MY site was running quite well. I just updated to your latest version, and an old problem cropped up.
The header disappeared. It worked fine before the update, and with nothing changed, it will not show up now.

Do I have to change something to get it back working again? I’ve looked all over, but I do not see anything that should.could affect the header. The image is there under appearance/header, just not in the live site.

I would very much appreciate a bit of guidance.

I added Expressions to a new install. Added a header, and it showed up. Then, after adding some plugins, the header will not show. I deactivated all plugins, but the header still fails to show.
After trying everything I could think of, I gave up, and removed everything from the domain. I reinstalled WP again, and did nothing but install Expressions, then added a header. It still will not show!!

Is Expressions not compatible with WP 4.2.2? That is the only thing I can think of to explain this problem. If I go to headers, the image is there, just will not show on the page.

I would most appreciate any comments to explain this strange behavior. I have used Expressions in the past, and never had this type of problem.

Dear all:

in order to focus the reader on the content, I would like to hide the featured image in the post. Obviously, I have to adjust the corresponding style sheet. For one of the standard themes the command is a follows:

.attachment-post-thumbnail {
display:none;
}

This, however, is not the right class for expressions. Can anyone help?

Expressions is working out very well for me, full featured, and easy to use.

Only two minor issues for me. My header is the recommended size. That leaves a lot of white space around it. Can I change the color of this space, or use a background image?

Can I change the background color of the main part of the page/ sidebar area?
I may be missing the obvious, but I do not seem able to make these color changes.

I am using the Expressions theme for our site designgel.org.nz, and have been enjoying it so far, with some customising on our end.

However, I have ran into a conflict with the Jetpack plugin, particularly the tiled gallery feature. The option to turn the tiled gallery feature is supposed to show up under Settings > Media, but it doesn’t.

I have tried deactivating all of the other plugins I am using one by one, with no change.

In the “Expressions options” page in the tab “Homepage” you can style the homepage. On the homepage I would like to repeat sections 2 (3 service boxes)so I can have 6 boxes on my homepage. Is that possible?

I also would like to make the picture in the service box also clickable (instead of only using a button). How can I change this?

One more question. I can’t find the location where you would upload a custom logo for the top of the page. The only logo I seem to be able to add is the Expressions logo.

Hi,

I see in the notes that it is possible to change the location of the menu as well as add borders to it. I can’t find where these options are. I believe I have looked at all the Expressions options available through the dashboard. Do I need to change the code? I wanted to add a border top and bottom to the menu and change the font.

First off, congratulations and thank you for a beautiful theme. I’m considering it for my site, but am trying to make sure I understand the documentation correctly. From reading the documentation, it looks like the featured posts only work with a static home page. Am I correct?

I’m trying to do something similar to, for example, macstories.net, where they have 3 highlighted posts just below the menu bar and just above the start of the blog content.

Hi, I would like to either:
– make the slider full width i.e. remove the widget text on the right hand side.
– or remove the slider completely

I am using another slider plugin but when I set the page to ‘Home Page’ the slider appear, so now I have 2 sliders. If I set the home page to ‘Full width’ my home page sections (service box 1, 2..) disappeared.

How do I add a featured image?

I need a page accessible only upon return from completion of a Paypal payment. Paypal doesn’t let me pass a password upon return, so I do not see how password protecting the page will work. Making the page private seems to block it completely, so I am stuck.
Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

I’ve set up a parent menu item with a dropdown submenu. The parent item is a dummy – does not link to a page. It’s child dropdown items link to corresponding pages. Works perfectly on desktop but when viewing on a mobile device the parent menu item becomes clickable and opens to a “page not found” page. How can I fix this?

Sorry, I am pretty new to WordPress and the Theme and I spend only limited time working with it. Subsequent to the latest updates, the navigation menu bar does not work properly, i.e., a little arrow indicates the sub-menues available. However, the corresponding links are not shown. The theme just jumps to the major header.
Is this already known or am I to stupid to properly work with the theme.

LOVE the Expressions Theme but want the logo to appear bigger than it does using the Logo option. So I followed the theme documentation to put it into the header using a Text widget. Looked great on my PC. When I went to view it on my Android phone and my iPad, the image was replaced by a box and alt text. Any suggestions on how to get it to appear in mobile versions? Thanks. My site is ridgerunrrr.com (logo option is now activated until I can figure out the header)

I customized my theme with a background color and image. No matter what setting I use (tile, center, right, left, etc.) I see nothing at all on the live site. No color, no image. What am I missing?

I am getting close on building a site. There are a few things about Expressions that I would like to modify. For example;
1) Can I adjust the width of the center section?
2) Can I adjust the width of the right sidebar?
3) Can I have both a right hand and left hand sidebar on a page?
4) Changing background color seems to have no effect. How to change background, and the page title band?
5) Can I modify font,color of menu?

If you have a pro version that includes more functionality similar to the above, I am interested.

How do you remove the text “You may use these HTML tags and attributes: <abbr title=””> <acronym title=””> <b>

I have read all the forums and they suggest adding:

#form-allowed-tags {
display:none;
}

at the end of the style sheet but it doesn't work. Other forums have discussed putting code on the function sheet and comment sheet - but nothing is working.

Perhaps I deleted it. I want my posts to be on the front page. When I write one, it appears on a front page. However, it is not listed on my page list so I can’t edit it. Nor is on my menu. I have made a home page but can only comment, not make original posts. I can remake the front page like I have my home page, but it doesn’t exist in the dashboard! In the settings, I can’t make any changes because front page doesn’t exist in the drop down menu either. How can I regain access to what I want to post?

I am using sidebars [right side] on most pages. But for some pages, I would like to add left hand side bars in addition to the right side.
I can’t figure out how to do this. Can it be done?
The documentation says that all sidebars can be left or right, but sidebars like sidebar_1 [and the rest], seem to have no provision for selecting location. Nothing mentions having both left and right.
Would very much appreciate any assistance.

I feel silly asking this, but I’m having a hard time setting up the slider. The documentation refers to an entire Expressions Page Options section on my home page edit page, but I don’t see it. Do I need to check a box somewhere to turn that on?

WP version 3.6.1
Expressions ver 1.28.4
The theme includes a search widget [I don’t think I added it separately]
Everything works, but I would like to modify the results page by adding a paragraph of information at the top of the page. The “page” is ?s=<search word>, but that obviously is not a standard WP page that I can access to modify.

How do I get to the code to make the changes I need?

PS. Is this a WP issue, or a theme issue, or a widget issue? I am not even sure how to classify the issue.
