I installed this plugin as I have heard it is used by some of my favourite food bloggers, so I went ahead and excitedly downloaded it. Done, read instructions, activated, configured on the setting page. Now when I go into post visual to write a post, there is no knife and fork icon. So I’ve tried creating new posts, editing existing ones, re-downloading… nothing.
But that’s not my main reason for the one star, I posted this topic on the support forum three weeks ago, then followed up a week ago, then again today, and the only reply I have had is from a member telling me the button is in post visual mode… i KNOW that. the whole point of the post is that it WASN’T there.
I also emailed Ziplist directly with no reply. All in all it is the level of support that concerns me. As a food blogger if there were any issues and then no support, that’s not good. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

Best, free and great customer service.

Works perfectly for formatting recipes and making them easy to find for your visitors, along with many other features. Very convenient!
I had some problems with a WP 3.9 upgrade — initially — but when I contacted email support, they responded with a fix in minutes. Excellent service. I believe the fix will be posted to www.ads-software.com soon.

If you haven’t upgraded to WordPress 3.9, this plugin is really nice. I’ve been using it for quite a while and it is easy to use an has a nice display.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t play well with the editor in WordPress 3.9. Now I’ll have to either give up updating my site, or give up the plugin until it is fixed.

Wonderful support. Much more than we deserve with a free plugin.

It works just fine and is easy to add recipes. My complaint, though, is that the coding is stupid. I can’t understand what persuaded the Ziplist team to use things like asterisks to bold the headers instead of just using regular HTML.
Also, their website shows some “examples” of customized recipe cards that implies the people who made the cards did it using the very basic Settings that come with the plugin. Uh…no. You CANNOT use the plugin settings to change the color scheme, move the photo alignment, or use different save recipe/print recipe buttons. You have to understand the CSS in order to do that. And even if you DO understand CSS enough to edit it, it won’t help you because they didn’t include the codes you need to change anything.
Apparently if you contact them asking for the codes, they will gladly hand them over for free, assuming they answer AT ALL. Since getting them to answer inquiries is a common complaint, I’m going to hedge a guess that it won’t get you anywhere. But if the codes are free, anyway, then I don’t understand why they don’t just GIVE US THE CODES TO BEGIN WITH.
Ziplist is the only recipe plugin I’ve been able to use successfully and with ease, so far, but I am still really disappointed with it.

I haven’t had any trouble with this plugin and I like that it makes the recipes printable and searchable.

Every single time I try to add a recipe. Rest of my site works just fine…I get the ISE when I try to use this plugin only, upon hitting the “Add Recipe” button. Plugin deleted.

This is a great plugin! Other recipe plugins want me to type each ingredient, each step, etc., in different text boxes and it was a real pain. This one I can even copy and paste text in. My only suggestion would be to add a separate section on the back end for recipe posts (like a gallery) instead of them all going into one area with the rest of my posts for easier management.

I installed the plugin for a client. It seems OK. But I was hoping to have access via the HTML editor.
