I’m struggling with the featured menu and hope you can find a solution for me because otherwise i will have to change the theme and start over. ??????

I’d like to move the “featured menu” block up on my home page. This would allow me to put it in the same “box” as the title and the introductory paragraph, without having two ligns/spaces in a row. Do you know how to do this?

I also need to link my featured menu to normal pages since the website is not for a restaurant, can you explain how to do this ? (i’m using wordpress.com).

Hi, I’m trying to create the Featured Menu Section in Canape theme. I’ve already created a Menu Section (under Food Menus), but I don’t see it available in the Theme Options -> Front Page dropdown lists. What can I be missing? Thank you.

I built my site on a development domain and just switched it to the live domain today. The menu pages are no longer showing up on the front of the site, though I’ve updated all the urls. I can’t figure out what’s going on. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I would like to remove the field for “Website” on my website’s comment forms (it’s confusing customers). WordPress support suggested downloading the Comment Link Remove plugin but it doesn’t work, and I also tried downloading the Code Snippet plugin and entering some codes to remove it but they didn’t work.

I’m not very code-savvy so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Could anyone suggest how to change the size of the image in the Menu Section under “Catering Service’?

I would like to it be approx 2/3 larger than what it is now.

I would like the other images on the Menu page to remain as they are.

How can I enable the Menu toggle section to be visible on the cell phone version at all times? At the moment it is invisible when you upload the site on your phone, but appears when you hover over it. I would like it to be visible at all times.

I have two slideshows on this website, and they are both showing the message “This slideshow requires JavaScript” (scroll to very bottom of home page for example).
I checked my settings in google chrome and javascript is already allowed/enabled.
Any idea why this is happening? Is it something that needs to be fixed within wordpress?

Hello, first of all, the theme is great! However, after uploading my logo, the header seems to stretch slightly out of proportion. There seems to be too much padding above the logo, more then below it which makes it look uneven and the header just looks slightly too large on the whole. There is just too much white space in it… Whereas it was slimmer and a lot more streamline before uploading the logo.

Is there any way someone can help me fix this…:)

Hi, i am actually a beginner in wordpress and i am encountering a problem, because i want to change the default “testimony” page title (not editable via admin), wich is a category page. I already succeeded to hide the “category” prefix by editing the archive.php, but i think that the “testimony” title is implemented in the html so i cant change it without causing an error.

i am in the process of creating my new homepage and love the canape theme.
However i have some difficulties in using the three main page widgets correctly.
1.) In the sample theme these show appetizers, main course, desserts. I would like to use them for something else and would like to link to a seperate page (in my case food, beverage and rentals – we do catering) if you click on the widget area. Is that possible and if yes, how is it done ?
I found the menu function and have activated the Jetpack Plugin but see no possibility to link the widget areas to the menu. In my case i would like to link to a seperate page (like from the main menu for example).
2.) Second question is how can i create a hover effect of the three widget areas like in the sample theme ?

Im losing my mind over this since im looking for the solution for serveral hours now.

I’ve products in WooCommerce ánd a template (single product) build with Elementor Pro.
When building with elementor, the template looks perfect.

When going live, my product is showing double and not only the template format.
What is going wrong here and what can I do to fix?

I can’t find instructions for reducing the padding around the content sidebar widgets. There is entirely too much space top and bottom, making visitors have to scroll instead of seeing the two I have there above-the-fold.
I have found scraps of CSS dropped into various threads without instructions as to where to put them exactly or how. Is there a non-coding solution? I don’t see an edit option in the widgets area of my dashboard. Help would be appreciated!

Hi, I would like to change the color of the ? active link in the primary menu. From black to white and even more, if possible, in bold.
? Also the contour of the submenu, it’s black now and I wd like to have it orange
? The links in the submenu also in orange.

Also: ? Center the content of the first widget area in the footer. Instead of being stick from the left.
? Change the size of the logo in the header, to a little bit bigger.
? Under the “Testimonial” text in the home page, there’s a space. I would like to make it smaller.

Hello, I’ve been using Canape theme for a while and really like it. Recently I want to try to add the Food Menu and Testimonial into my website, instead of creating separate pages like I did at the moment.

I’m using Polylang to translate my website into 3 language options. So far it works awesome. However I can’t figure out how to create the Food Menu and Testimonial’s translation. Any suggestion on how to do it? Or is there any other plugin I can use to translate.

I’m not able to find the “testimonials” in my customizer, nor figure out where I can upload text/info for it. I’m not sure if I have a plug-in that somehow messed with the theme, but I did just deactivate any plug-ins I added that were new. I am using www.ads-software.com. Any help with this?

If you look at my page on a mobile, you can see that on the frontpage the text is in center. But if you take a look at another page, for instance ‘over mij’, the text is alligned to the left.. how do I fix this on these pages to have it similar as on front page?

I am trying to display a “filter by price” widgit in the main side bar of my Canape Theme.

The widgit adds just fine in the Wp Admin through Appearance–>Widgits, but it does not display on the front end. I’ve tried changing the visibility setting for the widgit,with no luck, so I removed it from the main sidebar widgits.

One caveat – I think that it may have been listed as an inactive widgit, and I inadvertently clicked the button to clear all inactive widgits. Is this a factor, or is there something in the theme that is preventing the filter by price widget from being visible?

I want the widget to always be visible, anytime the main side bar appears in a wordpress page.

I have created a lunch menu with sections within this (child). This is showing as expected on the page, however, I would like to re-order the sections within this menu.

So under the Lunch menu, instead of mains being first, I would like it as the 3rd section down.

Is this possible.

We have multiple menus Lunch, Dinner and Drinks which I have started populating. However, I would like the menu page to be split into sections of Starters / Mains / Desserts. Is this possible?

Currently, all the items are showing under the Dinner menu so not clear which are starters or mains.

I would have the same with the lunch menu too. Also with the Wine menu, it would be nice to categorise under Reds, Whites and Sparkling etc.

My client would like to have an e-shop on the website. So I installed Woo-commerce. I’ve have to reverse this because everything on my website changed, mainly all the food menus disappeared. Also all the images either disappeared or went out of line, the header and footer disappeared. I have noticed this has been noted before on other posts on this forum. Are you aware of a conflict between canape and Woo-commerce? Or do you believe that they should be OK working side-by-side? I’m using the most updated version of Jetpack (7.0). As I said the major problem is that the food menus are wiped out when Woo-commerce is installed and I believe that these menus are created using some of the features within Jackpack – so could it be a problem with Jetpack?

I would be very grateful for any light which you could shed on this problem.

Is there a way to stop automatic hypens showing when adding text to a page.

Currently my front page has a Title and a Text Box and the text in the text box has hypens in the text:

Eg:Set in a beautiful rural destination, Horse and Jockey is a family friendly pub & restaurant offering a relaxing atmosphere amongst its roaring fires, beaut–
iful gardens and countryside views.

Our dog friendly, Country pub offers lawned gardens with running stream, a childre–
n’s play area and covered outdoor seating catering for every need.
