I like to use the WP Statistics plugin. For a few days now I’ve noticed that the “Most visited Page” section on the overview page is no longer displayed.

I have installed WP statistics on a few customer websites so they can monitor their traffic simply and easily inside WordPress.

One thing I am noticing on most installations is that I am getting a lot of 404 errors registered for the file: /wp-content/plugins/wp-statistics/assets/js/chartjs/hammer.min.js.map

How can I resolve this?

As a WordPress administrator, I want to have the ability to disable the creation of .htaccess files by the WP Statistics plugin, so that I can prevent unnecessary costs associated with S3 storage caused by the repeated creation of this file. Additional information

Currently, the WP Statistics plugin attempts to create a .htaccess file to restrict public access to certain directories. This functionality leads to increased costs due to the repetitive creation of the .htaccess file, impacting users regardless of whether they are using Apache or Nginx.

To accommodate all users, it would be beneficial to implement a way to disable this functionality. Possible options include:

• A new setting in the WP Statistics settings page to enable or disable the creation of the .htaccess file.
• A WordPress hook that allows developers to programmatically disable the creation of the .htaccess file.
• An environment variable that can be set to control this behavior without modifying the code directly.

Acceptance criteria

• A method is available for users to disable the creation of the .htaccess file.
• The existing functionality for users who need the .htaccess file remains unchanged.
• Clear documentation is provided on how to use the new functionality.

How To Test

1. Go to the WP Statistics settings page.

Does WP Statistics support tracking user events on a website. Our site offers video behind a paywall so we would like to track which videos are the most popular. Sometimes, many videos may be presented on one page so we would like to track which ones have been viewed.

We’d also like to track button clicks. For example, we might display a question like “Did you find the answer? Yes / No” and we’d like to track the response and the page they were viewing at the time.

In a dynamic single post, I want to show the current post unique visitors count. I tried with pageviews and visitors short code with id but it not showing the correct data.

In page insight i can see the correct data ex. visitors 2 but in frontend if it give page visits it giving count 9.

I am encountering an issue while attempting to manually update the GeoIP database. Upon clicking the “Update Now” button, I receive the following error message:

Following the guidance from the faq page (The GeoIP database isn’t downloading section), I downloaded the database file from the provided link and manually placed it in the appropriate folder. However, despite completing these steps, the countries are still not being displayed correctly.

I need info regarding the addon (Advanced Reporting) to inquire whether it provides more information about visitors. Because currently this is showing limited device models other one is showing “unknown”.

Hello everybody!

Since the last Update of WP Statistics, the plugin doesn’t count correctly any more. Normally I had round about 250 visitors per day, but now it onlny counts round about 30 per day.

And what also doesn’t work is the widget of the “referrals from search engines”. The window is totally empy for weeks now! Only when I switch to the current day, there will be shown some data. But all other dates doesn’t work. There is only an empty window.

Please note: I am totally sure, that this error has nothing to do with any other wordpress plugin, because also when I deactivate all plugins and activate only wp statistics, the window of the “referrals from search engines” stays empty. But another statistics plugin I use count the visits from search engines. So this must be a bug in the software of wp statistics itself.

Could you please give me a feedback to my problem? How can I solve it? Or are you preparing any update to fix this?

I recently updated all the plugins and the WordPress core on my website. After completing the updates, I noticed that the visitor counter for my posts was reset to zero. This issue occurred specifically after the updates, and I’m concerned that the post visitor data may have been lost or is not being tracked properly anymore.

? When I view a post I receive the error, ‘The “wp-statistics-post-summary” plugin has encountered an error and cannot be rendered.’ in a banner at the top of the post.

? The “Visitors” tab on the Visitor Insights page, says No recent data available.

since I updated WP-Statistics to version 14.10.1 visitors counts (in traffic summary widget) are shown only back to 2024-06-10. Prior 14.10.1 all counts are shown in the widget.

Translation mistake in Dashboard Widget “Most Visited Pages”, 2nd column title:
The german translation “Besucher” is not correct and should be “Besuche” (visits).

Dear support team,

Unfortunately since the release 14.8 the widgets in wp-admin dashboard are empty. Therefore “Currently online” or “Traffic summary” do not contain any information in wp-admin dashboard. If I go to menu -> statistics every information is shown. In version 14.7.2 we do not have this issue. Is this feature not supported any more?

After installing Google Cookie Consent V2 on my website, I see significantly less traffic in my Google Analytics 4. Is WPStatistics also affected by Google Cookie Consent V2? My website is in Europe, where Cookie Consent is mandatory.

How can I see all viewed pages as a list? I want to analyze Thank-You page visits, and each TY page has its own ID. Right now, I can only see that the TY page has been viewed 20 times, but I want to know how many times specific pages like /thank-you/?id=4F5G32 or /thank-you/?id=5J94K3 have been viewed. What add-on should I get to view this data?

Been getting this error for a while now. Red error box in the WP admin when editing a page. This happens on a site using Avada as a theme (Avada Builder) and also on a website that uses a custom theme using Gutenberg.

Console has an error:

Uncaught ReferenceError: tinyMCE is not defined

The issue seems to be related to the Classic Editor as I’m using that plugin.

For a few weeks now, nothing but a white window has been showing on the ‘Detailed Statistics on Search Engine Referrals’ page. Any hints?

No data is showing, I only see the headers on the statistics page. I tried to inactivate and activate with no luck.
