerned is here:
https://ww1daily.com/pictorial-timeline/
Not sure if it might be connected with the issues mentioned in this thread of 4th December:

Any help much appreciated…

]]>Hey,
I’ve been trying to not only put one-day events into my timeline, but also events that cover several months. In the sample timelines, these are always marked with a beam.
When I put the start/end dates into the SIMILE box on the post and click the boxes, then save the post, the time settings in the SIMILE box are set back to today instead of keeping the date I’ve put in.
Not sure where the error is, but I could use some help on how to add these events with a duration.
Thank you!

]]>Hi there,
I am using the timeline in a family history, where there are plenty of pre-1970 dates. Simile Timeline seems to look at the post date to get the date which it uses in placing the post on the timeline.
Can I configure Simile to look at another field – say, a custom date field? Currently most of my family history looks like it happened in 1970!
I love your plugin.
