very good theme for fast establishing, recommend

I like the clean business-type design Edin has to offer, but it fails for a few reasons:
The biggest problem is that it does not perform very well when testing on Pingdom and Google PageSpeed Insights, and I am not able to fix this all the way. If I disable either jQuery or jQuery Migrate, the navigation bar will not display at all. I cannot stop the speed-testing tools from complaining about these scripts unless I want to do without the navigation. Then as a result, I would lose visitors due to a heavily-damaged user experience.
Another problem is the icon fonts (a.k.a. Edincons and Genericons in this theme). Icon fonts are bad and should be replaced because they basically are not accessible, and it would be embarrassing to see boxes with or without Xs when they do not display properly. Plus, they use separate stylesheets, and making additional requests for these also hurt site speed. Therefore, I would have to disable these and wipe out all references to the icon fonts in the main stylesheet, and there would be no real icons for improving UX.
Overall, getting Edin to perform well in speed and UX requires too much hacking, and it is a frustrating experience.

Have been using this theme right since I bought my domain: GrowthGravy.com and must say the theme is pretty good. Gives you a neat call to action and easy way to list your blog posts / featured pages on your homepage.
Changing the colors becomes easy if you know CSS or the Support Team could help you with the codes. Love the WordPress community ??

This is a neat theme and it deserves a five star rating.
Yes, you should configure it after installation, but all options in Customizer are intuitive and the guidance on how to set up a front page like on the demo is available in readme.txt file.
It would be great if developers add the option to change link color in future theme updates.

I like the clean design and template options – front page and grid were my favorites. It was easy to customize and worked as expected. It would be nice if there was a way to add columns to the full-width template, or perhaps add a multi-column template. Overall, really good.

4 stars instead of five because the Site logo function is not working.

update: 11/1/2014 ~ i am changing the rating from 3 to 4 stars primarily due to that great support that i have experienced from Kathryn on the Automatic team for this theme. – db
… language of the description and the look and feel of the theme as advertised caught my eye as i scrolled through the list once my WP instance had been created. i was definitely looking for a theme that was NOT purely a blog engine with lipstick…
~ i am giving 3 stars in this review because the theme, once installed, doesn’t look like the advertised theme image, and i mean nothing like it… still the clean design that was installed was appealing…
~ on digging deeper; i discovered that every page type is set up to be… you guessed it… a blog with blog like attributes… still not so bad, the flexibility that is built in, and the way these developers documented the code and put the documentation into easily selectable sections was impressive…
~ i am not a WP expert, i wonder if there isn’t something out there that is closer to the “business and corporate” site look promise i was looking for, AND i still haven’t figured out how to: (a) get the header to look like the example, where some navigational function sits above the image, or (b) get that cool looking search icon instead of the clunky search box(s), or (c) get the unwanted blog functions, like “Leave a Reply” off of my pages… in fact i am looking for a more masterful WP user for a project… all that said; i DO LIKE the crisp, clean look and feel and documentation that this theme delivers right out of the box !!!…
