Ok. This plugins fills a big hole, if you want build a community, use forum, just must have. Bonus tip: You can use the gallery extension for phpbb, so it`s solve another problem, a gallery with user uploads. </p> <p>One thing, don`t forget regenerate your template after update.

First off, creating an integration between two very complex and large systems is not an easy task! Both WordPress and phpBB are very complex systems that work in quite different ways and I was very tentative about what this plugin was doing, and how it would work.
I must say that the plugin works GREAT, and after spending a bit of time to read the instructions and understand WHAT the plugin is doing it all made sense and I was able to get it to work GREAT. I was doing a VERY COMPLICATED integration with multiple plugins that all dealt with users and passwords and I had two problems which the developer worked out with me very quickly online. AXEW3 is really a great developer and cares that people using this plugin are getting the most from it! Thank you for all your help!
Please, READ and UNDERSTAND the documentation. If you don’t understand it go to the forum axew3 has setup and read and learn. Integrating WordPress and phpB is not an easy task!
I am redirecting all my users to register and change their password in WordPress. phpBB does not handle any of the user/password handling and all customers go to WordPress for that. I am also using a memberships plugin that handles multiple paid memberships in WordPress including add-ons and upselling, etc which is why I needed to force all the registration tasks to WordPress. With WP w3all phpBB plugin it all works fine.

This plugin is INCREDIBLY GOOD. I can’t fathom that the author has made such a great plugin. He seems to have thought about everything. Yes, the English instructions are a bit hard to read. But once you have this set, it works FLAWLESSLY.
It is so slick, so fast, so incredibly great and it just WORKS. I can’t believe this is free. Oh my god, I’m actually fangirling right now!!

This plugin is the way to go when you use phpBB in combination with WordPress. I use it now and do also use the iframe feature which works great.
I recently had some issues when switching my site to SSL and I opened a support thread and the support by the author was way better than I expected. I got suggestions for code fix and even help with troubleshooting my phpBB and WP setup. The support felt very personal which was great.

This plugin for wordpress 4.9.6 + phpbb 3.2.2 works.
My installation steps:
1. my domain name is www.example.com
2. I installed wordpress under /var/www/wp
3. I installed the phpbb under /var/www/wp/forums/
4. You can see that the phpbb is placed under a sub-folder of wordpress
5. When you install wordpress and phpbb, please keep to use the same password for both “admin” account.
6. Login to the phpbb ACP panel, and change the cookie domain to www.example.com and the cookie path is “/”
7. Logout phpbb
8. login the www.example.com/wp-admin/ with the admin account
9. install this plugin in wordpress
10. under the wordpress setting option, check the “WP w3all”
11. update below options:
(REQUIRED) Path => /var/www/wp/forums/
(REQUIRED) URL => /forums
12. done

Plugins will always be useful to us given how much functionality they provide us. But beyond what a plugin actually does, we need developers that provide quality support when things aren’t working out well. Hands down, @axew3 gives the best plugin support I’ve seen so far. Any issues you have are quickly addressed within a day, sometimes just a few hours. He’s always releasing frequent new patches that address issues that you bring up with him. And with the current string of 1.8 updates, I can say that the plugin is now stable and working without issues for me. An easy 5/5. Keep up the great work!

Following the documentation and installation instructions is a nightmare of terrible and barely comprehensible English, conflicting instructions in multiple links, linking to a forum I am unable to even read for seemingly no particular purpose and no available answers for even the most basic of questions.

Having researched many possible solutions to WP-phpBB integration, this was the ONLY one which actually worked. Alessio sorted out some initial issues with WP Multisite and it has continued to work flawlessly.

Been using this plugin for weeks now, and the first thing I noticed was, if you have an problem or issue with it, the developer takes fast action! It’s a bridge between two platforms, so many common problems exist when webmasters go down this road. The best we can hope for is, great support! And I think if you got WP & phpBB, you got a winner here. I’m sticking around for sure, just because I know the author is on my side at all times!

It works well but my dashboard shows two errors:

I’d like the possibility to create an automatic post every time I create an article on wordpress. Obviously any comment on wordpress creates a copy on the post of the article in phpbb. It would be great also for a fee.

I have used other similar plugins, but this plugin is the best by far. Simple to set up and works as advertised. The author of this plugin answers questions and fixes any problem very quickly. I am amazed at such professionalism!! This is sorely lacking by a lot of others.

Just wanted to add another review, as I am a big fan of this plugin! It is realy hard these days, to find a good and working bridge between common CMS/CMF and common forums. This plugin here is working without a problem, and if there’re problems, the mod author trys to solve them as quick as possible. I am very thankful for the work the author put in this mod! This plugin is exactly what i had in mind before i found it, to integrate phpBB and WP and everything with it. so forum users can comment on the ‘blog articles’ or in my case ‘each episode’.
iFrame mode makes it all look like it is truly the same site and in the meanwhile makes me look like a PRO at building websites ??
I first got this plugin at very early stages and there where some errors that where quikly fixed, the developer has been fantastic through them all and i want to thank him again for being awesome, Thanks!
Dev didn’t have access to a Hosting service like what i have and the biggest problem we had with the plugin was as easy to fix as ticking a box on the host service page and pressing accept.

Interesting plugin tested on few milestones versions with my wp and phpBB install reporting bugs to developer, who has erased from his forum my latest messages pointing critical errors on wp dashboard using this plugin… After further test, finally broke my wordpress install needing to perform a new one later… Very graphic and hard coded job, but totally buggy at this time… Don’t use for a while !!!
