This migration was to replace Blog2Social. Buffer is pricey, and if I find a cheaper alternative, I will have to replace Buffer as well. I currently support 17 Websites for X/Twitter.

I lost my basic free social share from Jetpack , and I can’t afford to pay a lot, but wasn’t sure if Buffer would fit my needs at the moment until I can afford to buy into it. So it’s well worth the try and so glad I did.

All I wanted was a plugin that would auto-share to all of my social media accounts for free. I installed this thing that said you could sign up for free and says it was just a 14-day trial. $10 per channel per month!?? If I linked my Facebook, X (AKA: Twitter), Mastodon, and so on I’d have to shell out over $100 per month to do something I could do manually.
I uninstalled and deleted it!

I am extremely impressed by the quality of the support for the plug-in. After encountering an unexpected log message, I reached out to their support and they quickly responded and followed up with debugging efforts. After isolating the log message to be related to a wordpress.com interface behavior, they were quick to offer a refund! In the end the log message did not affect the performance of the plug-in or its capabilities so I declined the refund. Overall, I am very impressed by the quality of the plug-in and of the support. If it was possible to give them six stars I would do so.

installed, connected Buffer and it works great. Only downside is that is didn’t post a tweet which was a little too long. it should crop off any extra hashtags which might stop it from posting.

Testing the plugin went so successfully that I have now purchased pro. Because I am allergic to spending money on plugins before exhausting every available option, I spent hours/days/weeks trying to custom script the actions of socialmedia posting (ran into frustrating SocialMedia API issues). It has a three account limit for the free tier which is just great. Enough for LinkedIn, Facebook and the ugly Bird site if you must. It is really nice the buffering means you have time to make a fix if you make a mistake and also that it will send updates when you change posts. Nice work!

This free plugin spends so much real estate and time trying to get you to upgrade that it is impossible to reliably test and make a decision to pay. No chat support, just email. Auto replied they will get back to me “real soon now.”
After all that I find out that “Buffer” only posts a link on social media back to your WordPress post. At least they helped me make a decision on whether to pay. I will sign up for blog2social. That plugin reforms your post to make a readable entry, and a link.

This plugin is the best so far. I have tried several plugins before now but Buffer provides a lot of premium services for free. They even send you a notification when your scheduled post is published on several Social Media Platforms. You can post on LinkedIn, Facebook and LinkedIn for free.
