Hi there,
Debug Bar is telling me you need to use wp_get_user_info instead.
]]>Hi,
I installed WP User Frontend the other night and messed around with it,
But I just noticed, my WP Symposium Toolbar is missing for logged out users.
So I disabled WP User Frontend and the WP Symposium Toolbar came back.
I can see the toolbar when I’m logged in as admin, but not as a visitor.
Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks

Hey
Work is being done on improving the top admin toolbar for core:

I am thinking this might be of interest to you.
Have a great weekend!

]]>Hi Guillaume,
Many thanks for the great plugin. Simple and efficient, works perfectly!
A question: is there a way to add translation to the Howdy message?
In English, I display: “Hi %first_name%” thanks to the WPS settings options.
And I would like to display in French: “Bonjour %first_name%”, etc..
Thanks in advance,
Yves.
Hello,
I have your plugin installed and set up correctly. However, no matter what I do I can not get the avatars to show up (small and large). Am I missing something? I can provide login if you need.

Hello,
When using the option under “WP User Menu” to “Rewrite the Profile URL over the Howdy and User Info items, to link to the following page, leave empty to use WordPress default Profile page” it redirects the backend edit link for the administrator account. Can this be fixed please?
Thanks,
Nate
Hi,
Kindly Can you add the possibility to add the JetPack Notification Icon for specific user roles and let admin to hide the LogIn link in the toolbar for not logger users?
I see that these features are not available in the plugin options.
Please, can you help?
Kind regards
G.Aloe

]]>Hi. Today i activated the plugin. Works very well. However my current theme “Unitheme” also used icomoon. Since installing this plugin all of my pages where i have icons, the icons are no longer visible. In a couple of cases (e.g icon-home) has been replaced by what looks like icon-users2.
Why has this happened and how do i quickly fix?
Thank you.
]]>I have downloaded this twice but still cannot locate where the settings are for it. I do not see it in my left side black WP toolbar anywhere, including under settings. Can you give me a hint? thanks!
]]>Hi there,
I am a great fan of WP Symposium Toolbar, the must-have plugin for easily and fully leveraging the toolbar space in WP. Thanks and congratulations for the amazing work!
I’ve come to a strange display behavior recently: when editing entry forms in the front end with Formidable Forms, the style of some elements of the page suddenly changed. Investigating further, I discovered that in this entry form editing situation, and only there, the wp-admin.min.css stylesheet would be loaded, taking precedence on the regular font-end styles.
I post this here because working with the Formidable Forms plugin support on this issue over days, I deactivated all other plugins and discovered that this bug occurred ONLY when WP Symposium Toolbar was enabled (together with Formidable Forms).
I then worked with the Formidable Forms support on a test page with only their plugin and your plugin enabled to understand which part the incompatibility could come from. And it comes to ask you the question: do you check the DOING_AJAX constant in your code? It seems that depending on your answer, the wp-admin.min.css file could be not properly loaded.
Thanks in advance for your answer!
Yves.
Hi,
I’m using this plugin to create a user menu on mobile – the right panel on Boss theme is normally populated when Buddypress is activated but since I don’t use that, I can still add a menu there with WP Symposium.
I’m 90% there but I can’t get the css right to style the current selected menu link. I only have one custom menu link (along with the Gravater and Log Out) called My Account. I’ve changed the link colour to white and added an FA icon before it with:
/* WP Toolbar */
#wp-admin-bar-my-account-default li a {
border-bottom: 1px solid #343538;
color: #FFF;
padding: 17px 25px 17px 25px;
}
#wp-admin-bar-my-account-default li a:before {
content: “\f007”;
}
Do you know the correct css I need to add to style the link when it’s selected? I’m stumped! I would send a link but the site is under maintenance.
Thanks for your help,
Paul.
hi alphagolf…
i am still enjoying this toolbar even without WP Symposium.
i have switch back to BuddyPress… sorry ??
but your toolbar is the very best hands down!
kay… when i have the tool bar set to “The current page, whichever it is” the page topic isn’t what is putout with the link only the domain name
it would be nice if i hit twitter for instance that it would have the page topic with the page link of the page to be tweeted
thanks so much for the great and i do mean GREAT toolebar and all you time! ??
]]>Hi guys,
This is a really weird issue so bear with me in explaining it.
I want to preface this with the fact that my site is not a multi-site.
I have modified my user roles a bit and so I have:
-Administrator (Can see toolbar) (WordPress base-level user role)
-Advisor (Can see toolbar) (Added via User Role Editor)
-Councilman (Can see toolbar) (Added via User Role Editor)
-Artisan (Can’t see toolbar) (Added via User Role Editor)
-Member (Can’t see toolbar) (WordPress base-level user role, formerly “Subscriber”)
The following are additional roles for Buddypress (these seem to have no bearing on the toolbar permissions at all):
-Advisor
-Councilman
-Apprentice
-Adept
-Pending
I was working on something else and logged into my husbands base-level account. I noticed that his toolbar was missing entirely from the top of his page.
Looking into my toolbar settings and I’m still just as confused after setting it back up so that regular members should have access to everything, but it’s still not showing.
I’m not sure why. It was giving me an warning and told me to re-save my settings, which I did, and the warning has since disappeared, but… he still has no toolbar.
Any guidance on this is massively appreciated because as of right now, none of my base-level members (i.e. non-admins) can see their notifications.
I’ve attached a screenshot of my settings, so that they can be reviewed. Is it because I do not have corresponding user roles for the buddypress user roles? I can’t imagine that would be an issue, but it’s certainly acting oddly.
Screenshot of my permissions:
https://screencast.com/t/dQotJeCQnZsx
Base-level member homepage & Toolbar option in profile:
https://screencast.com/t/0omjLaiX & https://screencast.com/t/28hu6gAT
Administrator-level homepage:

https://www.heartwoodgaming.com/
Also a few things I’ve tried, swapping stuff around on his account entirely, giving him admin/advisor/councilman roles and he is able to see it on any of the three. Just can’t see it as an artisan or member.
I’ve also tried deselecting all of the buddypress roles entirely, admin/councilman still work, but as an artisan or member still does not.
Thank you for any help you can provide!
]]>Hi there!
This is a great plugin! I was wondering if you could tell me how to make the toolbar transparent? I have a header image that spans the width of my screen and I’d ideally like to see that behind my toolbar if possible.
I keep trying to remove the hex code from ‘Background Colour’ but it keeps coming back none-the-less.
Thanks in advance!
]]>Hello, my site is using Google Lato as the main font, is there any way to add this?
]]>Hi,
I installed and activated the plugin, but I can’t find the menu toolbar to customize this plugin. I’m using WP 4.1 and there is no information showing that this plugin supports version 4.1.
]]>Hello, I’m wondering if there is a way I can hide or display a menu item based on a user’s role.
I know I can show or hide the entire menu by role, but this function seems to override other plugins that can do what I want.
For example I have a dropdown menu and I want to display certain links to users of a certain role, and hide them to everyone else.

I am just wondering if there is any way to utilize the toolbar search for WooCommerce products? I have been looking to for the search parameters in the WP Symposium Toolbar files, but I can not seem to find the correct code snippet. Any help here would be much appreciated.

]]>Hello, after adjusting the height of the toolbar, the search field does not look correct: https://i.imgur.com/JSOp4pK.jpg
I believe it has to do with the line-height attribute, but I do not see where to style that. It appears the CSS for this is not coming from /wp-content/plugings/wp-symposium-toolbar/css/wp-symposium-toolbar_admin.css
Unfortunately my site is locally hosted, but when I inspect the element there is a whole string of CSS:
#wpadminbar > #wp-toolbar > #wp-admin-bar-top-secondary > #wp-admin-bar-search #adminbarsearch input.adminbar-input {
height: 24px;
top: -4px;
line-height: 48px;
padding-left: 18px;
font-size: 16px;
}
Where do I style this?
]]>Hello, just wondering how I can put my site logo in the top left of the toolbar. I tried using a dashicon to a menu but it was squashed to 1:1 ratio.
]]>Hello,
I am just wondering if there is a way to add the Woocommerce Cart icon and running totals within the Symposium Toolbar? I have tried using the Woocommerce Menu Cart plugin, but these two do not seem to play well together. Mainly do to the manner in which the cart plugin doesn’t create an actual menu item, but instead uses hooks to add the cart at the end of a menu.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I have a long custom menu that I placed in the toolbar that has a dropdown longer than the screen. Since the toolbar doesn’t move with the scrolling screen, there is no way to see the items at the bottom of the menu. Can we make the menu’s scroll if needed somehow?
