I have just test-installed this at digte.lyrikere.dk, which is a subdomain under the lyrikere.dk, the group of poets at the Danish Authors’ Union.
As chairman I really, really want this to work. It is the first time I have seen something even remotely approaching, what I need: Have poets in Denmark come together to publish in the open. last time this happened is 18 years ago.
Will support be coming – or can we work together to make it work? best, kenneth k

[Moderator note: Please, No bumping.]
]]>Would really appreciate if you help me out, I’m using content type ‘Fanfic’ where I have ticked ‘Exclusive’ so its owned by author. But that option is not allowing books with same names to be published. It shows an error message ‘Array is not owned by you’.
So people would have change the name of their books if another exists with the same name on the website. Would appreciate if you look into this, rest of the plugin is fine and working perfectly.
]]>Hi there,
I’d like to upgrade to WriteShare from eFiction, but unlike eFiction, WriteShare doesn’t appear to allow fanfics to be reviewed and rated. Will reviews and ratings be included in later releases?
Also, there was mention in the forums of building a script to allow people to move their data from eFiction to WriteShare. Was this script ever created?
Thanks!
]]>Let me just start by saying I love this plugin.
However, what keeps it from being perfect is when reading a chapter, at the end of the page, I can link to the next post, but not the next chapter of the ‘book’. Only the next chronological chapter that, in a fan-submitted story site, is impossible to land to the next chapter. It may as well be a random post button.
There is a plugin I found that could take posts in a category, and post links to posts in that category, but I can’t put chapters in POST categories.
I’m deathly afraid of altering the PHP on my template for home remedies to this, so if that’s my only option, could someone please explain what to copy-paste, and where?
]]>At this point in time, we are not support WriteShare.
We would love for another developer to take it over.
]]>Hello!
So far the plugin is working fabulously and users are able to read/submit stories with no issues. However, I’ve been notified of an issue in which mobile users are having problems with leaving comments. When they press ‘post comment’ they get a blank white box and nothing happens. PC users are not having this issue. Is this a known problem with a fix?
Thanks in advance.
]]>So far, I’ve found this plugin to be useful, only one issue I have and perhaps it’s a fault on my part, but categories don’t display on the content list on the admin side. I’ve been switching post type from post to content. I need to do bulk edits and it would be a lot easier if I could see the categories.
]]>For the life of me I cannot figure out what URL to put into the menu to reach the search/list of books page for Creative Writing on my website.
Is it possible to integrate the custom posts created with Writeshare to work with jetpack? Right now, none of the Jetpack features like comments, related posts, like/share work on the entries created with Writeshare.
]]>I am trying to run your plugin on the latest WordPress as of 18-04-2019 as a superadmin on a WP Multisite setup. I have set up the plugin to be network activated. It also has Buddypress on the site.
I cannot enter in new terms into the various fields. I set up the Book field as you have shown in your tutorial, as well as the chapter field. I can set up the chapter field from the front end but the Book field can only be entered through the back end. Can you help?
]]>[Had to create my own topic because moderator Jan Dembowski told me so]
I am the same guy who had contacted you via email 8 days prior to this,
The problem is that for a logged in, [non-admin], the mysites.com/write redirects to WordPress login page
I guess the problem would be with the user permissions for the [custom role]?
I then installed https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/user-role-editor/ plugin to edit the permissions but it didn’t work.
Any ideas?
]]>On your blog page https://wpwriteshare.com/blog/ you list scribblers.xyz as an example using your plugin. That site is no longer available. Can you provide other sites that use your plugin so I can see it in action? Thanks. Your plugin looks promising.
]]>I’m trying the plugin on a new server, and am working on converting from an eFiction database to WordPress. Things seem to be okay (though I’m worried about performance), but I need two additional fields that I don’t think are appropriate for WriteShare to handle (story summary and story notes). I have created additional fields through another plugin, but no matter what I can do, I can’t get them to show up within WriteShare in the “/write/” directory.
Anybody extended the plugin with custom fields, and if so, got any tips?

]]>I’m trying to figure out how I can display different fics from the taxonomies onto my front page, I want to post recently updated, popular and random.
But I can’t seem to figure out how to do this. Is this something located in the theme itself? (In which case, my theme doesn’t support it) or is some kind of widget plugin the way to do this?
Or am I way off?
Any information you can provide would help.
]]>My co-creator on this site is wanting to know if it’s possible to restrict content under a certain rating, such as Adult from being displayed unless the user has been given permission to do so.
He wants to guard against potentially underage readers getting access to adult content and wants some kind of age verification so an account has to go through.
Does write share allow for anything like this?
]]>I inquired a few months ago about this plugin’s compatibility with Elementor, and despite that there really is none, I’ve been trying hard to make this plugin work with my site.
The write form is much too large on my page. It stretches the entire width of the page, and doesn’t look at all appealing. I really want it on a full width page without the sidebar, and I want it formatted and structured so that is front, center, and lined up. How can I fix this?
I’ve been searching for so long for a plugin that does what I need, and this one is the only one that comes close, and I’m beginning to feel disheartened that I’ll never find the plugin I need. I don’t have the means of hiring a developer to make me one, hence why I really need this to work.
If anyone can assist me, I would be forever grateful!
]]>I’ve just installed a fresh brand new wordpress install just for this plugin, so I’d like to ask, is there a suggested theme that I SHOULD use. Or even a companion theme I should download that will allow me to get the best use out of this plugin.
I have been looking for something like this ever since I tried experimenting with Efiction and it…. it was just trash, then I discovered wordpress and immediately I wanted to use it as a fanfic repo and searched high and low for a plugin that would help me do that.
Now I’ve found this, and want to use it to the best it can be. So I need a theme and a layout that will work best.
thank you, AgentExeider
]]>Hello, I love the idea of this plugin and it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. However, it’s not working on my website.
Here are the issues I’m experiencing that, unfortunately, make this plugin useless for me:
– The front end editing won’t let me select or add anything (I click and type and nothing happens). I can live with this since I planned on posting all the stories manually anyway, but it would still be convenient.
– The page that’s supposed to have search and such (www.steampowereddreams.com/writing) displays everything in a non-formatted way with no filtering/searching.
– Even when I created a story on the backend, most of the formatting I saw in the setup videos just isn’t working.
The story page itself seems to be okay https://steampowereddreams.com/writing/test-title/
I’m guessing this might be an incompatibility with my theme (Divi), and that’s understandable, but any help would be much appreciated.
]]>Has anyone used this plugin on a former eFiction site? I need to migrate a custom eFiction database to something new, and the AO3 software isn’t ready for use. I’ve got experience migrating from a custom software package to eFiction, and didn’t want to have to recreate the wheel if someone’s already scripted this. Thanks!
]]>I cannot figure out how to get chapters to work, because I think I did something wrong when I completed the initial set up. I didn’t read the instructions properly and used Book as a category (because the fandom I use is based on different books within a visual novel game) and series to describe a specific series of fics and now there are 2000 fics and I don’t know how to set up chapters in a way that doesn’t involve de-categorizing all those fics. Is there anything I can do?
]]>I setup my menu with custom links as shown in the instructions. However, I am redirected to the home page. Can you shed some light on this? Aren’t there short codes that could be used instead?
Also the instructions for linking to the usewr’s profile are not clear either. It’s not clear if USERNAME will is the automatic insert of the logged-in user or if one must explicitly create menu items for each user.

What have I done wrong?

Hi! I really like the plugin, but it’s missing a really important feature for me. I need authors to be able to add a custom post type book page that will embed the table of contents and allow them to add a book cover…
Can you work on this?

I saw the topic about this above from about a year ago, and honestly, it was mostly gibberish to me, so I’ll need more assistance than what was listed there. I am not very code savvy, so I would need step-by-step instructions on how to fix this. And I’m patient, I don’t need an answer right away, but any help would be super appreciated!
