I know support has ended but I’m hoping someone has the answer…

My site is on the secure protocol. However, this plugin pushes visitors to the non-secure pages. When adding a country, the URL entry specifically says “do NOT include the https:// ” as it does that automatically. How can I override this so that it uses the https prefix instead?

if I change the setting “Show tiny countries” from HIDE to SHOW, the map stay allways grey. Do you have some ideas?

Hi there. I installed this plugin and it displays the container not the actual map. I’m not a pro with JS admittedly, so I am having a difficult time knowing how to proceed here. The errors from the console show as such:

The script from “https://[site].com/wp-content/plugins/wp-visited-countries-reloaded/ammap/maps/js/worldHigh.js” was loaded even though its MIME type (“text/html”) is not a valid JavaScript MIME type.

One more question: is there any way of making the map dynamically scalable? Which may not be the correct technical term, but by which I mean so that it adjusts in size according to the browser window? Given how the map is landscape in orientation, no matter how small I make it (within reason) especially mobile devices with their portrait screens cause problems.

Another thing: I can’t seem to find Singapore on the map, the whole of the Malay peninsula appears to be Malaysia, and there’s no island at the tip of it (or am I not looking right?). And even if it were there, it would presumably be so small that when the whole world map is shown, Singapore would be pretty hard to find. Is there 1) any way of showing it, 2) so that it would be easy to find?

Is there any way of cropping the map (I’d like to get rid of Greenland and the north of Canada) or changing the projection to eg. Miller cylindrical, so that I could ‘squeeze’ it vertically?

I am embedding your plugin in my page and trying to edit it to suit me.
I tried looking at the code and disabling the clickable feature completely but it didn’t work.
I disabled the mini-map and zoom in and out features I just want the hover-over feature left. How do I disable the clicking feature completely?

This plugin is pretty much exactly what I’m looking for, but unfortunately, not all countries are available. Would it be possible to add any missing countries (in my case, it’s Monaco and Cura?ao that are missing – and possibly others too in the futre).

In the inc/class-wpvc-master.php file a call is done to the WordPress API to check the most recent version of this plugin. Sometimes that API returns a error message which results in the following fatal error:

Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Cannot use object of type WP_Error as array in [...]/wp-visited-countries-reloaded/inc/class-wpvc-master.php:349

I think this is fixable by adding a is_wp_error() on the $http_answer variable, and if true, just return the current state.

Could you add this fix (or a similar one) to prevent this fatal error from occurring?

Is it somehow possible to center the map? If I center it, only the text below gets centered.

I love your plugin. I’ve activated it on a new site (not live yet), and I get a LOT of error notifications. I’ve reverted to 2017 theme and disabled all other plugins, and I still get the same errors. I have debug display on right now. I know I can hide those errors, but I’d rather use plugins that are notice/error-free.

I’m trying to create a website and found your plugin. I’m trying to use it, but I’m not getting any map image.
I already installed WP-Flash and used: “[wp-visited-countries]I’ve visited {num} out of {total} countries. That is {percent}.[/wp-visited-countries]”. With this ai have the text “I’ve visited {num} out of {total} countries. That is {percent}.” but no map.

Thank you for improving this plugin. There still seems to exist some troubles. For example, changing the map colors, some do response (background and lived colors) and some don’t (all the resting colors).
As well I’m currently using a workaround, adding a separate map to display the cook islands. I think it would be nice to include the pacific oceans countries in your map. They already suffer too much ignorance and i think it would be great to include them.
Is there a way I can contribute and add them? Is there a database you’re using that you could put to availability?

Hello,

I have been using this plugin without issue – but on review of my page just now I’ve realised it is showing someone elses map.

Eg… I am from Australia, my “manage countries” includes Australia as a place I’ve lived, and yet on the map it doesn’t include it. It is including comments and notes for the countries that are coloured and yet I’ve not written those.

I tried re-saving and re-entering the code in my post but it shows the same thing. Any help would be great!

I love this plugin, but when I activate it on our site, all non-administrators get a message saying ‘You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page’ if they try to go to the Dashboard. Maybe there is some kind of admin-level restriction on the plugin’s Settings option in the Dashboard that could be causing this?

I am a total amateur and know next to nothing about technology, however I have recently started a WordPress blog.

I am trying to get the WP Countries Visited map to show up on a page. I have googled everything I can and it says to just paste this “[/wp-visited-countries]” and then update and post the page.

I’ve done that and nothing shows up when I go to the page. I have activated it, entered my countries etc. If I include the text saying I’ve been to XX countries out of XX that displays properly but nothing else.

Please help – preferably in very basic language!

2. if I link a country with a url of mine website, do you know how can the link can be opened in the same page? I mean, for exemple, if I click Australia the australia’s page open in the same page but with his own url. For exemple, if the page where is the map is called something.com/guides, the australia’s link open in the same something.com/guides
