I have this alert from WordFence on my client’s site regarding the free Zendesk chat plugin developed by Zendesk. Is this plugin still supported or not? Because it LOOKS like it isn’t.
The Plugin “Zendesk Chat” appears to be abandoned (updated August 19, 2020, tested to WP 5.5.14).
Type: Plugin Abandoned
your plugin is 3 years out of date!
which surprises me because I pay over $100 a month for zendesk software. Please let us know if there is a different plugin, or update this one
thanks
Hi, my firewall is detecting that this plugin hasn’t been updated in 2 years. Please can you mark it as compatible with the latest version of wordpress?
Thanks
Hi
The plugin does not work with WP version 6, are you planning an update?
The request to static.zdassets.com/ekr/snippet.js?key=###
Seems to be occurring early and blocking/non-async.
Maybe because it’s dynamically loaded from
https://ekr.zdassets.com/snippets/web_widget/####.zendesk.com
?dynamic_snippet=true
Anyway, this seems counter to the recommendations here
https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039299153
Would it be possible to defer ZD Chat from loading at all until the page is actually complete? or at least async?

It’s now on the footer bar.
How can I move it up a bit?
I see it hasn’t been tested or updated in over a year. Are you planning on testing/keeping this plugin up to date? Is there another method that can be used to have zenchat on a wordpress site and not use this plugin?
I would like to test it but for security reasons, I don’t use plugins that aren’t maintained.

When we check the issue with Wordfense they ask us to check;

kindly update does your plugin has “anti spam protection”

Hello.
Do you have a date for a new version compatible with WooCommerce 4.0?
Thanks.
Hi,
I have these errors in my site:
SyntaxError: missing name after . operator
ReferenceError: $zopim is not defined
The errors are visible in browser console!
I think that the issue is generated by the code added automatically by plugin:
$zopim( function() {
})
I tried to removed it, but the pluing added it automatically.
How can I resolve?
Thanks a lot!
Hi,
I did managed to link it with my zendesk account. However, the widget not showing on the website.
I did use it before, and never had this problem.
Many thanks

I recently contacted the Zendesk via their official support channel since I was evaluating their offering for my client. Since many messages here mentioned support issues I raised it with them and yesterday I got confirmation that:
“… at this time our WordPress apps are not being actively developed right now”
We chose Freshdesk instead.

Hello Everyone,
I installed and activated the plugin successfully. I am now at the page “Set up your Zendesk Chat Account” where I am supposed to link up my Zendesk Chat account.
Problem: I enter my Zendesk username, password and also the subdomain (“syfe”). Once I click on “Link Up” it shows me the following error message: “Could not log in to Zendesk Chat. Please check your login details.”. The same happens if I keep the subdomain empty.
If I change the subdomain to “syfe.zendesk.com” it forwards me to the next page without an error message BUT the chat want show up on my WordPress blog (I cleared the cache etc). Also the “Launch Dashboard” button would redirect me to “syfe.zendesk.com.zendesk.com” which tells me that the subdomain field only expects the subomain without the top-level domain.
Shouldn’t be relevant but I am using the full Zendesk suit, currently still within the 30 days trial period.
I appreciate your help!
Thanks,
Sebastian
The plugin presented a problem with the vulnerability causing several call openings in my zendesk support. The problem occurred in January of this year and zendesk support limited the entire content of the forum by password. Has this been fixed? Is there no chatbot option for this plugin?
Hi,
I received an automatic e-mail from WordPress warning that “WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, Zendesk Chat Widget”.
Here′s the error details: https://imgur.com/a/y2gRha8
I′m not sure what I should do. Does anyone overcome this issue?
Best regards,
Ricardo Franco
This plugin was set up previously and working fine. We recently updated to WordPress 5.+ and it stopped working. When I looked at the page I noticed the Zendesk code was being injected multiple times so I removed the other instances and now it’s only on the page once, inside the head tag where it should be, but the chat widget is still not working and we aren’t getting any errors.
Please advise how to make this work.

Hello,
Im trying to disable chat widget until user accept cookies (Cookie Notice by dFactory).
Im using this function:
if ( function_exists('cn_cookies_accepted') && ! cn_cookies_accepted() ) {
add_action('wp_footer','ab_disable_chat', 20);
function ab_disable_chat() {
echo'';
}
}
But problem is that chat window is not showing before and after cookies are accepted too. I checked html source code, echoed is not included (after cookies are accepted, cache plugin deactivated).
Is this problem of Zopim plugin?
Thanks you

Hi.
I am sorry I couldn’t find option where I can report problems with the Zendesk Chat plugin.
Some of my clients are using Zendesk Chat and I have installed your plugin for WordPress. After few days we got a note from Google AdWords that the malware application or url is detected on the website and AdWords was disabled on the website.
I have asked for explanation and they sent us message that the problem is with the url which is generated by Zendesk plug-in:
https://www.x5wp.org/jquery.js
We were using previous version of the plug-in, I believe 1.4.11. I have disabled the Zendesk Chat plugin and the url is now gone from all pages. We submitted website to Google for validation and hopefully AdWords will be active again during next 48 hours.
Do you have o ther cases where people reported the same problems? Can it be sorted out in next version of the plug-in?
Zendesk Chat is important to my clients and I cannot install and activate this plugin unless it will not cause any issues with AdWords.
Thank you
