Other suggestions I’ve read are for older versions of Great, and they aren’t relevant for the most current version.
Thank you.

I’m trying to create a child theme of the Great theme in order to test out some changes. Is there a way to automatically include all of the “Great Theme Optimizations” customizations I’ve already made to the Great theme so I don’t have to go through all of that again? When I bring up my child theme, it defaults back to the default colors and headers.
Thanks,
Linda
Under the previous version of Great that I was running 0.17, the slider worked perfectly and only showed up on the home page. When I attempted to update to 1.05, the slider began appearing on every page. This is NOT what I want. How do change this?
Another thing that looked “off” is there was a <Read More> button way down in the footer that didn’t appear to link to anything other than the front page. I can send you a screenshot of this if you’d like.
THanks!
]]>Hello,
I have added some CSS in “Additional CSS” section for styling the main menu.
.main-navigation ul ul a {
background: #0099a4;
color: #ffffff;
}
.main-navigation ul ul a:hover {
background: #ffc000;
color: #0199a4;
}
I can see the changes and the results correctly but only on Backend.
Nothing works on Frontend in any browser.
What is the problem and How could I solve it?

]]>Yesterday, my website automatically updated to wordpress 4.7.3 and now the drop menus don’t work properly in chrome. (They are fine in Firefox, Explorer and on Android phone)
Could this be a problem with the Great! theme? I’m guessing not, but wanted to see what you think.
Thanks!! I love this theme.

edited to add:
The problem with menus only appears on pages that have the theme slider activated (Home & Blog).
]]>Hi,
I am getting this issue after updating to latest version. The summary for posts are starting below the featured image. Earlier it used to start right aligned from the side of the image, hence covering the length. This used to look much better than current one.

Hi there,
Looking for some help, please!
After I updated the “Great” theme the other day to 1.02, I checked things out to see what had changed. There were some nice updates, but one pretty significant negative change too…
I noticed that when I go to my blog roll, the list of posts looks perfect. Featured image, title, and a few lines of text. HOWEVER, when I click on a category (in my header menu, for example), the list of posts is there, but WITHOUT the featured image showing. Before the update, they were showing fine.
Any ideas of what I can do? I really want the featured image there beside each post. No one stays on a site with zero pics on the page these days. So, hoping there’s an easy fix. Help?
Thanks in advance.

Hi
Yesterday I updated Great to 1.0.1. From then on I couldn’t start my website anymore. Instead I recieved a blank window in Firefox and a HTTP 500 error in Edge. I had to restore my latest backup to make it work again. Now I’m still using my website with Great 1.0.
Is there a known reason for this or is there a fix available?
Thank you for any response.
Regards
Peter
Hi
I have been using wordpress Great theme and Ninja forms which worked great. However I now noticed that the Form on my website do not display. All it has is
/*
Contact Me
/*]]>*/
I changed the Theme and the Form appears again so I am pretty sure the issue is with the Great Theme.
I have 2 forms on my site
https://www.baby-daycare.co.za/contact-us/
https://www.baby-daycare.co.za/registration/registration-form/
I updated to WP 4.7.1 and to the most recent update of the Great! (0.17) theme on the same day. The home page of my site used to display full text of posts. It now displays only summaries with “Read more”, even though the Settings specify “Full Text”. Ideas?
Thanks in advance.
]]>Hi,
Great is a great theme. We like it very much. Yes, I am new at WP, but this problem seems to be from the theme:
I changed the color of my header text (address, email, telephone) due to the background photo. It works all fine on the desktop. Using my mobile (either a blackberry or an iPhone) I get the telephone number in another color AND it is repeated in the footer as well.
Do you mind having a look?
Thanks.

Hi,
this is a great theme – i installed it just yesterday.
Today an update came and my site does not work anymore.
This is the message:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in […]/wp-content/themes/great/inc/template-tags.php on line 251
I even put it on a brand new WP-installation – same thing.
Am I the only one? What’s wrong?
I use PHP 7.7
Thank you :o)
]]>I really like the Great! theme and would be interested in purchasing the theme if possible. I am concerned that the free theme on www.ads-software.com hasn’t been updated since March 2016.

Thanks!!
]]>Hi
I cannot get the great slider to work on the front page of my website only. I don’t want to have to use the featured image on the pages so I installed the huge IT slider as an alternative so that I can use custom made banners for the slider.
How can I alter the homepage CSS so that the slider only appears on the front page? I have a static front page but I can’t seem to access the CSS and if I paste anything into the custom CSS to try and only have the slider on the front page this doesn’t have any effect.

]]>First of all, thanks for a great theme.
When I put widgets on sidebar and choose background color for widgets, the same color is inherited to text area on the left (page or post) when you view it on mobile phone.
Also the widgets brake (not in place) on mobile or iPad view. Can this be corrected?
]]>I wish to due some modifications to the footer.
I do wish to give the author his credits, but I feel it should be a bit less intrusive. I wish keep a link to the theme homepage at the footer.
I have come across people who advise that a child theme is the best way to accomplish this. But, being an amateur, I find creating a child theme too complicated for me.
Editing the text under great_copyright_infotext of functions.php is not changing my footer.
How can I do this?

]]>Hi – how do I change the default logo size? I keep trying to resample my image size and re-upload, but it looks like the theme is adjusting the size…
]]>The CSS determiner of image size in the Great theme, applicable to computer, ipad and mobile is:
img {
height: auto; /* Make sure images are scaled correctly. */
max-width: 100%; /* Adhere to container width. */
}
What determines the size of the images on a mobile appears to be the orientation of the mobile when the website is first viewed (ie vertical or horizontal). That is apparently the reason that the image size increases when you refresh the website with the mobile horizontal, following a vertical open. If you open up the website on a horizontal device, you get a large image to fit. When you switch back to vertical the image reduces in size, and goes back to large when you go back to horizontal. Unfortunately the image does not become large when you go from an open in vertical to horizontal (Presumably because it is already at 100%?).
I found, installed and tested a plugin (adaptive-images.0.6.60) that claimed to download the correct size image to whatever device you are using, and had a check box for download for horizontal orientation. It made no difference. It appears to be unable to overrule the CSS.
Would any of our readers know if there is a way to ensure that the image is indeed at max width = 100% if the mobile is vertical when the website is first opened then turned horizontal. I would be very grateful for any suggestions, ideas or solutions. Thank-you, schrameck.
]]>Hi all,
when activating debug mode, I get some warnings due to using undefined variables in the following line:
Notice: Undefined variable: adressOut in C:\laragon\www\fahamni\wp-content\themes\great\inc\extras.php on line 161
Since I am using a child theme that inherits froml Great theme, I tried to perform the following control in the mentioned line, then I put the extras.php file in the same folder of the child theme. But this does not corrected the issue:
if(isset($adressOut)&&isset($mailOut)&&isset($phoneOut))
echo $adressOut . $mailOut . $phoneOut;
could you please assist me to correct the problem in clean way (without changing the parent theme)
Cordially,

Hi,
First of all thanks for this awesome theme. Issue i am facing is that there is white space around the slider and its not streched to fit the row. there is white space just below the menu and to the left and right of slider. I am using metaslider and page builder plugin. If i choose row layout streched it just goes out from left side with left portion of slider not visible. Please help.
Hello Support,
You have to click twice on navigation before the actual link is working when view on ipad landscape.
I understand that this behaviour is needed when there is submenu, dropdown will appear on 2st click.
But it is annoying for visitors when there is no submenu at all.
Many thanks in advance!
