Hi! My name is Natalie and I have a problem! I am about to migrate a site from wordpress.com to www.ads-software.com. Before doing this I already have the “Bushwick” Theme installed, which is the one that I will be using. I also installed the Jetpack plugin to get it working properly. Still, when I want to customize the look of my www.ads-software.com site with a sample page, the “colors” option only allows me to change the background. However, in my wordpress.com account, using the same Theme, I can modify much more than that; such as headers, links, etc. What could be going on?
P.S: I don’t think it’s a Theme problem, since I’m also doing the same process with a website that uses a Publication as a Theme, and that one also have problems concerning “Colors”. Even so, I was recommended to put my concern here.
]]>Hi, I would like to alter the CSS to delete the action bar that appears in the bottom right corner of the page. Could you help?
]]>I “migrated” (half-manual) a site from wordpress.com to www.ads-software.com.
I continue to use the same template (Bushwick)
it looks OK on PC – and also on the desktop “mobile preview”, but on mobile, the site uses only ~20% of the browser width.
Testing on “google chrome” debugging tool shows the site is indeed responsive – above 1024 pixels it shows OK, but just below that, it resizes the text to 20%
How can I fix this to look correctly on mobile?
]]>I’m having an annoying problem where while a page is loading it always flashes the original theme font. Is this fixable?
I tried to even fix it by trying to switch the fonts back to the original theme fonts (which I don’t like nearly as much), but couldn’t even locate which fonts those are from the list of default options
]]>Hello! How would I hide the entry-meta (i. e. “Posted ago by xy”) that appears below each headline on the blog page? Is there a quick way to do this using Custom CSS? Any help will much appreciated!
]]>Hi, after updating firefox to version 78.0.1 from version 77.x
there was a problem that in firefox it displays a page with about 30% zoom of the text on the whole page.
The text on the page has increased.
Theme: Bushwick / Version: 1.3.3
Thank you for your response
]]>Hi hi, I am trying to create a website with Bushwick. I don′t know how to use CSS. I try to change the fonts and the colour of the Header, which is also where the menu is (on the right side). I installed the plugin Google fonts but with this I can only change the fonts of the Paragraphs and the title of the website. Not the title of the different pages nor the Header Color and fonts.
Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you!
Hi,
Thank you very much for this beautiful theme.
I just saw this thread : https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/bushwick-hides-nearly-everything-about-posts-on-the-blog-page/ > it is quite I need.
I would like to display an excerpt of 50 words of the first post instead of the entire content.
And same for next posts after in the list.
How can I do that ?
Thank you very much.
]]>Hi
Thanks so much for the Bushwick theme, I wanted to create a quality environment for users’ content and it’s perfect.
But – I need to be able to use the Jetpack widget, Countdown, so that it’s always visible on one or two pages. As far as I can see the sidebar is only visible when users lick on the Menu icon. What can I do? (I’m not a programmer so wouldn’t know where to start.?
]]>I noticed when I click on the colors tab in the customizer it’s blank… no options to edit, no nothing. I downloaded a plugin to change the colors but I really rather not use a plugin for this. Please help, thanks in advance!
]]>Hello Everyone,
has anyone idea how to create slider in section header? I mean to put slider in left area of main page so that slider takes full height of window and about half of width. Effect I’m going to get is presented in demo of theme Bushwick however there is no slider – there is only static photo-content.
Thank you in advance! ??
]]>I wonder how I change the sidebar icon? Can it be done via CSS?
]]>Hello,
I’using Bushwick theme since yesterday. A great theme but there is one ‘minor’ thing I dislike. The date. I would like to have a full written date like september, 8th 1917…
Can anybody help me getting this done?
Thanks in advance.
greetings,

]]>Please see https://www.alaincoulombe.com/site/news/
There are two main blog categories and I would like to show the post content on the Category Archive instead of just a link to the post.
Preferably I’d like to show all complete posts but if that’s not possible, then the default Bushwick blog view where the first post shows content and the others are links?
Thanks!
Ive just installed the Bushwick theme for my blog, and I absolutely love it. It looks great on the laptop. However, when I look at it on the mobile/iPad version, the page tabs disappear and I am unable to access the widgets (as I tried adding the pages to the widget).
Any suggestions?
]]>This blog shows the first post in its entirety, but not every blog post that follows it. Bushwick only displays when posts were posted beneath that. Where there should be at least an excerpt or thumbnail image from individual blog posts, there is just “Posted 2 months ago.”
Why? How is that even happening? Is that a theme setting I can change somewhere? Is this the expected default behavior?
]]>I’m an absolute beginner and have just created a site for myself with the Bushwick theme: coliverodonnell.com
I’d like to make 3 changes to the design of my site and I’m hoping that users here can help me.
1). Reposition the current “About” menu/link in the upper left so that it is displayed with the other menus to the right.
2). Hide or disable the current expandable menu in the upper right.
3). Disable the mobile and tablet views of the site. I feel that the website is simple enough that it can be navigated easily on a phone or tablet with the desktop view. And I don’t like how the mobile and tablet views change the design of the site.
Thanks in advance for your help!
]]>I try to center the logo image horizontally in the header div and push it to the bottom. I have used the css recommended in the support thread “Replace site title with logo image” (which is closed) https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/replace-site-title-with-logo-image/
Can somebody please tell how to achieve that?

]]>Hi,
I have a peculiar issue where i was modifying the CSS for font color and title position and ended up messing the header image position. I am unable to get it back to the way it was. The image now scrolls with the entire page as opposed to the original where the image remained static while the content on the right scrolled along. I’d really appreciate if you could help me find out possibly what controls the header scroll property. I am fairly new to CSS and coding and the site is on my WAMP server so cannot post a live link. **All and any help is much appreciated**
In Bushwick, at the bottom of a post, the categories & tags which are linked to the post are displayed. Currently, they are shown as a definition list (DL). What’s more, the tags and categories lists are both nested within a single DL-tag.
What I would like to do is 1 of 2 things. I would like to either output both lists as separate ULs. Or I would like to output both lists, but put each list (either the categories, or the tags) in a separate DL.
Both options will make it much easier for me to style the tags and categories lists in the way I want to. Among others, it will make it easier for me to display the tags & cats horizontally (or side-by-side) instead of the current vertical layout (which is the default for a DL).
However, I cannot find out how to do/change this.
I looked at “content-single.php”, as this is where the 2 lists seem to be generated.
I changed both calls for the cats & tags to calls without parameters. According to the WordPress reference, this should result in 2 ULs being output. Which is sort of what happens, but these lists are still nested in DL and DD tags. Which is not what I want!
I CAN of course add PHP code to strip the DL-formatting from the output and then add the tags that I want. But that to me seems like a very ‘dirty’ way of getting to what I want: I cannot imagine that there is not an easier or cleaner way to do this…!
Hi
I’ve got change the Side-Bar icon with this change in the style.css
.menu-toggle:before,
.navigation-main .widget-handle:before {
content: '\f304';
font-family: 'Genericons';
font-size: 2rem;
font-weight: bold;
text-decoration: none;
vertical-align: top;
}
Now I would like to show the Genericon ‘\f304’ when the users are logout and shoe the the Genericon ‘\f445’ when the user is login; then I’ve change the file “navigation.php” with this code:
<?php global $user_ID;
get_currentuserinfo();
if ('' == $user_ID) {
//no user logged in
?>
<a class="widget-handle genericon" href="#" title="<?php esc_attr_e( 'Login', 'bushwick' ); ?>"></a>
<?php
} else {
?>
<a class="widget-handle genericon" style="content: '\f445';" href="#" title="<?php esc_attr_e( 'Profile Setting', 'bushwick' ); ?>"></a>
<?php
}
?>
But the side-bar icons always is the same ‘\f304’… ??
Any idea How could change the Side-Bar icon dinamically?

]]>I am busy creating a slider with Master Slider. In this slider, you can use a number of animation effects, which rely on 3D Javascript/CSS code.
These effects work fine in Firefox, Safari, and (mostly) in IE. However, in Chrome they are not working.
That is: the effects are working in the preview option on the admin interface, but not on the live page containing a slider. I have looked into this with support of Master Slider, and they said that it is some code in the Bushwick theme that is blocking the 3D options from working:
The functions that check browser for supporting 3d CSS effects returns false (Just in this case). But it should returns true in chrome.
So it seems there are some scripts that affects on CSS 3d effects.
When I temporarily switch to the default WordPress theme (TwentyFifteen), the 3D effects are working in Chrome too, even on the live pages. So it really must be something in Bushwick.
Does anybody have any idea how to fix this?
]]>The titles of my blog posts are covering the name of my book, which is on the picture to the left. Is there a way to change that so that the blog post title only appears above the post? See here:
Thank you!
I’m having trouble on my blog where the header image does not display after switching to Cloudflare’s SSL. I’ve tried all the suggestions here, including adding a patch to the functions.php, changing URLs in settings to https, and ensuring all my content is secure with both Cloudflare’s plugins and the SSL insecure content fixer plugin. However, the issue persists.
If I inspect the element, I can see the background image URL is correct in the CSS, and if I load the image in a separate tab, then refresh the page, the image displays normally. Sometimes the image will load briefly, then disappear. However, invariably, if I open a new incognito tab and load the site, the image will not display.
So I know the URLs seem to be correct, and the image *can* display, so it doesn’t seem to be a mixed content thing. I don’t think it’s a hosting issue because the image displayed fine before. The issue seems to be present on Firefox and Chrome, and on mobile. What am I missing?
]]>Hello,
Was referred here after posting in the general wordpress forums (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/javascript-stopped-working-1?replies=4#post-7215892)
I have a page, uprootedanthology.com/people that had javascript implemented (“hover over image…”) and working seamlessly for a few months. I made some slight change to content (and only content) this past week, continuously checking the page that the hover function was still working. Today, I suddenly noticed that it is no longer working at all! I tried reverting to previous revisions of the page (when I’m 100% the javascript was working) and looked at the code, but there have been no changes to the javascript part within the page. I’m tried outputting to the console, but it looks like non of the jquery requests are being run at all! No idea what is going on.
Unfortunately, I did this a few months ago and don’t quite remember all the intricacies of how I implemented all this (and I’m not a programmer by trade…)
I did not update Bushwick or wordpress at all recently. I did update some plugins, but I went one by one deactivating each one to see if one of them was causing the problem, but to no avail… Also deactivated them all at once, and the problem persists.
Have there been any changes in javascript/jquery that might explain why this suddenly stopped working? can anyone help? Thanks!
]]>Hi,
First of all thanks for making an amazing theme ??
Just relating to this thread though, I’m having the same problem too: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/child-theme-has-two-sidebar-menus?replies=10
Here’s the code I have in my functions.php:
<?php
function bushwick_child_enqueue_child() {
wp_register_style( 'bushwick', get_template_directory_uri() . '/style.css' );
wp_enqueue_style( 'bushwick-child', get_stylesheet_uri(), array( 'bushwick' ) );
}
add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'bushwick_child_enqueue_child' );
You can see the problem here – https://veegan.co.uk/
Any ideas on how to fix this please? Thank you ??

]]>Hi
I’ll like to move the home menu to the right alongside the other menu items. I’ve set the home menu as a url (rather than page) in the custom menu settings as described here:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/menu-home-link-still-on-the-left-side?replies=17
but this doesn’t seem to solve the problem for me.
Any ideas? The is the link for the site in development: https://www.onerus.com/stlyard/

]]>Hello,
I recently noticed that my page has been loading rather slowly on safari on an iphone, and oftentimes not showing the header image at all. Furthermore, when I try with google chrome on my phone, it’ll show the header image, but crashes a lot of the time. I looked into my hosting domain, and don’t see any errors reported through cpanel (but I’m also a novice here, so not sure how to tell 100%).
Either way, this was not an issue a few days ago and was wondering if you have any ideas how to fix this? I recently updated my header image, could this be a part of the problem? It was a big file, but I did condense it so didn’t think it would be an issue.
Thanks!
