After the automatic update to 1.0.4 my website failed to show the content of the start page. Only some pages like contact and so on I could call directly.
I deactivated all plugins and switched them on one after the other. Two plugins seem to make problems (W3 Total Cache and Complianz | GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent). But even when they were kept deactivated, the site only showed the header.
Installing the 1.0.3 version helped to solve the problem, but I still work on my child theme to get it back to the original view.
In using this theme, I’m finding that if I upgrade to PHP 7.3 or PHP 7.4, the theme itself seems to break.
Specifically what I notice is that:
* The sidebars disappear from the homage and cannot be re-added.
* If you go to the Widgets in the theme editor for WordPress, it says this: “Your theme has 4 widget areas, but this particular page doesn’t display them. You can navigate to other pages on your site while using the Customizer to view and edit the widgets displayed on those pages.”
* The widgets do show on the post pages; just not on the home page.
* The header (which normally shrinks and stays persistent at the top) no longer works. Now the title panel is offset and covers the content.
* I have tested this with no plugins installed at all. The problem always resolves if I move back to PHP 7.0. The problem always occurs if I move to 7.3 or 7.4.
I don’t have my site configured this way now because of the breakage. There is an image of what this looks like here when the breakage occurs: https://testerstories.com/files/bad-template-issue.png
