Hi,
Like many others, I really like the Cubic theme. I see in forum posts that many others have asked for similar custom features, such as expanded menu and sidebar feature.
For my own site, I’m thinking of commissioning someone to customize the cubic theme to build in those features. After it is done, I would love to place the modified version on an open space like Github for people to also benefit from it. I’m not sure if the original Cubic theme belongs to whom. In case it belongs to www.ads-software.com, is it allowed for me to place the modified theme on Github?
(There is no intention to monetize the modified theme, and it will also be made clear that the theme is a customized version of the original Cubic theme.)
Thanks!
]]>I setup a WP website looong time ago, using Cubic theme. I REALLY like it.
And plan to use the same theme on new (personal) website and then realized that the theme is really outdated?!? Last update: June 8th, 2017, and WP version: 3.8 or higher.
I think it wouldn’t be the smartest idea to use the theme for a new website, don’t you think?
Can somebody suggest a theme that is as close as possible to Cubic theme?
Thanks for any help,
Ammtar
My WP website https://tangokortrijk.be has been working ok for many years but since a couple of months the front page appears as blank (only the page content is not showing). During the same period the hosting company has updated php to a newer version, but I am not sure the issue might be related to this updating.
I have checked that the original page is still published, that it’s still correctly pointing to the front page, and the menu item “Over ons” is also still correctly set. I have deactivated all plugins (removed info in the database) and reactivated them again. WP core, theme (Colormag) and plugins are all updated to the latest versions. These actions have not resolved the problem.
I use a child theme and by replacing it by the main theme (Colormag), the front page content IS appearing. Does this mean that something is wrong in the child theme ? I do not have the knowledge to understand what might be wrong in the php code.
Please help.
Best regards,
Erik
Hello,
every blog post on my site begins with a large featured image.
see for instance https://peelroutes.wordpress.com/2021/03/05/grotelsche-heide/
As you check that page, you will see that the featured image size changes after one second. First the title and publish date are not fully visable, than something changes and the site looks good.
How can I make the transition go away? I want the page to be shown correctly immediately.
Thanks, hope you understand my problem.
I have this issue on every post, not only the examble used above.

Hello,
on the front page people see the titles of my blogs and the publish dates. Is it possible to also show the category? Thanks!

]]>No matter what I name my menu it shows up on the site as “Menu.” Is there an easy way to change this? Thanks!
]]>I added a gallery of 3 images to my post here:
(scroll down)
My problem is that images are not displayed the same way as in the editor (editor displays a nice grid of 100×100 thumbnails, which is what I want and should be default behavior). When the post is viewed from live site this gallery is all messed up and full images are used instead of thumbnails.
Any help would be awesome..
]]>WHATS REQUIRED: Post Masonry
I am trying to make masonry work. Its because of this cool theme that I gave up trying to polish my own theme because this one is professionally made, so faster more efficient.
But I simply cannot get masonry to work.
WHAT I TRIED: Added a theme function that calls jQuery’s masonify() on the post element class “article”. It doesnt work. Then spent a week trying to figure out why it doesnt work here when it does on others.
Please help soon.
]]>Hello friends,
I’m completely new to WordPress and finding some things harder than expected. I installed the Cubic theme primarily for the clean-looking grid feature…but my test posts are showing as a list on the homepage and blog page.
The featured images are showing above each post title, it’s just that the page is not formatted as expected.
If I click on the author name to show all posts from that author, it does show the three test posts in the grid format as expected.
Apologies in advance for my idiocy…but what have I (not) done?
Warm wishes from the Netherlands!
]]>I have a wordpress install on hostagator using the Cubic theme set for the homepage to show blog posts. All plugs and wp are updated and php is version 7.3 (also tried 5.3). I’ve tried clearing the cache and when I switch to the 2020 theme the posts do show so I think it is cubic post issue.
As you scroll or load more posts some posts are missing. I’ve checked everything I can think of and can’t figure this out.
Any help is appreciated.
So loading skatebias.com and scrolling down / loading more …
The 10th post from the top should be the post below but it is not showing in the list
https://skatebias.com/skatebias-56-lana-longboarding/
The 4th post from the bottom (50 or so total post so page 3 or 4) should be this post but it is not showing in the list
https://skatebias.com/skatebias-1-downhill-inline-skating-san-francisco-crashing-at-40-mph/
They all used to show and now I do not know why. They are both set to public. I also searched the forum but could not find any other posts about this that are recent.
Thank you
]]>I had to refresh my Cubic child theme because of another problem, and now two weird things have messed up the front page.
First, when you scroll up the front page, the post names beneath the images now appear on top of the footer, not “hidden behind” it. That never happened before.
Second, a whole set of odd square white icons, each with two squiggles inside, now appear on the frontpage–and apparently every other page of the site. When I inspected these with web inspector, each one bears the name of a page on the site.
I’ve deactivated all plug-ins, but it didn’t help with either issue. And I tried using the basic Cubic theme instead of the child theme–but the same two issues remain.
Thanks for your help!
]]>As the title says, the Category name has stopped showing up at the top of each Category Page (which our site uses as a kind of menu). It used to be there. In 2018, at the advice of Michael (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/modifying-category-page-header/) I modified the functions.php page so the user’s name + the category name would appear, but not the word “Category:” I used this code:
add_filter( ‘get_the_archive_title’, function ($title) {
if ( is_category() ) {
$current_user = wp_get_current_user();
if ( ($current_user instanceof WP_User) ) {
$title = $current_user->display_name . ‘′s ‘ . single_cat_title( ”, false );
} else {
$title = single_cat_title( ”, false );
}
}
return $title;
});
But now neither the user name nor the category name appears. I have tried deactivating plug-ins to no avail. Then I switched to the 2019 Theme and “Category:[name]” did show up. But when I returned to my Cubic-child Theme, the problem was still there (as well as some new problems which now require me to restore the whole site with a backup! If you go there, you’ll see–a bunch of odd little white boxes at the bottom of each page).
Can anyone explain what might have changed, either in Cubic or in WP itself?
Thanks!
Hi,
The top 1/4 of the top row of images on the front page of my Cubic site gets covered up by the site-identity banner. You can see the full images when you pull down on the grid of images, but I can’t figure out how to get the full images to show when you arrive at the page.
I tried making the site-identity banner smaller by reducing the font size of the site title, shrinking the logo and reducing all the padding, but the problem persists.
Hope someone can help! Thanks.
Hi, my site looks fine on desktop. But on phones–and in portrait on iPad–the featured image gets squish/distorted. Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks!
I am having issues with how the images show up and their alignment. For example, if I align an image right or left, it looks good while editing but once I preview or publish, the alignments of the images are way further and it seems like there is a different area for the text and much larger area for the images. Need help fixing this.
I tried to post this on the Theme page but the theme is not included there.
The blog I need help with is mymugoftea.com.

]]>Hello Support Team for Cubic,
I noticed today a glitch in the layout of the captions in all my posts:
The captions were aligned in the middle under the photos but now are aligned
on the left-side and there is a bigger gap now between photo and caption, which
makes the caption’s position look odd. This make the layout of a caption and the text between photos look strange too. Do you know what the issue is here, as now all the posts have the same layout problem?
Thanks for your attention!

]]>Hi all,
I can’t get any labels or icons to show on my social media meu or a new menu I want to use in place of the social media menu. Can anyone give me some pointers? I added the menu image plugin and the labels and icons show in the sidebar menu, just not in the footer.
Cheers,

Hi,
I’ve inserted 3 photos into a Gallery block in my post and the images appear unevenly spaced out.
When I insert the same 3 photos into a Classic block, the images are evenly spaced.
Can anyone give me some suggestions as to what the problem might be? I think it’s theme related because when I switch to the 2019 theme, it works.
Thanks!
]]>Hi,
I love the Cubic Theme, but is it possible to change the layout to 3×4 or 3×3 so that it looks cleaner. Now I got 10 posts per page it would be better if I could change it to 12 posts. Can someone help me with this problem?
And is it possible to change the color blue to another one, when you click on a post of when you use the menu botton?
]]>I have one more thing to fix before I am happy with the theme layout.
One thing that really bugs me is the way the image and text display at different widths. So I guess I really have two questions…
1. How can I make the text the same width as the images?
And
2. How can I achieve a wider page with with neatly aligned images?
From previous threads, I found and tried this CSS which does succeed in increasing the page width but the images are all askew. I thought I could attach a screen shot to explain but there doesn’t seem to be that option – the text looks like it’s correct but the images are placed further to the left.
@media screen and (min-width: 1068px) {
body.page .entry-header, body.single .entry-header {
width: 100%;
margin-left: 0 !important;
left: 0 !important;
}
.entry-author, .entry-content, .entry-footer {
width: 1068px;
}
}
Something I’ve noticed is that although the uploaded images are 1080px wide, the theme seems to force them to a much narrower width.
Ultimately, what I’m aiming for is a wider page width where the photos and text is aligned. But if I can only achieve one of these things, it would be a uniform page with aligned text and images.
Many thanks for any ideas…
]]>Firstly, am I correct that there is not one single setting or command that will change the theme’s standard green/blue colour to a custom one?
If that is the case, I have managed (by searching the existing threads and looking up some guides to css) to change most of the links to the colour I want (#8a211a). However there are a few that I can’t work out and would really appreciate some help with the css needed to change the following:
1. The site title / name changes to blue/green on hover. How do I change the hover colour to match the non-hover.
2. The three small horizontal lines for the menu and the cross once the menu is enabled.
3. The “post comment” button.
4. The hover colour in the comments section, when you hover over the reader’s name if they have linked to a website.
Many thanks, and if anyone can help with any of these it would be much appreciated. It would be really helpful if all of this type of css was gathered in a pinned post!
]]>Hi
I’m pretty new to this but have tried to sort out some adjustments with my homepage, I just have a few more problems that i could use your help with.
1) I want to change all the blue text to black (when hovering over the titel of the page, in the menu, when hovering over the instagram button).
2) I’ve managed to change that the titel is only visible when hovering over the thumbnails on the frontpage, but unfortunatly the grey box is disrupting the image even when not hovered over. I wish that the grey box disapears, and if possible to center the titel on the image when hovering over the picture.
3) is it possible to change, remove the text in the footer about wordpress, if so how can i do it?
kind regards
Thilde
Hello,
My blog uses the Cubic theme and has been loading a blank homepage since 3 weeks now.
I view it on Safari, both on my phone as well as the desktop.
It works fine on other browsers like Chrome and Firefox, but not on Safari.
It loads a blank page except for the header and menu tab. The links are working, but you cannot see any featured images that make up the links. So, you have to blindly click and see where it leads. On clicking back to the homepage, it stays blank.
I should also mention, the page loads just fine if I am logged in and do a “view site” option.
Here’s a link to a screengrab: https://snag.gy/SLMmck.jpg
This is my blog url: https://www.lilbookplace.wordpress.com
A similar query was posted and resolved here, seemed to be a back-end resolution:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/blank-from-page/
I would appreciate any help with this one. Thank you.
]]>I was wondering, as this theme hasn’t been updated in over 18 months, and I believe is no longer supported, if it is fully compatible with Word Press 5 and Gutenberg?
Has anyone run into any related issues after updating?
Thanks.
Having gone through the READ FIRST posts, I can conclude that my problem is with the theme I chose fairly recently, Cubic. This does not recur when I change the theme. My problem has only been noticed, since when I’m logged in, everything is fine, but when logged out, I clicked on a link and viewed my blog as a visitor; the whole front page was blank, except for the header. The posts were there because clicking on the screen accessed them, but they were invisible. Once logged in, they were all showing as intended.
]]>Hello, is there any option to add your own custom logo (.png) in the TopBar of the Cubic Theme? Thanks
]]>Hi there,
I have a problem on my blog page with I called ‘Portfolio’.
If I add paragraphs in my blogposts some will have a white background and some will turn grey. It seems to me that the theme doesn’t register it as part of the paragraph because if I change the background color of the paragraph in the customizer. only the white parts will change color.
When I add foto’s the background will also turn grey, but if I change the layout it sometimes will turn white and another part will turn grey. This makes it very random. I want everything white. Is there anyone who can help?
Thanks in advance!
