Hi!

I probably have some little setting somewhere that I’m overlooking. If you go to https://klarakolonits.com/en/home-en/ you see one main post plus 4 posts in 4 columns. If you go to https://klarakolonits.com/hu/home-hu/ you see main post plus 5 posts in 4 columns. Whatever I switch in theme options, applies to both languages somehow differently. The current setting is show 5 (which I understand as the sticky plus four) and it works for English but not for Hungarian where it ends up being sticky plus five.

(The posts aren’t the same on both versions but it shouldn’t be an issue).

I think this theme should be updated to keeping up with newest version of WooCommerce. There is notice in my dashboard with:

Your theme (Ascend) contains outdated copies of some WooCommerce template files. These files may need updating to ensure they are compatible with the current version of WooCommerce. Suggestions to fix this:

1. Update your theme to the latest version. If no update is available contact your theme author asking about compatibility with the current WooCommerce version.
2. If you copied over a template file to change something, then you will need to copy the new version of the template and apply your changes again.

I’m finding the page title a distraction with a busy background and I’d like to switch it off. Is it possible to hide it? It won’t let me set the size as zero,

Hi,

I’ve activated sticky header adjust the shrinking option. But, it’s only work for homepage. I’ve tried to open some of my posts and not work at all. In older version of this theme (I’ve forgotten which one), the sticky header always work. I use Firefox and Chrome browser and not working in both desktop and mobile for that browsers. Please help.

Up until a few days ago, the Gallery (where the portfolio grid is) worked fine – you could click on a painting and would be taken to the appropriate portfolio page. But now when you click on the paintings, the portfolio pages come up as “Sorry, but the page you were trying to view does not exist.”

I am not sure what has happened – could this have been caused by an update to the Ascend theme? The portfolio pages still exist on the backend but for some reason they are not showing up live. Any help would be so much appreciated as I am completely at a loss on this one. Thank you…

I’m having issues on the website that I’m managing.

How can we fix this issue?

The transparent header disappears when the option “Enable Transparent header until scrolled by default?” is activated and “Display page title by default” is deactivated.

Is the problem documented?

my question: I can’t manage it to present the last article in fully formatted version (‘single post view’ the term?) instead of an mostly unformatted excerpt. I think, there must be a setting for this within the theme/and or WordPress itself.

(If you want to check: I would like to have this view as starting page https://www.gobs-amt-neuhaus.de/hp-aktualisierung/ and not this ‘general’ view https://www.gobs-amt-neuhaus.de/ — pls bear in mind, that the website is active, so the article can change very soon…)

Hi,

One of our clients is using this theme and we are trying to create an archive template with Elementor. We can create the template fine but the crocoblock filtering for custom post types doesn’t work properly.

When we disable the theme and enable Hello Elementor it starts to work.

There are also a bunch of console jquery errors on this page. We are running Ascend Premium Version: 1.9.23

After the latest update of WP and WC, one of the WC templates is out of date.

ascend/woocommerce/product-searchform.php version 3.3.0 is out of date. The core version is 7.0.1,

Could you update the template?

The Ascend Widget that shows recent posts has an ability to filter by Category. We have a category called “Playing Days” and when I select this I can see a Playing Day event which is correct. However, when I set the filter back to “All” the playing day event is no longer visible. Is this a bug?

I saw the last update was in 2021. I think all of users are waiting for update for now. Please update your theme.

I would need two different CSS for the font.
The first concerns the menus, which are always written in lowercase letters … I would need to use both lowercase and uppercase letters in the menus.
The second is related to the type of font used in the “page title”, which does not seem editable.
Can someone help me?

May I ask how to add ‘Read more’ button to ‘Portfolio Grid’ module on main page?

I’m using Free Ascend template on several sites and I love it.

I have a compatibility issue in the admin panel after installing the Post Grid plugin.(www.ads-software.com/plugins/post-grid/)

Selects in Theme Options are broken, instead of the select I get a x next to the value previously selected and there is no way to change it

From the console I get “The select2(‘destroy’) method was called on an element that is not using Select2.”.

Site is using latest Woocommerce and latest WordPress installations

I had the same problem 1 year ago in another site and after investigation I found that was related to the WooCommerce Product Subtitle plugin.
At that time I opened a ticket but the problem was not solved

Could you please suggest a fix to resolve these compatibility issues of Ascend with plugin using Select2?

I need some help with getting the mobile menu to close automatically when a # anchor link is clicked.

I’ve tried this script, but it does not work.

It does indeed close the menu, but does not jump to the correct section. When I remove the script, section jumps are working correctly, but again the menu does not close.

I am unsure when the search function stopped working (though I have recently migrated to a different Linux server). I tried removing, then re-installing the Ascend theme, but that did not help.

I have temporarily changed to the WordPress “Twenty Twenty-One” theme, with which the search function does work.

Could you please reply with suggestions on what to try?

Hi there — been trying to get rid of the “Read More” link at the end of each post shown on the home page (and archive pages). I stumbled on an old post that gave me this code:

remove_filter('excerpt_more', 'ascend_excerpt_more');
remove_filter( 'get_the_excerpt', 'ascend_custom_excerpt_more' );
}
add_action( 'init', 'custom_child_init' );

I have put that into my child theme’s functions — which got rid of the link, but now there’s a […] in its place. it’d be nice to have the trailing text end in a “…” as it did before but without the brackets. Any ideas?

Hi!

My website is not working completely on some phones, especially iPhones. There are two problems with it:

1. The menu doesn’t open.
2. The blog posts don’t show.

This doesn’t seem to be the case for all iPhones though. Does anyone have an idea how I could fix this when the problem seems to be so specific?

Whenever I go to a page with multiple posts on the site it seems to load the posts and then re-load them again (they flash gone and then re-appear), see home page for an example: https://thepostrider.com/

I am getting an alert I have a duplicate query for “load_posts()” running on the home page and other pages too which makes me think it could be that. Any ideas on how to stop this?

After uptade Ascend theme, I’ve noticed that there is additional space between blog posts on my home page. Please look at the screen.
Please help with fixing this.

On the home page header the slider no longer works for the setting that allows link to open in new page. I’m not sure how long this has been a problem, but I edited the page yesterday and it isn’t working even though the box is correctly checked.

Running on PC
WP 5.7
Ascend 1.4.7
PHP 7.4.6
Plugins Up-to-date (and I’ve turned each off to test for problems)
I’ve tested using Chrome and Firefox, and tested on an Ipad

I’ve chosen No Sidebar Layout under Theme Options > Shop Archive Settings > Shop Archive Sidebar Defaults. It shows a blank column to the right of the products. Is this by design? I was hoping the products would fill the page.
