I noticed that other people reported issues with the plugin. We recently had a similar issue where zip files didn’t work. We ended up opening the zip files in our code editor, and found the following error:
Notice: Constant zip_attachments_path already defined in /var/www/html/wp-content/plugins/zip-attachments/download.php on line 12
With that error in mind, we removed the same definition in the file ‘zip-attachments.php’ on line 18. This fixed the error. So there should probably be a conditional statement for this definition, in order to avoid errors in the future.

Hello,
if we put the button on the category page of woocommerce
presently it zips and downloads the images of ONLY 1st product
can it zip the images of all products on that particular page
and download ?
I want to generate a link to the zip archive in a page which is sent by a newsletter tool. So I’d need a solution where no JavaScript/AJAX is used.
Is it possible to link to a specific URL where the zip archive is generated?
For the webpage it works fine, but I want to use it within a newsletter as well.
Hi! First, I love this plugin. There is nothing out there like it!
I am having issues with it though. When the downloaded ZIP file expands, it produces another compressed .CPGZ file instead of the folder of images. Please help!
You can see how it works here (the download button is at the bottom of the page): https://www.filmlb.com/blair-field-minor-league-baseball/
Thank you!
Hi, is it possible to use this plugin for pages that are protected by the password? I’m a photographer and I need some my pages to be restricted. I downlanded this plugin and it works well for normal post and pages but not for the restricted ones. Any tips?
Hi,
lovely simple plugin! Great.
do you think you could modify the plugin in order to zip+download the content of a specific folder on the server?
That would be very helpful.
maybe specifying the directory location in the short code.
I tried modifying the php code but I struggle with specifying the path location.
I’m a newbie to php… ?? Sry…
Hi,
I am desperately looking for a plugin that can identify the images contained in a [gallery] shortcode on a post/page, and offer a ZIP of those images to the user.
Your plugin comes closest to this. Except, your plugin identifies the images that attached to the post, and offer those as a download. But sometimes, a gallery present on a post will contain images that are either not attached to this specific post, or not attached to any posts.
Is there a way to add a way to add this option in your plugin?
And then perhaps in the functions.php we can identify if we would like to offer the download from the attachement files, or from the [gallery] shortcode? + if we choose [gallery], then perhaps the DOWNLOAD button would appear directly under the [gallery] instead of at the end of the post.
Hi,
is it possible, that the download button will process the download not of the attachements directly, but instead uses the original file from the media library?
Also it woult be nice that only registered users have access to this.
thx, Patrick
I would like to offer our 24-track MP3 album as a single download. WP is not accpeting my WinZip Folder (wasn’t aware WP had difficulty with ZIP Files) – will this Plugin work for my needs? I want to offer this album to customers for downloading. I already have the individual MP3s uploaded, but I need to bundle them as they must be sold together – it is a complete program. Thank you in advance.
This plugin is what I need for my image gallery. However, after I pressed the download button, the zip file cannot be opened.
It would say
Error: The archive is either unknown format or damaged
I also tried this on the twentyfifteen theme with no success. Tried as a shortcode and as function on the template.
Are there any solutions?
P.S.
The download times works. It’s just that the zip file is not working.
I’m getting this error msg on the latest zip-attachment version:
Notice: Undefined variable: za_button_counter in /var/www/html/wp-content/plugins/zip-attachments/zip-attachments.php on line 124
However, I’m only getting this error on one of our servers and not the on the other one. Both have identical configurations. I’n not sure why that is the case.
I have tried deleting and re-installing the plugin.
Hi, I was hoping to use your Zip Attachments plugin to zip up multiple audio files that I publish in a blog post. Unfortunately the audio files are linked as URLs as they are all over 2mb’s, not image files in the media library – will there be anyway I can use your plugin to achieve this?
The example provided for single.php in readme.txt does not correctly display the download button.
The current suggested code is:
<?=function_exists('za_show_button') ? za_show_button("Download") : ''?>
However, because za_show_button
only returns the text, nothing gets displayed.
This can be fixed by changing the function name to follow WordPress conventions, such as “za_get_button
“, which implies that it returns a value to be echoed or manipulated.
In addition, <?
should always be an explicit <?php
as per WordPress php standards.
The suggested code can be changed to:
<?php echo function_exists('za_show_button') ? za_show_button("Download") : '' ?>
really handy plugin zip attachments is, i however cant put my finder on as to why the zip files downloaded extract into .cpgz files that then extracts to .zip and the loop is infinite
Everything seems file except the file wont extract to reveal the contents expected
any particular reason this may be?

Two features that would make this plugin awesome would be the following:
1. Download counter, with the count being stored as zip_download_count in the post meta.
2. Caching for the zip files, this way an existing file can be served up to posts that have frequent downloads.
Thanks.

Is there something that can be done to fix this?
can you please add a download counter.. a separate code would be nice..

It would be great if the plugin provided a way to include files by attachment ID as a parameter in shortcode, eg.
[za_show_download_button text=”Download the file” attachment_id=”101,186″]

Post titles with hyphen (-) wont download… every post in my site has it.. ??
Hi!
I would like to use a plugin called “Zip Attachments” on my site (kuvat.kosloff.me), and it works perfectly with normal posts (for example this post), but if I use galleries within the posts it wont work (this post). Instead of a working zip-file, I get only an empty zip, which transfers into a cgpz-file, when trying to extract it.
Do you have any ideas how to get the plugin work with galleries also?
Thanks
Miioff
