I really like this plugin, but it seems to have been abandoned. Is there a replacement version for Genesis Framework 3+?

Hey guys, terrific plugin, I installed it onto this site a number of years ago, along with Autoptimise. Clients reached out to me recently to report that the Testimonials Slider is no longer displaying as a slider, but as a list of testimonials instead. They can’t remember when it stopped working. The original site was built on WP 5.2, and the slider still works on my archived dev site. Their Live Site is running WP 5.6 and it’s clearly broken.

The issue appears to be related to the Autoptimize plugin.

1. Updating to WP 5.8 does not resolve the issue.
2. Deactivating Autoptimize allows the slider to resume as normal.
3. In Autoptimize, unchecking the option, “Aggregate all linked JS-files to have them non-render blocking” allows the slider to operate as normal.

The console shows the following errors when the slider is broken –

? Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined at lightslider.min.jsver=0c4dcf57b7db5e45278350a7ed8c4920:1

? Uncaught ReferenceError: $ is not defined at (index):56

? Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined at (index):56

Any ideas?

– Genesis Testimonials Slider 1.6

I have tried two and three-column displays but the slider remains a single column. What to do to make it work?

Will this plugin support the block editor in creating testimonials?

We curently have an issue with the testimonial slider.
In fact we are not able to enable the plugin even if we are using Genesis.
The plugin was working correctly until recently.

Hi Frank. Just found this error: Call to undefined function genesis_get_option() in wp-content/plugins/wpstudio-testimonial-slider/genesis-testimonials.php on line 93

Might be caused by the plugin being active when Genesis is not.

For some reason my testimonials are off to one side and not showing up the way they are supposed to. Is there some code to use to fix this?

Getting this console error. Disabling this plugin brings back mobile icon and removed console error.

Uncaught TypeError: jQuery(…).lightSlider is not a function

Is there any change you will be updating this plugin?

It seems like Genesis testimonial slider plugin is creating problems with the new WordPress 5.5. Ever since I’ve I’ve updated to the latest version of WordPress, my contact form is no longer loading. By deactivating every single of my plugins separately, I’ve come to realize that it’s the Genesis testimonial plugin that is creating this.
Could you update your plugin to make it compatible with the new WordPress 5.5 jquery ?

Could you tell me why SEO doesn’t work in Genesis Testiminials Slider ?, not even with Yoast SEO plugin. Unable to get a Genesis Testimonials Slider sitemap. On the other hand, Google says the tag “itemReviewed” and “ratingValue” are missing.

I am using the structured data that existed in the previous version and am wondering if you have an easy method for re-adding this information into the testimonials?

Also, I’d like to add an itemprop for “itemReviewed”.

After the recent Genesis update the testimonials stopped working and is no longer visible under the Genesis menu. When I deactivated and then reactivated the plugin I got an error that the Genesis framework must be installed which it is and running a custom version of sample theme.. Has anyone else had problems with the testimonials?

Is there a way that we can collect testimonials on our website with a widget or a page with a form, or something like that? Otherwise, how do we get them short of entering them ourselves by using the e-mail messages sent by customers? I have read your documentation, and I could not find the answer there.

If I understand correctly, your testimonials are CPTs. So, I suggest adding custom taxonomies (testimonial categories) so that sliders with different sets of testimonials may be used in different parts of the site. This is particularly useful in the case of multilingual sites, where we might want to show only the testimonials written in the current language…

How can I set the size of the testimonial text, and the size of author’s image? The CSS for these seem to be inline…

I appreciate your plugin. When I check our site with the Google Structured Data Testing Tool though, it shows the rating under the Name property.

This is causing an error of: Field ratingValue may not be empty.

Does it test showing under the Value property under other circumstances?

If this is consistent across sites, would you be able to add markup to format the rating to show as Value with an associated Name property value?

Also getting an error of: Multiple reviews should be accompanied by an aggregate rating.

Would it be possible to have that markup generated as well?

I got this error after last update:

I was using this plugin in a widget area on my home page for one of my sites and got a white screen of death. Checked wp error logs and this was the cause. When I removed the plugin, problem gone. I’m not sure where this class is being called from, but it definitely is NOT on that doc in line 16.

This plugin needs an update for sure. Please let me know when that can be. Thanks

Hi. I’ve installed the plugin, and created testimonials.
I added the shortcode to my page, but it just displays the testimonials all at once, not in a slider and there is no styling….

Please make it possible to have at least different columns layout withing shortcode parameters. Currently your plugin usage is quite limited. Will have to look for something else if flexibility I need is not here ??

Or would there be a function or something I could use to have a different columns layout where I need it?

On home page I need 3 columns but in sidebar I need only 1.

Any chance for a solution to that?

(I guess it would be necessary to add the possibility to create groups? And then have shortcodes displayed in the backend that I can insert in the page, right?)
