This is really good plugin for linking between WP and Mandrill.
But in getAttachmentStruct -> set_magic_quotes_runtime is causing a bit problem with newer version of PHP. If this can be fix in future update, it would be awesome.
Keep up the good work guys.

but is support still active?

Mandrill is great and the service is awesome.
I don’t know why so many people complain about Mandrill not being free anymore. Sure, you have to have a MailChimp account, but its a small price to pay for the features.
Show me an email server that has Mandrill’s capabilities, customer support, integration, and template access… and is also free? If you want quality and expect devs to put in 1000s of hours to make their service awesome then its a small price to pay.

Not happy with the way Mandrill now force users to have a MailChimp account. Might not have minded if the payment structure was reasonable. So this plugin – once really useful – is no longer worthwhile.
But… if you don’t mind the account / payment structure, it does work very well.

It is disappointing so see Mandrill would not longer be free. You’ll need to have “paid” account with MailChimp to use Mandrill.
I need to send less than 100 emails per month and now mailchimp would charge me $9.95/month for this.
I would now have to look for other solutions because its just too expensive.

My team was having a bit of a problem with our cloud-based managed WordPress solution (I don’t want to put them on blast, but please note that this is an issue with ‘floating IP’ container based solutions) – many emails were incorrectly marked as spam.
With a bit of configuration in our DNS settings (probably the most difficult issue, and not Mandrill’s or our managed hosting’s provider’s problem) – with a drop in of the API key we were back in business.
Thanks to the MailChimp and Mandrill teams.

I was not getting Woocommerce emails so decided to try Mandrill, with this plugin.
Easy to set up, and it fixed my problem. Very happy. Thanks!

Mandrill is clumsy, buggy, complicated and the UI is so lousy!
Spent 30 minutes with an overly complicated signup only to find out it doesn’t work. Poorly designed software!

Was very quick to set this plugin up and no problems at all so far. Mandrill itself took a little longer to understand especially the DNS settings. But was pretty well explained on the site. Sorted a complex mail issue I had very well. Thanks

Limited to a very basic minimum: send the plain WP email notification.
Should be further developed to enable to use:
-Custom or Dynamic Content
-Different template for different kind of messages, from different senders, etc.
No support from Mandrill and obviously no willingness to develop the plugin further.
Very deceiving.
Looking for better alternatives to Mandrill.

Thanks for it and for the free service.

Rich security and templating features that allow you to have a dedicated email provider for your wordpress site. Flexible and robust, winning!

I have been working on trying to set up smtp on my emails and no plugins would work until I found yours. Thanks A MILLION times!

The default wp mail system always made me feel so insecure about if messages were getting to me. You guys nailed it with this plugin and your service. Thanks!

I can’t login into my wordpress admin panel after activating, it was infinite page loading with blank page. I had to remove folder with the plugin to solve the issue.

AMAZING! REALLY! Mandrill (same company as Mailchimp) provides the best SMTP service – trust me I looked at all our options. Mandrill has a free service allowing us to send up to 12,000 emails per month provided we maintain a good reputation. The wordpress install was seamless and the integration took seconds. Who hasn’t had this problem… maybe you have and haven’t noticed yet?! We noticed we weren’t getting all emails from our contact forms and discovered that our server’s new anti-spam policy was not sending anything from those with hotmail or gmail accounts (!! a lot of people !!) so we immediately made sure all our forms were coming from our own email but that made it difficult to reply as we needed to forward or start a new email… then we discovered mandrill (thanks to Ninja Forms, see: https://docs.ninjaforms.com/article/218-email-reliability-mandrill). Now we get and send all our emails and have a much better service to see any issues.
THANK YOU!

Needed a non-SMTP way of sending emails from a Docker-based site. Emails send successfully, and I’m a happy camper.

Did not work from the start, just trying to add my API key gave me a white screen (fatal error).
Got to the point where I could send a test email, and that gave an error with no useful information.
Would be nice to have even an ounce of debug information available so I can fix it.

Would be even better if we got sub account support

Couldn’t get this to work. The test email goes through from within the wpmandrill settings page, however, no wordpress emails are being redirected through mandrill as expected. Really wanted this to work.
Ended up installing Amazon SES DKIM Mailer Wodpress plugin and after plugging in the settings using that plugin, all WordPress emails are now being sent through mandrill.
Didn’t want to knock wpmandrill too much since it appears to work for some, but just couldn’t get it to work at all so that is the reason for 3 stars. If you too have an issue, give the Amazon SES DKIM Mailer Wodpress plugin a try. It worked for me.

Love the Ability to use a Verified Sending Service, rather than the WordPress default sending method.
However, I think sending stats should be real-time and the smtp setup/login process followed Mandrill’s own practices more closely.
I also would like to see a structured integration with Gravity Forms.

After my domain hosting introduced a new anti-spam system I found my website would not send emails from two different apps. I installed wp mandrill and it works perfectly. Definitely 5stars.

OMG Thank you, I have tried every single SMTP out there and they just do not work reliably. Not to mention GMAIL is constantly making it harder to meet qualifications for connecting.. A++++++++++ highly recommend.

This make my dashboard to load slow.
I hope it is because of the mandrill reports on the dashboard, but i can find no option to disable the reports.
Please help me how to disable reports on wordpress dashboard as i use the mandrill android app to see the reports.

Thank the internet gods for this.. I tried just an SMTP plugin first but alot of shared hosts block smtp ports, Like the ones that gmail and outlook.com/office365 use. Then I tried this in conjunction with gravity forms and it did the job even on crappy shared hosts.

Once again having problems with WooCommerce NOT sending out any confirmation emails and once again searching the web for fixes, I found the suggestion for Mandrill.
Every WooCommerce site should be using Mandrill.
Emails get sent exactly as they are supposed to be. I can resend, or send new emails, with two clicks. I know how many were sent each day. How many bounced. How many were opened within that day.
What an improvement for WP/WooCommerce.
As others have said, “Highly recommended.”

This plugin makes it incredibly simple to implement Mandrill as your outgoing mail service in WordPress.
A big bonus, it tags every outgoing message with the name of the WordPress function that created it. This allows you, in the Mandrill dashboard, to filter your messages. For example, only look at statistics for the “Forgot your Password” messages.
Highly recommend.

According to P3 analyses, this plugin shows up frequently amongst the top 10 of resources consumption. Despite that, it is still an indispensable plugin on every WordPress site I install.
