When I try to add the SimpleViewer gallery to a page, I get this error:
Error 403 - Forbidden
You don't have permission to access the requested resource. Please contact the web site owner for further assistance.I tried changing the uploads folder to 777 but that did not help. Any suggestions?

I would love to use the Simpleviewer plugin, but I can’t manage to get the display right. I want thumbnails at the left and a full image at the right, but that won’t work. I only get thumbnails and when I click those the full image. I’ve tried it with uploaded images, nextgen, with and without flash, different plugin settings, watched other support threads, nothing seems to work.
I hope someone can help me out with this!

I have this issue: I updated the NextGEN Gallery by Photocrati from Versione 2.0.66.37 to actual 2.0.74, but having problems with my simple viewer gallery: suddenly all SimpleViewer gallery disappeared.
I have a lot of gallery in my website so, once restored the previous version of database, I decided to cancel the NextGEN Gallery plug-in in order to avoid having a plug-in in conflict with simple viewer.
Problem is: even if I cancel NextGEN Gallery , Simple Viewer galleries disappears! (I tried first to de-activate the NextGEN Gallery and cancel plug-in from WP Admin panel , and then removing the folder from ftp)…
I don’t know what to do I would prefer not to have a plug-in I cannot update …
Does it make any sense to you?

I’ve just installed the wp simpleviewer plug in and the gallery can’t display at all.
I have un updated version of wp and a twenty fourteen child theme. I don’t have any plugin to cache or to minimize js, and I tried to deactivate all the other plug-in installed but nothing changes: the gallery is not visible.
Problem is:
I’ve added SimpleViewer gallery in the page:
[simpleviewer gallery_id=” 6″]
images were added frome media gallery (I checked with the option “Images added to post” and there are all the images)
and then if I open the Simple Viewer Manage Galleries page, I can find that the gallery id 6 is not linked to any post or page.
If someone can understand why…

I’m running plugin version Version 2.3.2.4 and I’ve tried both the pro version and the free version. I’ve also tried this on two different WP installs on two different hosts and the same issue occurs. I’ve also tried using it with and without the Use Flash option.
Yes, I’ve read through the support page quite a bit. My steps have been:
1. Edit an existing page, or create a new page
2. Click the Add SimpleViewer Gallery button
3. Give it a new title, eg test
4. Leave Image Source as Media Library
5. Deselect Include Featured Image & Flash (also tried it with the Flash option checked) – use the rest of the settings as default and click Add Gallery
6. Click Add Media on the page I’m editing (next to the Add SimpleViewer Gallery button)
7. Upload new photos (.jpg files in this case.)
8. Wait for them to finish uploading, the click the x in the top right corner
9. Save the page, or view preview.
The resulting page has no gallery. There is a <div id=”sv-container-3″></div>, but that’s it.
I verified the upload directory is 777, and that the DOM extension is enabled. The server is running PHP 5.3.2. Another one I tried is running 5.4.20.

]]>Hi – I have captions for each of my images, and all are hyperlinks which work, but I’m not seeing any text effects when hovering or clicking on the text, such as no change of colour or underlines which is normally seen with a link. Links elsewhere on my pages do have effects so I figure it must be a SV thing rather than a Theme thing.
Any advice please?

Have added gallery tag to page, uploaded images as per Support page instructions. But no images come up on SV in page (it says ‘No images specified in Gallery XML’), and when I go to Manage Galleries, against the gallery ID for the page, it states ‘Page/Post does not exist’ but Media Library says the image is loaded to the page. What is going on!

But now I can not find the menu or buttons of SV to Add a gallery. How do I proceed? Looked for it on the dashboard, looked in New Page menu and new blog menu.
Instructions say:
“Click the ‘Add SimpleViewer Gallery’ or the SimpleViewer ‘eye’ icon button.”.
But how does this look like, does anyone have any screenshots?
Would greatly appreciate it if we could get this working.

]]>Hello — I recently started using SimpleViewer in my WordPress posts. The posts where I’m using SimpleViewer contain the SimpleViewer gallery at the top of the page, followed by a few paragraphs of text. The issue, though, is that the paragraphs of text show up before the SimpleViewer gallery does. So this creates an effect where for a split second, all the viewer sees is text, all of which is then pushed down below the fold by the gallery.
Is there any way to render the SimpleViewer gallery before the rest of the post is shown? Or, alternatively, is there some way to “save” the space where the SimpleViewer gallery will eventually load (i.e. with placeholder whitespace or image), so that layout of post doesn’t change a split second after the post is shown to the viewer?

Now I have two other issues:
1. When loading the images, even adding them in a specific order, they’re out of order, especially those images that have a matching detail. How can I control the order of how the images display on the site?

On the WP-SimpleViewer support page, instructions on how to reorder images for WP 3.5 or later states: Reorder the images (if necessary) by going to the ‘Insert Media -> Media Library’ section, selecting ‘Uploaded to this post’ and then dragging and dropping the images into the order you require.”
I’ve tried this, but nothing happens. It might be b/c my site is static, not a blog, so the rerference to “Uploaded to this post” might not apply. Could this be the problem? If not, how do I reset the order?
2. The gallery labeled “Vessels/Plates” is mistitled “Canopic Jars” on the right side of the page above the thumbnails. I’ve tried a couple workarounds, such as deleting and adding the title, then resaving, but nothing’s worked. How can I fix this?

The 3rd gallery is working perfectly.

after adding the SimpleViewer Gallery in the page,

in Galleries manager it shows like this:

Page/post does not exist.——Gallery15 ———-Page/post does not exist.

]]>I have developed a WP website using Artisteer 4.0. The home page contains a Simple Viewer slide show and I suspect that some conflict with Artisteer introduces some very odd rendering of the home page.
The first time you land on https://toanklein.com you will notice that the footer at the bottom of the screen overlaps text (or images, depending of the size of your screen). If you resize the window, the resulting screen has the footer at the bottom of the page and does not overlap any of the text. This is true in all the browsers I’ve tried (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, IE9, and Opera).
Is the mix of Artisteer-generated code and Simple Viewer to blame? Is their some way to fix this?
At the moment the only option seems to drop Simple Viewer in favour of another plugin.
Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated (including the recommendation of a similar plugin).
