Hello,
Is this plugin PHP 8.3 Compatible?
Thank you!
I installed Smush – image optimization because i wanted my site to run faster. So I installed this plugin and used the bulk smush. But after i did this the images just stopped loading in. And now i deactivated the plugin but still some images aren’t loading anymore. Does someone know what to do?
Hi, I understand, that the free version can resize images. But what about jpeg compression? Do I need the Pro version for that?

What I mean is: I dont want the png/jpg to be attached to the post but the webp be served on the browsers via htaccess or JS or something. I need the webp file to be the one that the wordpress handles. Is that possible with smush?
Hi there, I’ve searched everywhere, but can’t find any information on this. I have an image on an article that I need to always show in full resolution, due to fine details. Is there a way to exclude it from Smush?
TIA!

I have uploaded several photos to the media library. When I click on any of them, Smush is showing: Not processed. Also, when I try to upload only one special photo, I get the follwing error: “The server cannot process the image. This can happen if the server is busy or does not have enough resources to complete the task. Uploading a smaller image may help. Suggested maximum size is 2560 pixels“. This particular photo I bought from Shutterstock and it is the same as all other photos, and I even made it smaller by cropping it. Any advice would be appreciated.
Hi there,
Between the Basic and the Super setting there is no visible difference in the quality or the weight of the compressed images, having done a lot of testing. I am trying to get an image with no loss of clarity, but even on your “Basic” option the image lacks sharpness in comparison to the original. Can you please advise?

Hello!
For context, I have installed Smush on my WordPress site. When I visit it in incognito mode or NOT logged it looks ok, but the problem comes when admins are logged in. Image header and other images on the site look different or disappear.
For instance, this looks ok on incognito mode:

but once logged in this is the code for that same part:

Is there something I can make to fix this?
My problem is kind of similar to this ticket when mentioning the src=
Hi, first of all thanks for making a nice plugin. I can appreciate what this is going/should be doing. However, I ran the optimizer and ended up without an image any longer.

Lately whenever we try to smush any images bulk or individual, we get the following error:
Error posting to API: cURL error 60: SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired
I’ve confirmed with our host that none of the SSL certificates are expired and have seen other threads online that this has occurred before with this plugin. Can you help us fix it?
Hello, just to let you know that after uninstalling the plugin, one orphaned database table (smush_dir_images
) will remain in the WordPress database. It should be deleted automatically upon uninstall.
When I enable “Automatic Resizing” feature. The URL of the image changes as expect.
https://b2252579.smushcdn.com/2252579/example.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Blue-Lake-Jersey.png?lossy=2&strip=1&webp=1
But all the images appear broken. Upon opening image directly in the browser it shows “HTTP ERROR 429”. It appears Smush pro servers are not rendering any output and causing broken images at out website.
Hello,
After installing the plugin I now have two issues with the image dimensions on the site. The image carousal defaults to a much taller dimension, so that the navigation arrows are much father down the page. This resets when you scroll through all the images, but returns when the page is refreshed. The other issue is that images that are in a row are no longer the correct dimensions. For the linked page this is only visible in the mobile format, and at the bottom of the page.
Thank you for your help!

After a bad update of my site theme, I restored the site from a recent backup. After a recent bulk Smush process, Smush tells me that it cannot find 1191 thumbnails of my 2079 total!!!!
I have lots of website backups. Where can I find those missing thumbnails? They are all I have to restore those 1200 pictures!!! I was unaware of the need to back up my originals when I started using Smush ?? so I cannot hit the RESTORE button.
THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE! YEARS OF WORK GONE! PLEASE HELP ME RECOVER THOSE FILES.
I am sure you can help me. Thanks for helping to rescue the main worksite I have worked on for nine years!
Blessings,

As you can see from this I was able to get the smush plugin to work:
https://chandlertreeservice.net/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Capture2.jpg
However, when i go to my page, and download the image, it’s not any small. Also when i test it at https://pagespeed.web.dev/ it is not any faster to load the page.
In installed the plugin and rank a scan, as you can see from the url, it’s 100% and says i have 43 images that need to be resized. Then, there is no button that says “optimize now” so i have no idea how to get them to actually resize them. https://chandlertreeservice.net/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Capture.jpg
Also whether i go to the bulk page, or the dashboard, it keeps scanning my site, and keeps saying it’s at 100%, but it keeps getting stuck at “1 second remaining” on the scan…so why isn’t it saying 99% done? Why is it getting stuck? So the “waiting for recheck to finish” button never unlocks.

I noticed that on line 6085 (and nearby lines) there is the following code:
do_action( ‘wp_trigger_error_run’, $function_name, $message, $error_level );
if ( ! empty( $function_name ) ) {
$message = sprintf( '%s(): %s', $function_name, $message );

}
Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue?

Hi,
I’ve just installed the plugin and wanted to give it a try with some images in the Media library. I see that are some images marked as already optimized when they are not, they are more than 500k and bigger than 1200px which is the maximum size that I set for image resize. How do I optimize those images too?
Just installed the free version of this plugin. If scanned/smushed the images in the library. On completion I reveiwed the page and the images are still blurred. It is worth stepping up to the paid version?
Hi and thanks for the plugin!
The site is under construction so it’s closed off to visitors. My situation is this: client has large catalog of images taken on phone which need to be minimized in size and dimension. This works great using your plugin since the phone won’t make image sizes small enough for my liking in kb (also using plugin for sizing it to 950×950). However, when uploading photos for the homepage, I need the images to stay their current size and dimension as I size them in Photoshop before uploading them.
The only way I can get this to work is to ‘turn off’ your plugin either inside the settings or disabling the plugin. I’ve tried various tests by toggling settings and image sizes (only have the box ticked for 2048×2048). Their images they send over are 2160×2160. The image I would be using for the homepage max is 1200×800.
So I figured I would just manually revert my homepage images back to original dimensions. I have in your plugin ticked:
Resize original (950×950)
Back up original
I do NOT have ticked:
Disable scaled (not able to use this since their sizes are over 2048×2048 and I want theirs optimized)
Optimize original
So when I go to the uploaded picture for the homepage (1211×800) in media it says it’s already optimized, but it resizes it to 950×628 (this one was rectangular as theirs are typically 1:1 so it does 950×950 exactly). There’s no option to revert the 950×628 back to its original dimensions anywhere. It says: Smush Skipped: Image is already optimized.
Under ‘edit more details’ it shows a link to the original which just pops up in a new window. If I download and check the dimensions, it IS the original size. Nowhere else am I able to ‘revert’ it to original dimensions. Again, maybe this is just by design. However, if there’s something I’m missing, I’d be grateful for your suggestions here. If it’s not possible, could this be something in a future release?
Thank you for your time and expertise!
