Hi there!
We want to have regular quotes (” “), so have installed the plugin… but curly quotes remains there… https://enredaccion.com.ar/puma-goity-el-teatro-es-de-los-pocos-trabajos-artesanales-que-quedan/
Any idea? what to check?
In the wordpress editor I see those quotes as regular ” “…
Best regards
PD: as we need this in hurry, we will add add_filter(‘run_wptexturize’, ‘__return_false’); to functions file, maybe when you see that URL it will show regular ones…
]]>This plugin has worked great but it does not handle quotation marks placed in a WooCommerce Variable Product Description.
]]>The plugin wpuntexturize is very usefull!
Since WP 4.5.1 and + in DE-Blogs leading ‘ and ” will be converted to single resp. double ‘low 9’.
The arrays $char_codes and $replacements in the lines 58 and 59 of wpuntexturize.php
must extended with ‘&
#
8218;
‘, ‘&
#
8222;
‘ resp. “‘”, ‘”‘ to prevent this.
I did a test post with double and single quotes. They were still curly or smart.
WordPress makes the singles go backwards too when they should be the other way.
WordPress has been stupid about this, arbitrary, even bossy about it by not having had an option built in all along, at least for years now. They’ve known about it and just ignored the hundreds and even thousands of people who’ve asked for the option in one way or another (plugin downloads, etc.).
It’s like WordPress is refusing just to spite people. It’s been way to noticeable not to be part of the reason.
I know. I’m venting. Oh well.
I hope you get your plugin working and can keep it working. Other plugins have work for a time, but WordPress always manages to break them and still refuse to offer the option.

when I try to activate it.
