]]>I have no clue if it works or not for other people but I can’t seem to get it to upload more than 1% and hour maybe.. I can’t really tell. The first backup never went past 2% Just kept saying waiting on server response. ( Preparing for next call from server. ) I deleted and reloaded it all and it “seems” to be working. I don’t really think it is something I can support long term if it takes this long to upload the first backup. I purchased a account which I will probably getting refunded and I also setup a S3 storage bucket which I don’t need now.. seems like this was a HUGE waste of time and I wish the reviews online reflected this situation. It doesn’t seem to handle large files so unless you have a VERY SMALL site please try something else
As I am watching the process via network data .. every 7 min it uploads about 6-8 MB for exactly 1 second.. then it dies again. This is not an easy plugin to use and I really hope I can get my money back as there doesn’t seem to be a support page or a cancel page..
]]>I successfully sent backups to a dropbox folder – Dropbox/Apps/WP Time Capsule
and I’d like them in a different folder in my Dropbox – is there a place in the plugin I can change that, or a way to add an addition to the plugin files to change that location? I have other backups going elsewhere and I would like them all in a central folder without having to manually move them.

I am recently experiencing this on multiple websites that were using-realtime backups without any issue in the past.
WPTC cannot create the triggers to backup the SQL queries, Please contact the hosting provider to enable triggers.Backup Schedule is now set to 12 hours.

My database wptc_processed_files table is 200MB+ in size, can I clear the contents of the table and what will be the impact of this?

We found out that this plugin interfere with the wp-cron job. is there a way to configure to make this script accessible without user login? This is needed since we run the auto-update using cPanel cron.

We have a really large database of customers and orders and it takes a very long time to make any backups. I’m wondering how WP Time Capsule handles changes to the database. Does it address only the changed tables and data or does it need to upload the whole database for each change?

We have an account with wptimecapsule and I came with some issues when trying to produce a staging website. The error I came across is:
Error: Failed to copy files.
As the error message suggests, WPTC plugin is unable to copy some files on a certain amount of time. You will experience this problem when your server has prolonged files copying process.
To fix this problem, reduce the value of Files cloning limit by a few hundred.

I am aware that the solution is to adjust the settings on WP Time Capsule, but I can’t find the settings you are referring to.
FYI, we have been using our own Backup system, so that is why the backup hasn’t been activated yet. We don’t need that service, but if that is a limitation to adjust the settings, please let me know.
I can’t see the rest of the settings that are shown on your doc page, so do we need to use a backup to be able to adjust the settings? We have already created a stage website with a different domain.
I logged in into our account in WP Time Capsule, and I clicked the ‘settings’ tab, and I don’t see them either. (Attached print screen for reference)
How do I adjust the settings? or how do I adjust settings of the host server to increase the file copying process? Any advice is appreciated

For all 130 sites that are connected to our wptc account we get the following message:
Error refreshing the OAuth2 token, message: ‘{ “error”: “invalid_grant”, “error_description”: “Token has been expired or revoked.” }’
They’ve all lost connection to the service.
Any advice?
After migrating a site, I get the dreaded “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” message for the admin area.
I finally found that in the database, in the wp_options table (really wp_PREFIX_options), the wp_user_roles record in option_name (and several others) has been changed to wp_PREFIX_PREFIX_user_roles, etc.
In the wp_usermeta table (again, really wp_PREFIX_usermeta), all the wp_user_level and wp_capabilities meta_keys have been changed to wp_PREFIX_user_level and wp_PREFIX_capabilities.
Even after doing a find and replace to repair them all, I still can’t log in. There has to be an issue with the find/replace done to the database on migration.
I have replicated this on two migrations of the same website with different prefixes. I’m about to change the prefix to just wp_ instead of wp_PREFIX to see if I can get it to work.
The original site is very old and just has wp_ as the prefix. My guess is that there’s an assumed prefix in the original site in the find/replace and when there is none, it has this problem. I’ll update after that migration attempt.

]]>With the W3 Total Cache plugin activated I could not log into WP Time Capsule. After deactivating W3 Total Cache I was able to log in.
I would like to be able to leave the plugin activated. Any reason that should be a problem? Any one else have an issue with logging into settings with W3 Total Cache activated? It appears that after deactivating W3 Total Cache, and then logging into WP Time Capsule, I’m able to reactivate W3 Total Cache without any issues. I hope.

I made the staging site using WPTC to update my theme on the main site. While I was updating the theme and some plugins my editor was adding new posts and another contents like updating some categories and tags and updating old posts. After finishing all changes I send the staging to live one but it overwrite all the new contents.
My questions:
– Is it suppose to merge the two without losing the new content on the live one?
– After I made the changes on the staging site and click “copy site from live to staging”, will overwrite all the changes I made in staging?

]]>I host several sites on Media Temple using their Dedicated Virtual service running a Plesk Obsidian server.
After a recent rebuild, I upgraded the server and turned on the built in Firewall. At first it let me authenticate, but then had issues with the actual backups taking days and not making any progress, and some failed completely.
I removed the sites from the Time Capsule admin site, removed the plugins and moved the files to new folders on Google Drive.
When I tried to reconnect them, they failed completely. This seems a bit odd since I was able to at least connect just two days ago. After troubleshooting everything else and looking for anything online, I decided to turn off the firewall. As soon as I did, they could authenticate. Turned it back on, and authentication failed. At least one of them is backing up (the others are still “Sending all files to your Google Drive account… This may take a while” and calculating the size.
Of course, I’d love to turn the firewall back on again, and we’ll see if they are successful after this reinstall. Since the only thing that changed was the firewall setting, and the effect was immediate, I have to assume that was the problem.
Any help would be appreciated.

I began a restore yesterday and received an error message, the backup was unable to complete, please allow 6 4 4 file permissions to the stored backup file (obviously theres something wrong already). I made sure file permissions were set correctly for the specified file. Still no luck. Now my site is showing the “Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance” page and now im unable to even access the wp dashboard. Im locked out. Could you please lead me through the best way to manually repair the site using ftp?
