how can I add a background image to the page? and is it possible to put diff images on diff pages

I am trying to change the colours of the bullets on an unordered list in Childishly Simple theme. This is what I included the child css file:

But this doesn’t work?

PS I commented out the list -style: none as I pasted this from another site where I didn’t want the bullets.

Why hello, Richard, I’m back again. I just published another website and am using Childishly Simple again. Yes, I do have a problem, as a matter of fact I had the same problem before and found a way to correct it, however, this time I have not. I have tried virtually everything and still it won’t go away.

It started on the Home Page and has now migrated to my Contact and Inquire Page. I added a new page as I always do and published it. I added to the menu and saved it. Still, the photo advertising I inherited with the theme will not go away. What I published has not replaced it.

How to give the header image area a background color?

I am using Childishly simple child theme. I want to decrease the amount of space between the content and the edge of the site. Strangely enough in the Theme options there is an option to do this but only on the home page but not on all the other pages.
Can anyone help as I understand Richard, the author of this theme has stopped giving support!

Is it possible to have a Home page with two sidebars on the right hand side with all the other pages having only one side bar on the right hand side?

I have been getting to grips with the Childishly Simple theme and have tried to activate breadcrumbs using Yoast SEO plugin. I have read the support topic – https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/how-to-add-yoasts-breadcrumb?replies=6 – but have failed to crack it just yet.
Where can I find the ‘header container’? Is this part of the themes options page? Any help/pointers would be much appreciated. In case you need it the web site is https://www.cypruscountryholidays.com

This is another incompatibility with the popular Jetpack plugin. I’d like a nice responsive view with the sidebar on the bottom. I could do that with Jetpack, but the sidebar has to have the name “sidebar-1”. I’ve tried various ways of editing the css and even tried using a javascript that I found to make it work, but nothing I tried would change the sidebar name or create the drop-down affect. Please help!

I use the Jetpack plugin so users can subscribe in the comment form. It is not working. Jetpack says:

If your theme uses the old way of displaying comments, we recommend that you contact your theme’s author about updating the theme to use the newest comment function. Will you be upgrading soon and if so, can you do this?

I am using a child theme of Childishly Simple.
In the Customise menu under Header Image -> Current Header it says “Randomising uploaded headers” Two questions:
1. What does this mean? The site only shows one image?
2. Is it possible to have a header with changing images almost like a photo gallery.

We have the latest versions on both. So here is what happened. We created a menu item called About Us a while back and in the title we added a very long title

that one to be exact. It never appeared on the page and all was fine. After the last update the line appeared under the About Us Menu item. I deleted it but it is still there. It is not an area we can actually access can you have a look please and advise thanks.. LOVE LOVE your theme.

I have just installed Childishly Simple child theme and I don’t seem to use the color schemes correctly because I don’t see any color difference when selecting the color shemes 1 to 10. For the color sheme 11, I see that it’s changing for purple. But no changes at all for the other.

I’m using the Simple Home Page so my setting is the front page display using “Your latest posts” as instructed. How then do I create a main page for blog posts? I don’t have a separate template for that.

I tried something you suggested on another support request which was creating a page.php in the child theme and using those instructions, it added the blog posts to the bottom of every page.

I just want one page that can be used as the link to the site’s blog. I set up categories in the sidebar and there’s a RSS page, but those aren’t sufficient when trying to link to “the blog” of the site – a page is needed. How do I create that?

One of the users has just updated the Childishly Simple Theme and didn’t back up the original. When we view the site now although all the other pages are OK the Home page has lost all its features. We have no sidebars and the menu bar is across the page instead of in the sidebars. I can remember this happening before with another update but can’t remember how we rectified the problem. Can anyone help?

I am using the free Childishly Simple Version 3.0.9
I can add a custom menu widget to the left side bar and the footer.

Under Android version 4.4.2 and version 4.1.2 on different tablets using Google Chrome I am unable to press and select menu options on the left side bar but I am able to select menu options from the footer menu?

Under Opera mini I am able to select menu options on the left side bar and footer.

Are there any quick fixes to get the left menu options working under chrome?

Hi there, I’ve got a prooblem with width, is there any way to make it go right on any device(lap-top,notebook,iMac,macbook,iPad etc)? cause when i choose liquid-width my background image comes wrong. Should I upload super big size background image to make any devica control the size of image or smth like this?

Hi there again, im tryin to put a categories on homepage, but got no luck yet, may be you can give me a piece of advice ,how to solve this problem?

When im using on homepage this shortcode:
“[product_category category=”” per_page=”12″ columns=”4″ orderby=”date” order=”desc”]“
it shows the content of category, but not the thumbnail of category – that’s the problem.

Odd one? If I choose 1 for the site border size, the content of the right sidebar items move to the bottom of the left sidebar. The right sidebar is still there but empty. Is this a bug?

I’ve just updated my the Childishly Simple theme and it completely replaced my Home page. I managed to get the sidebars back after noticing a new section on Home page but I’ve got a menu across the top of the page, under the header that I can’t see how to get rid of? Does anyone know how I can do that?

Also is there a list of the changes made to the theme with the update so I can see what else has changed?

If your home page looks ‘different’ after the latest update it might be because sidebars on the home page are now turned off by default. Scroll down to the home page section and click the appropriate checkbox to change.

Hello, i’ve got a problem concerning cart button as you already know.

Well, the problem is align!

I just can’t get how can i make it go in one row, no matter how many words in the title of a product.

Unfortunately site at localhost,mamp at the moment and there’s no way to show you live version.

I’ve tried to mess with css, firebug etc, but had no luck. It’d only got worth.

Is there a method to be able to access the “Childishly Simple Options” page to customise the theme before making it live on the public site.

At present I can only access this if the theme is activated (and showing on live)

My aim is to spend some time customising the theme then switch over when i am ready – rather than take the site offline while i do it.

I’m using “childishly simple” theme and everything is great, but i can’t understand how can i make search use tags as keywords, not only the exact title of product. All of the plugins i’ve tried to use didn’t work for me(relevanssi,search everything,tag search or smth like this, etc).

But on my another site (vantage theme) relevanssi easely made search by tags.

help!
